I hope everyone is looking after themselves and keeping well. I may be busy editing stories but I do still keep popping in every now and again. 😃

We all know what the Dog Emperor is like, he eats, breaths and lives the Drewth.

No parties, we're just working on some editing for some of my earlier stories. Terry has also been spending some quality time with Aod, he has to keep his man happy. And contrary to somebodies claims I do not believe he has left anyone in charge of looking after, or keeping an eye on, Spike or anyone else. I'm sure Terry will be dropping back in any day.

I'm feeling left out, I don't drink 😒

Are you one of those readers who say 'Westerns are not my thing'? You are! Then you haven't read one written by @Headstall and you are missing out. Gary has a good following for a good reason, he writes stories that draw you in making you feel like it is real and you are part of the story and you are there watching it not just reading it. This is a story about surviving and getting by with the hand that life has dealt you. That is until life deals you another bad hand, and then suddenly out of nowhere comes an unexpected friendship that becomes more and makes you rethink about what you want life to be. This is Jubal's raw and gritty story and you can be a part of it if you read it. Western fan or not, I recommend this story to all. I rate it at five stars because I am not allowed to rate it more.

What a wonderful way to end this story. We have the confirmed love of two men, Jubal and Lucas, to celebrate, their union and their building of a home together. It has been a privilege to be a witness to their unfolding love. Their love and care for each other extends to the land they own and is returned in the bounty of food it produces as well as the livestock it supports. Kema leaving a part of himself in his foal is a touching tribute to the fine horse we are told he was. I'm sure that it is Jubal and Lucas' example that has set Reid and Billy on the path of future happiness together. Billy's father is a good man who loves and accepts his son and has amazed us with his acceptance of his life choice and life partner. All of the loose ends are nicely tied up, but I notice not too tightly. The end of this story also leaves enough openings for future stories from Bearpaw. Reid and Billy have a story to tell, there could also be a further story about Jubal and Lucas' future. And let's not forget, Bearpaw is ripe for further stories as the town grows. I would like to think that the four farms in Bearpaw that are currently owned by bachelors will exist long into the future, but that would need heirs, could that be a possible thread for more stories? Is there anyone in Bearpaw with a big enough heart to take a youngster under their wing? Thank you, Gary, for a brilliantly gritty story of love in The Old Wild West. I'm already looking forward to your next story.

There are a lot already there, they are unsung heroes that go unnoticed. On saying that, I agree, we do need more of them. Thank you for reading and commenting @Timothy M., it means a lot to me.

I think Jeff may have enjoyed doing his bit of detective work, especially when it brought good news for The Major. The prison 'grapevine' is reported to be very efficient at finding out and spreading news so it was probably only a matter of time before Bill and his accomplice were found out. This is why it is recommended that certain prisoners be placed in solitary or on specialist wings. Prison justice is often brutal throughout the world. Beccy and Jim have been busy, maybe they did visit Jason at some point but it got overlooked in the telling of the story. I think Jason is in the right place and will do well given time.

I loved adding the flirting as a bit of humour, I thought it was needed in a story as serious as this. The attackers of the anonymous victim are in police custody, it's where they belong and can be dealt with.

Jason's luck does look like it's on a downward spiral, hopefully, with this happening in the hospital something good can come from it. Ian's worries are understandable, his spat with Kevin shows how relationships can be affected by outside influences. I think there is more to The Major's reaction than we see at the moment, if I'm right it will probably come out at some point.

Your rereading and commenting has brought back the same allergies I had when writing this story. It also shows how reading all of the stories can make a difference to the reading experience.

That's a good and accurate description of Bill. He is representative of the evils that our growing population of homeless youth face on the streets.

While all of the stories can be treated as good stand-alone stories, it can be beneficial to read all of the stories and hopefully, improve the enjoyment of each story.

Is Judy the stronger one? Ox/The Major did manage to embarrass her. Ox/The Major has a new home with the lads, where he belongs, let's hope he stays put.

What you say about Ox is true, it proves he is a human being with feelings. Danny is no longer a 'throw-away' child, now he is loved and wanted. Andy and Chris are 'dancing' around each other figuratively speaking. Chris feels more comfortable as he realises the guests still trust The Boot and many respect him more than they did before. Bill is one of those low-lifes that we all wish didn't exist, but unfortunately, they do.

I think Harry holding Draco's head is better, it looks good. Do you plan on writing a story around the picture?

Goldstein, Johnson and Cole is one story from the Lost Souls Series, as is What Happened To The Baxter Boys. They are accompanied by Lost Soul - The Ox and Lost Soul - John/Christian. The Boot and The Boot - Three Years On are in The Boot Series, and form the central core of the stories. Both series together form The Boot World. All of the stories can be read as a stand-alone story. However, it can increase the enjoyment of the stories if they are all read. The Boot, the first in the series and the original story which inspired the other stories was written with the help of an editor and beta-reader. I consider it a well-written short story. What Happened To The Baxter Boys, is the latest in The Lost Soul Series and The Boot World. Again it has been written with the help of an editor and beta-reader. I agree that it is the best written and of a higher quality. I consider it the best written and presented of all the stories. All of the remaining stories I chose to write without the aid of an editor or beta-reader and I believe that shows. They are good stories that could have been written better and would have benefitted from the help of an editor and beta reader. In essence, they are my journey to becoming a better writer and author. Some of the stories have had some minor editing carried out but enough to improve them greatly. With @raven1 I am currently looking to either carry out some serious editing or possibly re-writing to improve them and raise the quality. Goldstein, Johnson & Cole is currently under review. No plot lines or outcomes will be altered, but it is hoped to improve the quality of the stories.
