It comes from the Domaholics forum. ITE stands for "In The End". So, DVITE would be Dimitri, Vladimir In The End -- in other words, Dimitri and Vladimir would end up a couple by the end of the story (or eventually). JEDITE would be Jon, Eric and Dimitri In The End -- the threesome that CJ refers to.

No -- you just have three of the first five posts in this thread. That 60% -- and the purpose of the thread is to ask if you're a lurker. I don't think the poll is needed -- the posting on this thread demonstrates the answer quite satisfactorily

Hmm... something is screwy. It shows two votes, but there is only one option with any votes and it only has one vote. We're already missing a vote. I wonder if CJ has set it up so that any "No" votes automatically get deleted?

Don't panic. I have no intention of starting a poll, asking if the members think you are a lurker. I'm happy for you to keep your delusions. Of course, if another member started such a poll, I would vote in it. I'm sure many of the lurkers out there would also do so, since it's possible to vote without losing their lurker status -- after all, voting doesn't alter their posting rate.

A "lurker" who, according to the "Today's Top 20 Posters" list has made 28 posts in the last 24 hours -- well clear of number two (myself) who was on 22 (this will make 23). I've been trying really hard to keep up with his posting rate, but I keep failing He's just too fast for me....

Why? Mr. "four posts away from 500" Emoe? I don't believe honesty should be treated so negatively. While we all know CJ is in denial, but he otherwise functions as a (moderately) decent person and he should be granted the respect that we expect for our own little foibles.

And what about the EDITEs, the ETSITEs? And, of course, we can't forget the JEDITEs

Actually, there is a big difference. On the internet, there is the illusion of anonymity, which you don't have in a face-to-face situation. If someone asked you if you are the person who visits GA, you are able to deny it because there isn't direct evidence that it's you (though there are sometimes ways you can be tracked, given the right tools and the right privileges). You can't do that face-to-face. Good luck, Robbie! It sounds like a good first meeting, though I was surprised at the low number of males.

We would, but I noticed that they left immediately after arriving. If they'd stuck around, I would have flown up to greet them properly -- I know Brisbane airport well -- at least the domestic terminal. The international terminal is a short distance away, but there is a free train shuttle between them (if you show your boarding pass). I remember one time arriving in Brisbane and going down the stairs to the luggage collection area. There was a good looking young man dressed in the latest hippy fashions (if this was still the 70s, that is, instead of soon after 2000) and holding a large bunch of flowers. While I waited, he grinned, moved forward, gave the flowers to another young man who had just come down the stairs, and followed it up with a hug. It was so sweet to watch The best part was how completely unself-conscious the two guys were. Is that the sort of welcome you are talking about, or do you prefer the one where we tell newcomers that Australia has something like 16 of the top 20 most venomous snakes in the world (including the top five)?

Actually, I disagree. It means it is easy to find that thread. If you leave it in the main forum, and you have two stories going at once, and both are on chapter 20 (say), then that means the FTL thread will be buried on the second, or even third, page. If it is in a forum by itself, it will be easy to locate for any new readers who come along and want to comment. Otherwise, they are likely to start a new thread in the main forum because they can't see one for FTL.

The separate threads per chapter works well. It also means that people can join in the fun, even if they haven't read the latest chapter, by posting in an earlier chapter's thread. Even if you're running more than one story at once, I don't see a problem. You are unlikely to have more than four active threads at any given time (latest and previous chapters for each story). However, I would suggest archiving the old story threads into a sub-forum once the story is completed and most people have commented on the last chapter. This keeps the top level forum tidy and with all "current" stories active, but preserves the older stories and their threads for easy access for anyone new coming along. Just my thoughts.

Something has just occurred to me -- sorry I'm so slow. When Jon said to Eric, "Let's get laid," it hadn't clicked what the situation was. For most guys, that's a wish -- if they say it, it's what they are hoping will happen. However, we're talking about celebrities here. If they want to get laid, they almost certainly will. It's an interesting change to the dynamics. They have sex when they want to, not when they can get it. Most of the time, Jon and Eric will be choosing NOT to have sex, and only having it when they want to. It's very different to the situation for most guys. I doubt it has much impact on the story, but the difference in the way they go out for sex was interesting. I also noticed The Scar's approach in the same chapter, which really wasn't that much different. In both cases the male is looking for some anonymous body to share their bed, with sex being the primary driver and anything else (like a relationship) being secondary (if considered at all). It's why I'm sure that Brandon and Chase won't be having sex in the next chapter -- they want the relationship first.

I can be pretty confident they won't. It'll be the straight ones having sex -- at least that's their intention. Whether they get to succeed remains to be seen...

I believe they're still looking for a delivery van big enough for it to fit in.
