  1. So its all gone according to plan without even a hitch. I was wondering why Boone and Coy were dealing with old Corker for the Wagon when the story hadn't covered their buying the land. Then you just threw it in saying the team cost the same as the 132 acres. Wow. Was expecting the team to be a bit cheaper but I guess it's the land that's cheap, by comparison. We still don't know what Phineas saw in their land and why he valued it so much. Maybe he wanted an out of the way location for himself and a possible boyfriend? Who knows. It's probably just about agents profiteering from reselling. I liked all the talk of scything and piking of hay. Took me back to how I spent my summer's on my uncle's farm when i was a kid 😎 And as for Boone and Coy, they now have the perfect set up for appearances, as two neighbouring ranchers, sapping their trees in complete privacy. Seems like it may be all about to end as a "happily ever after". Sweet chapter Gary.

    Truth & Honesty

Joel is so assured in his sexuality, having the confidence to ask if Trevor wanted sex with him. He clearly loves Lisa and fidelity. In doing so, Joel appears to be confirming to Trevor, that Joel's a lifelong committed straight. That is, of course, unless he was hoping to test the water with Trevor and was covering his tracks with this story, only after Trevor had declined the offer. Dirk not gay. I'm not buying that one. So nothing went down in Mykonos, Greece's gay principality. Looks like Trevor will be travelling alone soon. I was sure that Joel was going to do his utmost to set Trevor up with a travelling companion.
  3. The author has certainly given this plot a great deal of thought. I wouldn't want to be in Trevor's position right now. It's hard to see a way in which Trevor can possibly avoid the professional hit that is now in progress. Not unless his old suspicions of a bomb on board are rekindled for some reason. Maybe Dirk will give him good reason for thinking that he wants him dead. Then Trevor might rethink the real purpose of his dad's lawyers visit. Bridget and George have turned out more corrupt and deadly than we previously thought. The cartel are another independent body with their own agenda. And now we have Rachel's willingness to collude with law enforcement and what that might have instigated in the way of covert operations. Maybe Rachel was granted anonymity for what she found on board that incriminated Bridget and the cartel, and her disappearance was staged to look an accident at sea. It's all becoming really intriguing.

    Meltemi

Why on earth is Mike wasting his holidays with Blake. Twenty dollar tip was a disgrace but I suppose while Trevor is growing his Charter business, it can lead to way more in future referrals. That was a long chapter. There's a real sense of foreboding and dread with Bridget recruiting Sanchez and the cartel to place a hit on Trevor. He's only a young lad with little or no resources to protect him from the wiles of the world. That surely has to change. We learned of Bridget's mega wealth and how she "courriers" things. The cartel would have been happy with one free courrier trip from Bridget, so its clearly some sort of smuggling activity that generates a lot. Drugs or gems, I guess. It seems that Ares was blow up with a bomb, commissioned by Bridget which will become obvious, if Trevor finds the wreck. Did Rachel survive and move to Australia to keep her identity safe and avoid any further attempts on her life by the Cartel? The story has just grown arms and legs.
  5. Surely it's not too late for those rats to make a cameo performance, in the last few chapters. 😉
  6. Im not sure which would have been easier. Getting two rats into a wool sock or getting both Boone and Coy together? I😉
  7. My English teacher used to say good poetry conveyed the fullest meaning, in the fewest of words. On that basis, this is poetry of the highest calibre
  8. At long last, both Boone and Coy get to share eachother, with all the consumate intimacy that their young hormone ravaged bodies had finally demanded for release. I often feel that your stories focus but sparingly, on the most intimate details of the sexual acts between your leading characters. In doing so, it profers your readers enough breathing space, to focus on the purest of passions, that first exists between your protagonists, before they give full vent to that passion's release, in physical form. Quite simply, it's what distinguishes a romantic and artful representation of true love from a mere act of pornography. I was ever so mindful, throughout of the major differences for youths in those days and now. The internet makes it so easy for today's youths to learn everything there is to know about sex, in full graphical as well as textual detail. But back in the days of Coy and Boone, they would have only acquired that knowledge by vocal offerings from a few close peers and the odd experienced youth like Lucas. I also imagine that the guilt may have been far greater to overcome, given that they would have been so isolated and possibly unaware of any others, like themselves. A brilliantly written chapter Gary. I knew you wouldn't leave us hanging for too long. 😘 I'm looking forward to seeing whether the guys can acquire the land of their dreams, and how everything will pan out (a clear reference to panning for gold, I now realise). Maybe I do need more time than everyone else, as you previously pointed out.
  9. Well that chapter finally brought to rest a lot of issues that had been quagmired since the start of the story. The two large parcels at the end of the road turned out to be the perfect havens for each of them. Coy's hollering, a liberation of all the stresses that he had bound within him over the years: wanting to be with Boone, safe in a wilderness that encompasses everything that they now survey, and are soon about to own. Coy's natural talent for kissing proved way more persuasive for Boone, than anything Coy could have said. In the end, Boone simply needed to shut him up. 😉 As others have pointed out, the land is an Eden filled with fruit, springs and all manner of resources that they could have ever hoped for. It may be just the way my mind works but the spiritual symbology abounds aplenty. This Eden, Coy's handing of an apple to Boone, references to the missing "widow-maker" (a serpent perhaps?). There may be more to Genesis here than meets the eye. I have an ominous feeling that everything is going to become absolutely perfect, just prior to the proverbial fall.
  10. This chapter has changed everything. The charter has added a new interesting dimension to the adventure. Joel's last few weeks are no longer going to be more of the same. My earlier suspicions of an organised crime syndicate, has become a reality. Bridget has really shown her true colours, as she utilises them to place a hit on Trevor, at a premium rate. Bridget also appears to have had her husband killed as she laughs at how it's morally acceptable within wedlock. She needs taking out! How ever is Trevor going to survive these New immense dangers?

    Making Plans

This comment seems to have hit the mark and would also explain the statute of limitations re getting legal ownership of missing treasure. But surely Rachel wouldn't voluntarily give up her son all those years just to get rich. She must have feared for her life. There has to be way more to this mystery as we are barely one-fifth of the way through.

    Making Plans

Well I'm feeling smug about spotting a few things earlier in the story. Detective Albert was the person sailing the yacht to and from Bridget's house and is furthermore romantically involved with her. I also expected Trevor and Joel to visit Mykonos which is renowned for its gay festivals. I'm just surprised that neither of them seem aware of that yet. Maybe Trevor is but is being discreet so that Joel doesn't taunt him relentlessly about it. We'll see. I wonder where Albert was searching. Maybe he's try to locate the Ares because it will implicate both him and Bridget in its scuppering. Maybe that's the reason Bridget is calling in "the Associates", whoever they may be.

    Meetings

The worry is what doesn't Trevor know about the dangers of crossing the Southern Indian Ocean. Only the fortune of meeting Bob and Meanie helped Trevor with some of the perils. But how complete a picture is that? Navigating this journey without any prior experience of this Ocean or anyone experienced on board sounds suicidal. I guess Joel picked up on that too. Regarding Lisa entrusting everything to Bridget, it all seems naive and a major mistake. These clandestine visitors that have to make good their escape by boat on Lisa's last two trips may just be to save Bridgets embarrassment or something that will be a risk to Trevor given Lisa's lack of discretion.
  14. Hahaha. Oh I get it now! 🤓 🤪. Duh!
  15. Keep up, Ivor I can be forgiven for thinking they were naked under that bed-roll but directions; well they're black and white.
  16. Yes I can see it, only they wouldn't be doing it naked this time, given how far north they are. 😁
  17. Hi Albert, I did wonder if there could be gold in the river. Now wouldn't that be ironic?
  18. I also regret having drawn attention to this Gary. Believe me, there is nothing repetitive about your stories that warrants you giving serious consideration to it. In fact, every one of your stories has been different for the reasons you felt necessary to spell out. Your only fault is that you allow people like me to comment in jest at your great works. I need to stop that and seriously consider the impact my comments can have on those who try hard, and succeed greatly, in excelling their art form. My humble apologies Gary. Please don't feel the need to change a thing. Each of your stories stands out on its own merits.
  19. Seriously? I will have to go and re-read things. The version going on in my mind, together with your explanations of it, were quite different then. I may have unwittingly besmirched your good name, with my sullied mind, my good Sir. Oops!
  20. Unless I'm very much mistaken, I think you'll find that scene has been done, and dusted, a couple of times over.
  21. And you won't be the only one, my friend.
  22. How exciting was that? Larkspur seems everything they'd hoped for. The town has all the amenities they could want and everyone they've met, has welcomed them, with a sociable nod or a greeting. It feels like a great place that they can call home. I keep saying "they" and not just Boone for one good reason. Coy is totally, every bit as excited as Boone, about the place. Coy's telegraphed his money there too. At this stage, I'll wager that only Gary, is audacious enough to try and convince us, Coy is simply there to help Boone get settled in. No way Jose! Boone must be pleased at how Coy is equally as excited about the place, as himself. No pressure for sure but Boone must be glad that his friend may wan't to settle there too. Those two large 130 acre plots at the end of the road would be very private indeed. And wasn't Coy only thinking about that very same thing, the previous day? Coy can see all the possibilities for an exciting new life for himself. He could mill all that forestry, north of the river, if he didnt want to farm, and those two, merged together, would form a pretty darn good sight; or did I mean site. 😉 It's finally all coming together Gary. Great chapter; best yet!

    Unraveling

Yes, Joel reading Treavors journal was totally unacceptable. He needs to know that his own actions are probably far more reprehensible than anything recorded in a private diary. Still I'm eager to know what that was 😉

    Deuling Theories

Well at least Trevor didn't need Joel to be in the room with him, offering advice on how to make out with Torsten and that about breaks the duck. Trevor's mum and Bridget's husband appear to have been involved in some shady criminal activity which got Bridget's husband killed and sent Trevor's mum missing. Dirk obviously knew but couldn't disclose it without incriminating his wife and maybe himself. With the statute of limitations nearly up on a conviction, Dirk needed to keep Trevor away from discovering that his mum had sabotaged the Cat and probably feigned her own death. Its sad that Dirk couldn't trust this information to his own son. I suppose given both their volatile natures, that reflects badly on both of them. Still you would have hoped that Dirk being the adult, could have managed it far better, in the seven years since the Ares went missing. So onto the Greek islands. If Joel does his research right, he should discover that Mykonos is an ultimate gay tourist destination. Surely even Trevor can strike up a friendship there. Someone who can go that extra mile (or around the world) with him.
  25. Bridget's explanation implicating Lisa's dad in the anonymous email is highly speculative and rings untrue. In fact, Bridget has proven herself far more capable of searching the internet for all that information. Given that it helped focus the attention on Dirk, it appears that Bridget is most definitely orchestrating things, behind the scenes. The connection between Bridget husband's death and Dirk being a suspect, is an intriguing one and begs the question: what the business connection was. Will that be part of Dirk's secret, that it will be safe to reveal after Christmas? I doubt there's a bomb on board the Atlantis but it is yet another legitimate concern that Trevor has been forced to consider, because his dad won't trust him with his secret. Sadly there have been many others and will no doubt, be many more to come.
