  1. OK. You can trust me, I'm a doctor . And let's get rid of those duodeneal ulcers that you didn't know about. 😉
  2. Please ignore. Duplicate that can't be deleted.
  3. That's not good. My surname is Healer in Gaelic. Do you need a trickle?
  4. We just knew that Bill's healing was going to reveal something big. I had guessed wrongly that he would be an ancestral clan member to Kellar. Better still, it turns out to be even more dramatic than that. He's Sybil's long lost earth mate. Wow. That's going to knock at least fifty years off them both, once they complete their joining. If I know Sybil, theyll be teaching the young'ns a trick or two, I can tell ya' At the very least Miss Sybil's Seer abilities are going to be supercharged with a vengeance. No more nudges there. Hang fire for some dramatic revelations from the old dear. Good to hear that Kellar and Tobyn are considering becoming pro active in going out to search for the remaining hunters. Those fanatics do need to be eradicated. I guess its not in their nature but they have no choice if Shifters are to enjoy a peaceful existence, for the first time in their history. The idea of using the internet to create networked connections to other Packs, is a great one and is where they need to be, in this techy age. Loved the depth of the description that went into whole healing process. And having Tobyn resting behind him, in an intimate embrace, clearly energised Kellar on a multitude of levels. I think we all felt that. As ever, loads more to look forward to. What decisions, if any, will be made at the Vega meeting? Will there be a split and, if so, will Clarence insist on a all or nothing response. I hope not. What will the real Arthur be like when he wakes? With Sybil on his mind and lips for the last 70 years, he's damn well going to Morningstar, whatever about anyone else. It's merely a case of whose going with him. 😉 I think there's no doubt that there will be a split. In that case, I can see Clarence offering to do the honourable thing and allowing those who want, to go to Morningstar for a chance of survival. Clarence would stay behind with the remainder and be the Captain that goes down with his sinking ship. Another great chapter Gary. Loads of possibilities. It's getting time for Vega to make up it's mind: sink or swim? A new dawn beckons: the chance to broaden it's horizons, to fulfil what was foretold.
  5. I'm with you on this and have been for a while. Maybe two hunters found out about the Prophecy and went to kill Kellar and his parents. Somehow, the hunters got killed and it was their bodies found in the car wreck. Kellar's parents thought it too risky to bring up Kellar, so they left him safe on the side of the road to get picked up and placed in the welfare system. Kellar's parents can't be around now though or they would surely have reintroduced themselves to their son. What I am certain of, is that the information locked in Fendral and Bill's minds, is going to be pivotal to this whole mystery. Darn that crazy imagination of mine: breaking loose and running amok on me, again. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤪
  6. Just loving the chance to spend some relaxation time here in Vega. I'm enjoying just observing how everyone is reacting to the previous evening's discussion of the Morningstar proposal. It's about where we expected in terms of the initial resistance to it. Great that Clarence sees the practicality of it but he's a good Alpha and won't force it, so the risk of failure is still real. It's great to see how both Delia and Logan are warming to their mates. Logan's initial resistance appears to have dissipated and you can almost sense his excitement at living a new life with Tilly, her sister and his three new Bros. There was always going to be some resistance to the move though. In the end, I think Clarence will give his blessing to Kellar to play the saviour card to the full, as a wake up call to those who need convincing. I'm conscious of the fact that there's only 13 chapters left G. Please tell me you've got plans to start working on a sequel. My Wolf demands it. But I'm asking nicely. 😘
  7. Hi G, welcome to the joy of what many of your other readers have found. This is no two dimensional story, moving from A to B. You have created a very believable world here and populated it with very credible people, that we can all relate to. Out of necessity, some characters we know better than others, at various times, but then we get to know them more intimately, as every chapter unfolds. They are all spinning plates that you have set in motion, my friend. So dont be surprised or afraid, when someone you failed to pay attention to, comes crashing down around you. Kellar and Tobyn are our main focus, in the first observation of this tale. But then, there are so many others perspectives, to read it from. I'm not surprised, that I have come across so many self-professed, re-readers in the attaching comments. There are so many ways, not only to view this tale, but more importantly, to feel it too. So glad that you can still get that from something you've clearly strived hard to create. This story demands to be a shared reading experience, as the emotions it generates, are not meant to be experienced alone.
  8. After the intensity of the last chapter it was good to feel the relative relief in this one. Relief that Logan is the good man that we saw from the way he acted as a boy. Relief too that he may be on the road to a full recovery. No wonder the guy was demented with all that incessant noise and head pain. Relief and hope too for his dad, Delia and the whole Vega community that watched him grow up. There was fabulous news for four about their earth mates and while many will no doubt be disappointed it wasn't them, they'll soon realise that there is hope that many more mates will be found in other packs. Kellar and Tobyn's ability to communicate by thought is being put to great use for compassion, support and more than the occassionaly joke. "Gift of the gab! Seriously?". " I think he meant it as a compliment, babe." So funny. The hope is that the Vega community can agree on the best option for their survival. But big questions remain on whether they will all accept a move over to Morningstar. Kellar may need to step out of his comfort zone and play the role of saviour, to bring everyone together. I can't wait to see how far Kellar can go with Bill's healing. No one's seen Bills Wolf. I'm still convinced he may hold a clue to Kellar's ancestry. Move over Miss Sybil, youre not the only one getting nudges these days! 😉 Great chapter Gary. I love stories where the personalities shine through and boy do we have a lot of them milling around in this one.
  9. You can't fail to be impressed by the diversity of everything that is happening in this chapter. First the explanation of that incredible painting, the prophecy of the saviour and its implication for Kellar and the Shifter communities. Then there's the relief of the Hunter being found and killed. Everything we learn about old man Bill and his colour disruptions and how they tie into Fendral's inability to change back into human form. Then how Fendral may have something really critical that they need to hear. Finally, Logan awakes prompting both Kellar and Tobyn to respond "here we go". Is it, at all, possible that this may be as dramatic as anything that has happened before, in this event filled day. It's not often, you get to see so many story threads, inter-weaving together, as seemlessly as this; each generating, as many intriguing questions as they provide answers to. A ball of strings, where we have one of each end, in our grasp, and are tasked to unravel each matching end, before our story finally unfolds. There's almost too much to say, so I'll try to summarise. It looks like we have a magical race of Shifters, from somewhere like Ireland or Scotland. Cahlar had great wealth and connections but little or no human contacts, or he would have known about silver's properties. So his important connections must have been Shifters too. Cahlar was a fierce warrior, who it seems had one or two daughters emmigrate to the New World. That was centuries ago and presumably Cahlar died, his wherabouts unknown. More recently, Seers were able to foresee that Kellar's mother was carrying a saviour for this generation of Shifters, and so named him saviour and gave him a modern day spelling of Kellar. An interesting part of the prophecy, is that we are told that there is but one Cahlar that is going to appear. There is no second one as in a distant descendant. "Cahlar will appear again when he is needed, and shine bright light into the darkness.” One explanation is that Kellar is the reincarnated form of Cahlar himself, and no one else. I dare say, that thought, must have crossed Kellar's, confused state of mind, as one of many possibilities, when he first stared into the painting. "Appear? Strange wording… wasn’t it?" We also get our first glimpse of Logan's true personality. The boy who ran around the vegetable patches, near old man Bill, and never failed to wish him good night. Let's hope that boy is the one that emerges from the coma. Ian has an interesting surprise this evening, once he dumps the killers truck in the lake; as will Delia and Hutch. The news of one consolidated pack, with a council of leaders, Keeper, Seer, Healer and saviour and all the pairs of earth mates that can regenerate the damage done by the Malaise. Add to that, a viable economic plan for Vega and this is surely going to make sense, eventually. But I'm looking forward to some interesting disagreements first. So here we go! Time to see just see how interesting a character you really are, Logan. Are you going to be more than just a match for Tilly? I certainly hope so! It was certainly a different kind of chapter Gary. I wasn't quite sure. Unlike the rest of the story I thought it was and then it became and finally, it finished up really . That's what I really thought about it!
  10. Thank you B. The biggest problem with the 's is that they encourage you to look for meaning in the rest of Gary's response. That, I have discovered, is how Fendral lost his mind and is the very reason he ran away. Of course you know that now!
  11. Nice story Gary. This is not a shameless attempt to get my 400th like due to my OCD nature.
  12. OK so is this a subtle way of saying that I may have jumped off the deep end, a bit? I've been doing that a lot, lately, here and elsewhere. Maybe I do have an overactive imagination, after all. But it all seems so real to me at the time. 🙃
  13. Does a picture merely paint a thousand words? The imagery of that huge painting of Kellar overseeing the Pack's migration is about as striking, as it can ever get. There's no denying that this is Kellar: who else has a striking coat of white and dark chestnut halves and blue eyes? What it signifies, is beyond the dramatic. Whoever was the artist? Where did that prophetic vision come from? What is the extent of the event being portrayed? Is it just about Vega or could it possibly be way beyond that and about a saviour for all the Packs? A Kellar that had been foretold for these ages. Stand before that in amazement Kellar Haylan and know that your Destiny is now staring you between the eyes! Wow!
  14. I'm so glad to see that Logan became priority number one. On a humane level, Logan was being incapacitated by his brain tumour. Not only was it physically hurting him, and causing him seizures, but the longer that was there, the greater the risk of irreversible damage, to his brain. It was also a mercy for his father Clarence, who was having to endure seeing his only son, disfigured. We haven't seen Logan's true personality yet, and can only guess at the child that Clarence once nurtured in his arms. But hopefully, we will get to see the real Logan soon, and he will make a full recovery. Of course, there is an outside chance that the true Logan may not be much friendlier than what we've already seen. If that is so, at least there is always a Plan B. That's where Tobyn and Tilly get to kick his furry ass. I do like the sound of that one too. So it's a win win situation, as far as I'm concerned. 😉 Another great chapter G. Looking forward to great things happening between these two Packs.
  15. Yeah; good point G. 😏
  16. I forgot to speculate on who the potential mates could be. We know of Logan but it I do hope it's Clarence and maybe Douglas and Delia are other viables. It doesn't help that I'm not seeing any colors right now. 😉 I find it a little awkward that partners in the Morningstar pack would consider changing mates if they find their earth mates. I see the need for children but the social dynamics of a discarded individual having to witness their former partners ecstatic state, doesn't sit easily with me. The old mascot man in the wheelchair is intriguing too. Why has he no pattern and so little brown. This is a wild guess but what if he was a passenger or victim in the same fatal crash that Kellar's parents were in. Maybe he is Kellar's grandfather and the person who rescued Kellar from the car. He has chosen to stay in human form so has lost most of his brown. Was that to get medical help and not be detected. Reversing the effects of the first Shift, if that's possible. So many possibilities. 🤔🤔🤔 My head hurts but I hope yours is feeling better today G 🤕🤒🤧
  17. Well First Contact has been made between packs. Lucky they knew Denver or I'd doubt they'd get to meet the Vega community. They are naturally living in fear of being exterminated by the Hunters. I am surprised at how friendly the Alpha: Clarence Stanley is. And no less than five matching earth mates; just incredible! I did expect Logan to be another old Warren type, based on what Denver had said, when we first met him. But I wouldn't be too harsh on Logan; he is really sick. Having a massive tumour in his brain is clearly affecting his personality and causing his paranoia. We havent seen the real Logan yet and there is a good chance that his "madness" will disappear, if Kellar isn't too late with his healing. I think we'll find that the earth mother has worked hard to find two bull headed males that are up for the challenge of two equally spirited sisters. Of course, we all know that those two lads don't stand a chance. 😉 Kellar's restraint in not ripping out Logan's throat amazes us once again. Avoiding killing Tilly's earth mate was a priority. But trying to discover how far you can push Kellar, while hurting his mate, is not any game that I would ever want to play. It's like throwing him a bone but not in a good way. 😉 The gift of the copper chains was huge. Before that, Clarence clearly had a view that it was every pack for themselves. But then we could see just how emotional he became when he realised the generosity of the Morningstar Pack: “Why would you bring chain for us?”. They had finally found someone who cared. Whatever happens now, that was a game changer. It has fundamentally started the Alliance of the Packs; I'm sure of it! I'll save you the trouble G and add my own one in here
  18. Darn it, 5am and off to work. Will have to wait till this evening to find out 🤔
  19. I'm pretty sure you have G, if I care to look back. At least it feels like you did
  20. Mine too ... if im predicting this right
  21. Kellar's obvious delight at the possibility of a weekly getaway to his cabin retreat is fully shared by Tobyn. They are the perfect match. Kellar is a patient man but I sense he loses something of the independence that he was used to, whenever he is compromising to Elinor. Nothing major but enough to irk him little by little. Certainly enough to want to retreat to the cabin each week. Well who knows when this joining will be complete and the earth mother will finish bestowing her powers or even what those powers may be? What I feel certain about is, that the mist generated here, wasn't it. I think when they do finally complete their joining, we will all know about it; like super sized fireworks and whatever else the earth mother has planned for her two special boys. No pressure G but it's your fault for having set the bar so high. I do know you'll be up to the task. Cuddles, sleep, wake up chill time and then on the road to Vega. Life is good but will Vega be?

    Chapter 1

This has the basis of a great story. How far apart can everyday mundane reality and Andrew's wild imaginings get. I expect the initial humour to give way to pathos once we realise that Andrew and Chris are not anywhere close to connected in real life. Yet another interesting set of characters for us to ingest.
  23. Another great chapter and what an hilarious character Warren is turning out to be. ...don’t count on me to save your furry asses for a while… So funny G. With Adeline around, he needs to pay more attention to his own skinny ass; that's for sure! 😉 I sense Warren is becoming the third member of the band and he's very much the third bro, to Kellar and Tobyn. We are beginning to see a lot of new abilities since they completed their Joining. There's the wolf telepathy, the quick healing plus their enhanced joint instinct: as when they attacked and out manoeuvred the Hunter together. The wild hot sex was just a small fringe benefit and a price worth paying apparently. 😉 Boys and their toys! 😋😜 After a few stressful chapters due to the threat of an expert killer in the vicinity, the tide feels like its turning in favour of the pack. With that final round of applause has come a new wave of cautious optimism. We can finally look forward to the next Chapter with some excitement in our veins.

    Chapter 10

Mr. Bennett appears remorseful that he didn't have the courage to stand up to Mr. Griffiths, the way these graduates had done. At least, he'll strive to do better going forward.
  25. That was real close and real lucky. It was an eerie opening: The three-quarter moon still hung in the sky when Kellar and Tobyn ventured forth, although it was constantly being obscured by fast-moving clouds. You immediately sensed that they should have abandoned their life-threatening mission when the wind prevented them from using their main weapon which was scent. I keep wondering why they don't take a gun with them. There has to be a way they can create a waist pack to hold guns. They could have changed into human form when they got close enough to Reznick and shot him from behind, instead of going close quarters with an expert with a knife. I hope they learn their lesson. The cruelty of the hunters was again emphasised by this comment: Morph, and I’ll burn you alive. Stay in your dog fur and I’ll kill you both cleanly. It was great that Warren was at hand to save the day. You could feel his relief after he collapsed and became emotional once he realised the enormity of what he'd done. Warren also provided the funniest moments throughout which were a welcome relief to all the tension: It was an incredible shot, Warren.” “No… no it wasn’t… not really. I was aiming for his head.” And “So, when I become a wolf, will I get one of those?” There was heaps more too, with him asking Kellar and Tobyn what was so special about the previous evening. Then seeing him sweat it out about Adeline and his boss sir Denver whose having a lot of fun with him. So relieved that they all got out of this in one peice. But they have to learn a lot from this as they rode their luck mightily tonight.
