Lorenzo’s response is something like a teacher’s to the naughty kid in the room - ignore him and praise the good ones in the vicinity. I’m not sure how this will go with the friar. Let’s see.

Fra Bennedetto’s influence will need to be neutralised if Matteo and Gianluca are to survive and flourish. Lauretta has morphed from a quiet pale little thing, into a woman of substance.

Lauretta and Danilo are twin towers of strength in this. The friars will not forget and this may come back to them later. They need to be prepared with information that can silence the order or with the city’s authority.

These two need to make decisions that are active, not passive. In doing this they are allowing the system to dominate them.

I’m not sure what to make of the developments. How are these two supposed to move forward? They are damned if they do and damned if they don’t with any of the options.

The systems they worked no longer need them to function, and infact, want them gone. This isa difficult situation to be in for anyone.

Lauretta has morphed into a wise woman in a short space of time. Danilo is correct and Gianluca and Matteo have very limited time to make important life altering decisions.

Young Theo is a little hellion and the Whiteflame Pack exists somewhat further in the past than we had anticipated, meaning that Theo Present is quite a mature world already. if they cannot change the past, to what extent can they manage the present with knowledge of the past? And this being a magical land, may mean that all rules are open.

And that Theo is much older than we might suppose.

Both Matteo and Gianluca are experiencing the same reality albeit in different settings. Both are used to lend credibility to the incredible, to justify the unjustifiable simply by their presence. Despite this they are on opposing sides of the fence and I can only see tragedy resulting, although I hope fervently that this is not the case.

What an odd experience for Gianluca. It is as though both Matteo and Gianluca are being groomed and while Matteo is being “hollowed out” by this, he is aware. Gianluca on the other hand, seems utterly oblivious of the manipulation he is experiencing. The danger for both is very real.

Gianluca and Matteo are dancing a dangerous dance, without even being aware of it. I’m still hoping for them.

They are all living on the edge of disaster and it can strike at any moment and from any direction. Sixtus will not take this happily.

Lauretta is turning out to be a very perceptive and realistic young woman. I hope she and Matteo can forge a relationship or partnership that will serve them and their families but allow them space to experience love.❤️

For people of faith, there will always be that balance between the ideal and the human. It may seem strange but deep faith can live side by side with flawed humans. This is why grace is needed after all. So I do understand Gianluca.

I wonder how curious Mattel’s bride is and to whom she will pledge allegiance in her heart? Her father or her new husband? Gianluca will be upset at the news of an earlier wedding. Florence is facing a grave threat and for a place steeped in intrigue and betrayals it may not go as swimmingly as Lorenzo would like.
