I am so glad that having read some of your recent work I decided to go back to start reading your very first book and what a corker it has been. Great characters and superb plot. Having started late I never had to wait for the next chapter to be posted and thoroughly enjoyed the journey you took us all on . Love the comments from your other readers I can see I'm not the only fan. I look forward to now reading your next book.

I love Cassie to bits. I can see how good she was for Lex when they were growing up and that is still the case. I love the sleepover idea. Just brilliant. After not having seen Lex for 2 years she was going to do exactly what they had obviously done growing up.... have a sleepover and share the bed. Well done Ian for going along with it.

I don't wear my teacher's hat when I'm reading your stories... so what if there's the odd error overall there's fantastic flow to your work and that for me is most important. I can remember asking my wife how to spell a simple word after I had seen it written in many different ways when marking my pupils' creative writing efforts.... and your work is nothing like that xx

Glad you are feeling better. Wow what a reaction from the two littlies when they woke up and throughout the day but a very understandable one at the same time. They still obviously have a long way to go in dealing with being left behind by a parent/ parents. You have written about their fears very well and also covered your bases with how the two dads are going to tackle the situation.

I have read a few of your recent stories which prompted me to go back to your first stories hence me only just getting to grips with this one. Wowsers again. So Bear's badly beaten up body was dumped outside the carnival on his brother's orders.... was this him showing contempt for the fact that he had a gay brother or was that in some small way him doing that knowing Bear would then get the treatment he needed in hospital? I can only hope it's the latter and that there is still a bit of the old brother in there somewhere. Good thinking on Luke's part in getting his friends there to help him. Luke needs to have a serious, calm chat to his dad re his room and report the fact that Josh allowed his friend to just his his room/ bed. If I was Luke I would lock my door when I left it. -

Wowsers. I wasn't expecting any of this. Big change in his brother's attitude.. becoming more like his father. Scary. Clamping his tyre??? What mother does that to her son?? And to top it all.... his cousins' behaviour. That is simply too terrible. I do hope Luke investigates the carpet being dumped in Bear's van to see what that entails and if necessary gets help. Awesome chapter. -
I agree wit the comments above, we need to find out why he sat looking at the painting so much. Did it remind him of his past or was it something else. Yes I agree he would make a wonderful addition to the family

Am I the only one who feels sorry for Bear? He is in a very difficult situation with his family after coming out to them with the death of his father. I think we need to cut him some slack. Not an easy time for him. -
Great chapter glad Bear saw what was going on and came back to help. He should have been taken to the police and let the law deal with him he may even have got the help to deal with mental issues he clearly has. How is leaving him at the fair a good idea?
