Bob and the Biker is a brilliantly written snapshot of a life changing encounter for Bob, one that he will remember into old age. A quick but poignantly powerful read.

This was a wonderful "moment" and one that Bob will love off of for the rest of the summer. It will give him the courage to be himself and the confidence to go for what he wants. Brilliant.

Kate the Bride, has emerged as a real friend to Hugo. She has nursed him, shared what she has with him, confided in him about her private hell, and now faces the danger of the stalkers. As someone who experiences a repeated version of love that is forgotten as soon as it begins, she is throwing herself into helping Hugo find his real love, Alec. She is simply lovely. 😍

Nice to know you're no threat. Poor but very lucky Hugo. So the mechs are a man-made war machine designed to take over a static stream - an invasion. Sounds very human. As for Stoker, perhaps he is already having that cup of tea with the monster hive queen, discussing the finer points of Grouse hunting..... At least i hope he is.

What a delight filled chapter and much needed food for the next leg of the journey they are about to undertake. Alec and Hugo have finally declared their commitment to each other. And the short-k8ng is in charge. Even during my university days in the late '80s, the current freedom was unimaginable, but so very welcome.

I am very glad Hugo took the knife. As Sinjin said Stoker would give his life for Hugo, so don't let him give it needlessly because of pride. Excellent lesson! How did Alec get a shotgun 100 years out of its time? Who had visited him or where had he visited previously and forgotten?

A very interesting, indeed disconcerting, view of the devil. A creation of our own making that reflects back to us our deepest shames, greatest fears. Very poignant as you mentioned in one of the comments. This gives me pause for thought.

This story really is a masterpiece of imagination - somewhere between Gilliver's Travels and Coleridge's Xanadu.

I'm in a plane from Cape Town to Doha. Heading back to work after a long summer holiday. So this story has helped the time on-board to fly by. On-board Wi-Fi is grand.

Good thinking to get rid of the Witch Hunter at least for the time being. They will need to get their watches or chronometer though.

Well our two really did work their way through a Big time-based puzzle. Only to meet the puritan. Let's see how this encounter goes. My bets are on Alec.

Watchers is an intriguing historical sci-fi. Strange but enthralling, it will have you turning the page again and again. Alec and Hugo are a great duo and as they learn about the complexities of the world around them, they also learn about their own complexities and just how they unexpectedly compliment one another.

This is a domestic idyll but it can't last too long as they need to find their way through the maze of streams. To what end though? They could very easily set up home and have a grand old life together. Hugo and Alec sitting in an eyrie, kissing ....

It's a first for me too. The first few chapters had me wondering what on either was going on, but it's starting to gel and it's great. Loving it.
