The Watchers is unlike anything else I have read. It is not quite a science fiction nor is it a historical drama , yet it has elements of both. Hugo and Alec are two completely different men who share the limelight as protagonists. Their adventures are complex and thought-provoking, romantic and powerful. It is an absolute MUST READ!

The separation has begun and I'm gutted. Hugo will become a force to reckoned with after the betrayal and the loss, temporary I hope, of Alec. I have loved every word of this story.

This was such a juicy chapter! Hugo finally realizes what a vile move Penderslut, as @drsawzall has named him, pulled when he gifted him the watch. Dottie commiserates and shares her own story and the betrayal she experienced from her mother. As for Reed - trouble lies ahead for sure. This is a very serious predicament our men find themselves in. Im hopeful that Stoker's bravery and Hugo's wit will see them through.

Absolutely true. If you overface show jumper too young, fear gets them and they don't achieve what they might have done with a more cautious introduction to ever higher jumps.

I'm really glad that Stoker impressed the counsellors. Hopefully whatever power he would have obtained through the Aggregate, will somehow be imparted to him.

This story gets increasingly complex and we now meet Sinjin in the guise of his sister Madam Woo, whom the Bride had tried to warn them against seeing. Hugo navigates the waters of social propriety with the ease of his upbringing whilst Stoker gawks in open astonishment. How is this meeting going to play out when the director of their travels is also a character along the journey?

Hugo and Alec need to be careful. Dottie and Woo. Two powerful woman who I suspect will want Alex and Hugo to do something dangerous for them. No accepting promises of easy paths home.

Well done Stoker! He won by rejecting the prize and has proved himself every bit Hugo's equal. They are becoming a true power couple in the world of streams.

He really is perfect for Hugo and they are perfect foils for one another. 😍 now he has to get on and beat this Fear Factor obstacle course. As he says, this is 'bout doin'.

Mother arrives. What is she? She seems like a kind of witch but is she THE witch or just, A witch? Quite rightly, they need to study the effects of Ray on wolves, but they need to be pretty snappy about it, as time continues to march on. Any news from the Vampire Court? They weren't happy, what is their plan? -
The pride that Ray and Gabriel have for one another is tangible as their love grows. There is no judgement yet from anyone, just an undeniable realisation that these two are fated mates. The vampires however are concerned and this is understandable given the response we have already seen for the saved vampire. I think Ray is something more than a wolf, bit what? An elemental?

It seems understood that Ray has brought back the power to shift seamlessly, as well as being Gabriel's true mate. Was he a born wolf? Was he turned at some point rhat he cannot remember? Given the power he has with vampires and wolves will he also shock the witches? Just who is Ray?
