I've had a busy 24 hours or so...
First there was the Microsoft Teams meeting yesterday afternoon (which actually went a lot better than the last time I tried using Teams). Then last night I was busy remotely supporting a new volunteer for a helpline that I am involved with.
I have spent most of today adjudicating a recorded Concern Schools Debate. Concern is an Irish based charity and international humanitarian organisation that 'strives for a world free from poverty, fear and oppression.' I have been involved, mainly in fundraising, with them since 2012, but also got involved in the schools debates in 2018. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the current round of debates are not actually being held in person in the schools, but the members of each of the two school teams are having to record videos of their speeches. They're currently in the knockout phase, and I received a link to the recordings of one of the debates yesterday afternoon, so have spent a good few hours today with headphones on, staring into a screen, and filling in marking and feedback sheets. I've now scanned in those completed sheets and emailed them off to Concern, so can have a few hours to myself.
I was thinking of heading into the garden, but have decided that, as it's at least dry (if not all that warm or sunny), to take a walk within my 5 kilometre from home allowed limit, and see what's changed in the past week or so in my neighbourhood. I've an idea brewing in my head for a piece of Haiku, but need to see just what wild flowers are in bloom at the moment before deciding on the opening line for that piece of poetry...
