  1. (With apologies to The Bard) Fragment of a scaly snake, In a cauldron boil and bake; While cursing the demon's poisoned tail, Add some powdered dragon scale, Viper's tongue and hornet's sting, Mad dog's heart and raven's wing. Boil and bubble at least an hour, And soothe the throat with broth of power.
  2. I just luuuuuuurve those HEA stories!
  3. I'm having my bedtime mug of cocoa.
  4. Well, it's now ten after midnight. Which means it's time for me to go to bed.
  5. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I certainly did, as well.
  6. South Georgia Island, in the South Atlantic Ocean between Argentina and Antarctica. Interesting article on the BBC website: http://www.bbc.com/travel/story/20200720-an-abandoned-british-island-reclaimed-by-nature (Although the photograph above might excite our @Valkyrie, the article isn't only about penguins )
  7. A brilliant wee tale. One that had me guessing incorrectly all the way to the end. Why not have a read of it, and see if you can do any better than me?

  8. Bravo, Val! You had me guessing right to the very end.
  9. Yup! I had basically the same problem with the first house I bought, back around 1975. It had been built in the 1930's and had at least four layers of wallpaper in most of the rooms. And what was even worse was the fact that in some of the rooms the previous owners had painted over the top layer with gloss paint! Absolute nightmare to even start removing! My plan with this house is not to re-paper any of the walls. Instead, once any damaged plaster has been repaired, I will paint them with matt emulsion. Fortunately, so far I've not come across any wall with more than two layers of wallpaper.
  10. Any sort of pepper needs to be grown under cover here in Ireland. Glasshouse or polytunnel.
  11. Pity I can't use more than one emoticon for that post. I used "Love" because I also love many of the features of the new, old house as well. But I also wanted to use "Laugh" because of your final comment.
  12. Anyway, it's Friday, so here's my week 17 (of 52) black & white photograph of two young male strippers in my bedroom last Tuesday:
  13. I actually managed to get my lawns mowed yesterday afternoon, as the promised showers didn't arrive until the evening. If the weather forecast is correct (which I'm hoping it won't be) it looks as though the next week is going to struggle to get above 16C/61F here any day, with spells of rain or showers most days, and hardly any sun. Doesn't sound as though I shall get much garden work done, so I'll just have to try and motivate myself to get on with the wallpaper stripping, etc, indoors...
  14. Hi there, young man.
  15. Hi, Gary! All well in Garyland?
  16. Morning, bro (and everyone else) Overcast and dry here, at the moment, but showers promised for later in the day. Currently 15°C/59°F with a possible high of 19/66. Got a Zoom meeting starting in 5 minutes time, and then meeting some friends for a socially distanced lunch. Hope you all have a good day.
  17. As well as the hashtag "Genderqueer" in the above, I think there should also be hashtag "Ganderqueer"...
  18. After midnight... G'night all!
  19. Adventures are always good! I'm just imagining your squeals had you touched that electric fence as you crawled under it.
  20. I'm just imagining @Valkyrie's response when she reads that,
  21. Hi, young Albert!
  22. And you only have to look at it to know it's actually made of yellow cheese.
  23. Yea... I believe you, bro. Next thing I know, you'll be trying to convince me that the moon really is made of green cheese.
  24. G'day, Page!
