  1. "Tyler, you're up." A voice calls and Tyler finds himself entering a small room which contained nothing but a table. Upon the table was a gun, a knife, a vial of poison and a container of pills. He considers each one before stepping back and shaking his head. "All of these are too obvious." He states as he bites his lip and crosses his arms. "The gun and knife carry too much of a risk of being traced due to DNA, and regardless they are hard to explain if you're caught with them.
  2. Zeke returns with rope he'd had to go all the way out to the car to retrieve, and securely ties Wyatt to a kitchen chair. He stands back, observing him critically. Tyler steps back, lost in his own thought about what this was. The whole thing felt off and yet Wyatt didn't seem like he was lying. His reactions were very, authentic. There was no reaction towards Zeke but he kept glancing at Tyler, putting him on edge. Zeke had been asking him questions and watching every single body movement inclu
  3. Zeke and Tyler make their way to the lifts in silence. Tyler felt a confusing combination of betrayal and understanding. He and Zeke had done the same thing to each other so it felt as though he couldn't be mad at Zeke about letting him go through what he did, because he'd turned around and thrown Zeke right under the bus to his boss of all people. Still, Tyler felt a lot more guilty than he thought Zeke needed to be about it. Sure, Zeke hadn’t told him about the danger he was in, that it was fa
  4. Zeke turns up back at the shed, hoping Tyler wouldn't have gone too far from his last location. He blares the car horn to let Tyler to know he was there. He figured even if Tyler was a distance away he’d hear it, and if he was smarter than he was afraid, he’d come to see where the noise was coming from. People trying to kill you tend to not want you to know they are coming, so a horn seemed like an easy way to let him know that he was not someone trying to threaten or hurt him. Zeke knew there w
  5. Tyler was missing. That was not part of the plan and to say Zeke was angry about how badly this ‘fake’ mission had played out, would be an understatement. Still, G was allowing him to take part in the debrief with the others, not in his office because that space was too small for this confrontation, instead they were having this discussing in the Black room, which was fitting given that everyone in this room today was at fault and on trail for their actions, answering questions to define what ac
  6. The drive is mostly silent, neither Zeke or Tyler felt like talking, for fear that they might screw the whole thing up and say more than they knew they should. There was once again, the sense that they couldn’t trust each other, because they couldn't. If this were a real mission, that would be the first mistake because on the field like this you had to be able to trust the person who was by your side. Of course, it was a fine line to find, because you also had to be willing to accept and do the
  7. The only thing worse than waiting for Zeke to come home was knowing that Zeke was not going to come and join him. Still, there was some comfort in knowing that Tyler had the place to himself. He was already planning little ways he could make it his own. Tyler had never lived on his own before, so it was pretty exciting for him. The situation as a whole was far from ideal, but he was going to make this work for him. Had he gone to college, he’d be decorating his dorm room, but instead it’s a tiny
  8. “Absolutely not.” Zeke scoffs at the idea, barely considering it a genuine offer. He couldn't see a reality where Tyler having a job in this agency would be of any benefit. “Why not? You don’t see potential in him.” G asks, not taking his eyes off Tyler, who was staring at him stunned into silence. He was trying to work out whether this was a joke, a test to see if he was gullible or something. Everyone waiting for him to reply so they can laugh at the fact he thought it was serio
  9. I couldn't decide who it would be, but it's certainly my subtle reference to it being one of the guys from the band. XD
  10. With some time before Zeke was due to come back and talk to him, Tyler was full of adrenaline. He was anxious and excited to finally get to sit down with Zeke and discuss all the questions burning in his mind. He was also very, very keen to know where things stood between them. He goes over what he hopes to hear, what he will say in response, important points he felt he needed to clarify and make with Zeke and almost the entire conversation is planned out by dinner. He only needed Zeke to say th
  11. Tyler didn’t know whether to punch Zeke in the face or throw himself into his arms with relief when he walks in the door. It’d been almost 2 days. He had thought he would be a few hours and dropped off the face of the Earth for almost 2 days! “Where the hell have you been?” Tyler shouts, apparently going for an enraged response. Zeke looked exhausted, walking straight through to the bathroom while Tyler followed close behind. “I have been so worried. And Corey couldn’t tell me anythin
  12. Goddamn I knew I should have run a ctrl+F search for his name before I posted it, muscle memory from typing that name a lot! XD I've edited it now. My bad. Haha
  13. Tyler wakes up alone in the dark, the only light coming from around the corner where the kitchen was. He drags himself from bed and starts smacking his uninjured hand against the wall to find the light switch, the noise gaining Zeke’s attention and a light flickers on from the other side of the room. Tyler spins around quickly just in time to see Zeke quickly turning his back on him. “Sorry.” Zeke apologizes and Tyler frowns before looking down and realizing he’d not gotten dressed si
  14. “So this is where you work? So depressing, no wonder you have to pop pills to get through the day.” Wyatt smiles at Zeke. “I can honestly say I didn’t see this coming.” Zeke admits and steps forward closer to his betrayer, looking into his eyes curiously. Tyler felt awful for Zeke, he knew that Wyatt meant more to him than just a mission and this would undoubtedly be killing him inside, despite his strong façade. Corey wasn’t looking at Wyatt at all, he seemed to be completely disasso
  15. As Tyler comes to, he can hear the murmuring of voices around him. He opens his eyes but the brightness of the room makes him quickly close them again. He blinks rapidly, desperately trying to get them to adjust to the light, unsure of if he was still in danger. “You alright?” Zeke asks. “Take it easy. You’ve lost a lot of blood.” “You shot me?” Tyler looks shocked beside himself where Zeke sat. “Well I couldn’t let you see where we were going. And as a bonus, you
  16. Tyler runs fearlessly to the enemy's car, taking them by surprise, and sending a surge of panic through Zeke who now had to decide whether to give himself up to save Tyler from this stupid act or to use this as a decoy for his own escape. It was as though Tyler had completely turned on him, Zeke couldn’t hear what was being said but Tyler was frantically pointing towards the house to give away where Zeke was hiding. And after what Zeke had said to him, it made sense, Tyler probably didn’t know w
  17. In the week that followed, Zeke barely let Tyler out of his sight. Tyler took it well, despite being embarrassed and ashamed of himself. Being close by all the time helped Zeke to establish what was triggering Tyler’s eating disorder. For the most part, Tyler would accept food when it was offered to him or at the normal times of breakfast, lunch and dinner he would habitually eat the meals but there were a few times when he seemed more emotional, that he would reject food or claim to not be hung
  18. “Tyler! It’s me, I’m home.” Zeke calls out, knowing exactly where to check first, his pace is quick but he was exhibiting a controlled calmness as he approaches the bathroom. “Tyler, are you alright?” Zeke asks with a gentle knock on the door. To his surprise, Tyler opens the door immediately. “Hey, I’m sorry you went through that.” Zeke apologizes, moving towards Tyler to give him a comforting hug. “DON’T TOUCH ME!” Tyler shouts in a panic, pushing Zeke’s hands away and falling to th
  19. Zeke walks all through the house with Tyler following directly behind him, clinging to his jacket and. They go outside and walk all the way around the perimeter of the house. Zeke takes Tyler through the house a second time just to satisfy him that they were not in any danger, checking every place anyone could possibly be hiding. Tyler looks through each room nervously as they walk through and finally accepts that Zeke was right, there was no one there but the two of them, they had been too thor
  20. Well I screwed this up and accidentally published an unedited chapter so I apologize for causing confusion. This story is one I've written a long time ago and characters names and story progression has been changed and edited as I've been posting it on here, so I'm pretty embarrassed that the chapter was posted before I had gone through it and edited any of it. Wow I need to never be up posting things past midnight again. Really sorry for the mistake!
  21. “Tyler.” Zeke sits beside him on the bed. “Have you ever had anti-depressants before?” He asks calmly. Tyler rolls over and looks at him nervously. He hated feeling vulnerable but wanted so badly to have someone he could talk to, about everything. The isolation of being dead was harder to live with than he’d imagined. More than ever, and perhaps because of the reason behind the fight they’d just had, Zeke felt a need to comfort Tyler, he wanted to be able to do something more than just stand and
  22. Zeke trudges down the hallway and peeks into the bedroom almost 20 minutes later. It looked like Tyler was fast asleep on the bed. Zeke decides he has to at least stay the night and be home when Tyler woke up, he wanted so desperately to help Tyler get through this but he felt way out of his depth with it. As he stands leaning against the doorframe staring into the room in deep thought, he realizes there was a very faint sobbing sound coming from the bed. Zeke frowns and looks over at Tyler, obs
  23. It quickly fell into a routine, though Tyler’s days were so monotonous and un-eventful that he could barely tell one from the next. He spent most of his time just waiting for Zeke to come home. When he was out, Tyler couldn’t relax, he was fidgety and agitated the whole time, planning escapes and imagining invasions to the point that he sometimes felt like it was real, but when Zeke was home he felt like he was safe from the whole world, and from the torment of living in silence with his own tho
  24. “You’re still here?” Zeke asks genuinely surprised to see Tyler standing in his kitchen making coffee the next morning. “Of course I am, I want to know what the hell is going on and I don’t mean I need to know all your secrets, I just need to know enough that I am not still questioning whether I can trust you or not.” Tyler answers bluntly. Zeke raises an eyebrow at the demanding tone, pulling out a seat at the table and sitting down, ready to listen. “The more you know, the more
  25. The footsteps get closer and closer then Zeke walks in to see Tyler standing in the far corner of the kitchen with a knife in his hand staring at the doorway, white as a ghost. “Tyler hi, put that down.” Zeke says calmly as he walks towards Tyler who cowered further into the corner of the room. “Did you call here?” Tyler asks, still holding the knife up weakly. “No. Why?” Zeke frowns, he walks closer to Tyler, his hands up in a passive stance as he gets closer to the spoo
