  1. I think you would be disappointed with Lilienthal Berlin. If you want a good value automatic with reliable service I would suggest Tag-Heuer, Omega or Hamilton unless you can afford the higher echelons of Rolex and the like. I'd recommend the Khaki Field Titanium Automatic range, I'm sure you would find something you would be happy with among them. I would also recommend buying an automatic watch winder if you buy an automatic, it will help to keep it working so that it doesn't seize up if left inactive for long periods of time.
  2. Welcome to the quality of Citizen Eco-Drive, I know you will be happy with your watch. You may even be tempted to buy another. I have my titanium and two chronographs. They look just as good as my Tag Heuer and my Hamilton, and they are more accurate timekeepers.
  3. I'm more than sure you will be happy with it. All you need to do to keep it accurate is to keep it charged which is easy, it will rarely need to have the time changed, they are very accurate watches. It will charge in any light, natural or artificial, the stronger the light the better it will charge. To keep it charged when not wearing it just keep it in the open box facing the strongest light source available and you will never have a problem with it. A full charge will last for months so you should have no need to worry. If you have any problems with it, which I very much doubt, let me know and I'll help you resolve it. My Eco-Drives have been going well for years and the only time I've needed to alter the time has been at the start and end of British Summer Time.
  4. Hey, nice watch, nice choice. It's a newer version of the Eco-Drive Titanium that I have, mine has a grey face. That works out to about £232! It's £320 in most jewellers here in the UK, so well done with your canny shopping skills.
  5. We just like keeping you on your toes, lol.
  6. How are you and Steve and did you enjoy your company and spoil them with your cooking.
  7. No problem, I'm happy to help.
  8. I messaged him the other day, he is spending time catching up with tasks at home and doing some editing. He will probably be back online soon.
  9. What! With feet that size! Are you trying to induce an earthquake by having hobbit size feet slamming down!
  10. @Flip-Flop if you enjoy reading stories from any author and want to be kept up-to-date on new stories they are posting you can follow an author and receive notifications. You can do this from the main story page of any of their stories or their author profile, which is different to their member profile, by clicking on Follow Author. If you click on Follow Member on their member profile the notifications you receive may be different. You can follow as many members and authors as you choose to. If you click on Follow Story from the main story page you will receive notifications about that story.
  11. I am happy that you decided to stop lurking and sign up. GA is all the richer for every new member who signs up, especially when, like yourself, they participate and get involved. I know that I can speak for many authors when I say this, we appreciate every emoticon reaction left by our readers and we enjoy responding to and chatting with our readers via the chapter and story comments, they help to keep us going. The reviews left by readers and their story recommendations add more fuel to our enjoyment of writing and posting our stories and are very much encouraged, they also help to raise awareness of the stories we post and help to attract more readers. Thank you for your comment about The Boot World stories, it really is appreciated. Your reactions and comments have been noticed, I hope you will be happy to know that there are more to come. Authors receive a notification every time a reader leaves a reaction or comment to a chapter, chapter comment, story and story comment. We also receive a notification for each review that is left to our stories. When I have been bombarded by reaction notifications I've been very happy to receive them and always wonder what that reader thinks of the story, hoping they will leave a comment to let me know, this also allows me to thank them for their interest, reactions and comments. To be bombarded in this way by a reader is a delight, especially when it is to an older story.
  12. I don't think there is a 'proper etiquette' as such. I'd say leave your reactions wherever you feel is appropriate, but at least leave a reaction to the story title page. As for comments, I'd say use your own judgement as comments can still create discussion even in older stories. I've previously left comments on older stories, some of the authors, where they are still active, have acknowledged and appreciated the comment. As an author, I will always reply to comments on my stories including the older ones, I feel that any reader who takes the time to comment deserves a reply.
  13. One to add to the reading list
  14. Hmmm, is there a glitch on the site? Or is the double posting due to an onset of dementia on @wildone's part, lol.
  15. Voted and I will try to have an entry ready.
  16. I understand as sometimes it can be a fiddly job. I'm used to doing it and other minor alterations and repairs as it was part of my job before becoming a consultant. I still have all the 'tools of the trade' and often teach others as part of the consultancy. High-end watches and jewellery were my specialities in the trade.
  17. If I lived locally I'd do it for you for free. Have you thought about buying the right tools and doing it yourself? It could work out cheaper.
  18. No, Gary is just showing what good taste he has in watches.
  19. An excellent choice of watch. I have several different eco-drives and recommend them. They are as good as Rolex, Breitling, Omega and other top-end expensive watches and probably more accurate timekeepers on average.
  20. I see that you and Steve are ready for Superbowl Sunday, I hope you both have a good day and see the results you want.
  21. Aloha my friend, I've not been about much lately due to being busy, how have you been?
  22. Fingers crossed all goes well at the doctor's. 🤞
  23. Hi Gary, hope you're feeling better today.
  24. Aloha Albert, how are you today?
  25. I hope everyone is looking after themselves and keeping well. I may be busy editing stories but I do still keep popping in every now and again. 😃
