  1. Thank you so much! Between this comment and the next, this is what keeps me going. I'm glad you loved it! Patch! I didn't mean to make you cry, but I'm incredibly happy you found this chapter so moving! I'm hoping to write in other genres too! I started a secret project, and boy...oh boy, I have really high hopes for it. My editor doesn't even know about it! But I'm not taking any extra time away from the two main stories to work on it.
  2. It has been sprinkled across a lot of my comments from here on out, but I love writing for Cyrus!!!
  3. I've noticed for a while that my max size allotment for sending pictures or files, either in PMs or through any textbox (in forums and even in this very box) is at a 'Max total size' of 1.39 kB. I know I've sent files before through PM and elsewhere on this site, but I've never been limited to such a tiny amount of data. While I rarely use the 'Add Files' or 'Other Media' functions on GA, I was just curious to how this came about. I use the GIFs feature plenty in LPW in the forum games,, but I don't know if those would play a factor. Is there a limit to how much can be sent in a specified period of time? I tried to be cheeky and send a screen shot, but I had to crop it. And then crop it...and I cropped it some more. But I got it! it barely fits at 1.22kb!
  4. *shrugs shoulders*
  5. I just forkin' love this chapter! I come back to it over and over. Morrine is such a delight! Glad this chapter met the hype for you!
  6. ...now I need to reread these chapters again. I got all hyped up!

    Chapter 17

I can't wait to see Cyn's reaction to Arric's wolf! Ooooh, he's gonna be a scared little fawn... Ah, no big deal! Just focus on the mission while your boyfriend thinks he's Alpha din-din. The next test! Cyn should have thought about this before asking to go along. I love this analysis! This is very much appreciated, @dughlas! I haven't labeled Cyn's human height, but I have done my best to paint him around 5' 9". Going into drpaladin's comment, I never attempted to describe a shifter's animal's height in comparison to a normal equivalent (in any of my stories), so I tend to leave it for the reader to interpret. As I'm a learning author, I will keep sizing in my mind! This was a real learning experience, so thank you! Combined with Dughlas' comment, this was a treat for my growing writing skills! Thank you, guys!!! I'm so stinkin' excited to start the next chapter and see the new squad!!! Sir...sir...on a wolf-skinned rug? I know between you and Val, y'all have hacked into my Stories folders, but putting in ideas is a whole other thing... I...loved that little joke at the end there. Well, Arric's going. Not so sure about Walter. His original mission might be fizzling out like an hour-old glass of Pepsi. Thank you, everyone! I love the comments and breakdowns of the scenes! It really helps a new writer get his bearings on the tiny details.
  8. I learned about leadership very fast from this exact lesson (after I made the mistake, of course). I can't wait to see your comments and analysis on the upcoming two chapters!
  9. Just woke up, and this made me laugh so hard! Thank you for commenting!!
  10. I don't think I can say it enough, but I get so excited to see your comments, centex! I'm tickled pink that you loved this chapter! I can't wait either, and the chapter's already written! Just a few edits and it should be ready for posting. I agree with your analysis of Vincent losing to Lei. He needed a small reality check that he isn't up to snuff against one of the pack's finest. I wonder how that will affect his mentality in his upcoming duels... As the author, I have a really hard time taking a pause with writing about Cyrus and Kaplan. They're so stinkin' adorable together! Chapter 7 shouldn't be too much longer!

    Chapter 17

Shea’s heart could not decide to beat faster or stop beating. He wants to what? Stealing a look at the Beta, Walter could provide no answer either. “Cyn? You...why do you want to go with me?” Cyn was rigid but his fingers kept fidgeting at his side. He swallowed and worked up his voice, “I...I don’t want to see you go.” “Is this about breaking away from the herd?” The deer’s head nodded and Shea felt the need to smile, “I will not be going away like you think I will. But I don’t think
  12. Now, what is wrong with a faux leather couch? Don't tell me that's the deal breaker on the story being read
  13. There's something about new readers making comments. I just want to giggle so hard! C'mon...give Mason's mom some credit. She can figure things out herself...
  14. Oh, yeah! Cy and Kap are gonna be a power couple, no doubt! I think with Vincent's ability to take Mason anywhere, there might be some listings of pretty famous restaurants. Thanks for commenting! Glad your liking the story! For the situation's response being too easy, remember who Kap is. He's the master at responding to things, both in the court and in the pack. He can process and articulate emotions a lot faster than a lot of the other characters. Buz, remember Lord Bol and his divine intervention? Yeah, that was fun. I don't think the God of Order would find Stefan's book burning or the proposed Destiny acceptable. Maybe Stefan prefers to burn things instead of running around in the shadows? Who knows with that, scumbag... There are some deep and raw emotions involving those two and their pasts. Vinnie's a fast learner. He has spent a decade reading while he was searching for Stefan. Thanks for commenting, mikedup!
  15. Glad to see you have made the return! I still need to find time to come back for a clean-up edit, but I hope you enjoy it!
  16. Well, Kaplan hasn't made that decision yet, but I think we all know what the answer will be If I were to ever receive fan art of anything in this book series...it's Mason screaming while being held by Vincent. I needed Vincent to get knocked off his oblivious high-horse, but in a delicate fashion. He beat Dirk and Tierney in a challenge, but I think it was time for him to get a dose of reality. He's still a growing shifter, and one day, he'll beat Lei's staredown. Thanks for commenting, @Philippe! I always appreciate your analysis of the chapters!
  17. Thanks! I wanted it to be sweet and nurturing, while making a step in the right direction for the couple. Glad you loved it!
  18. He couldn’t breathe. The air in his lungs felt as if it carried weight. Kaplan’s sense of balance was thrown off, but he knew he was sitting perfectly still as he let Cyrus’ words soak in. They...did that to him...on his Turning Day? They burned him. Whipped him. Branded, slashed...tortured! They tortured him! The Beta’s emotions resembled a washing machine filled with various liquid feelings, anger, remorse, and sadness. The longer Kaplan stared at the scars in silence, the more and more

    Chapter 16

I stand corrected! This was a better outlook on my character than I gave Cyn credit for. I don't know if he currently has the mental stability to fight, but I am now open to the concept. I doubt he could stand a fight with Eike, but possibly one of the henchmen...henchwolf? Henchlycan? Oh well...off to post a chapter to RitS! Then another Cernunnos tomorrow morning!

    Chapter 16

Y'all gotta stop getting in my Stories folder! It's a double-edged sword, but whether Cyn realizes it, who knows? I'm sure the wolves will have something to say about it. Glad you accept Walter as a reliable pack member! He's a delight to write for. Can Cyn muster the guts to gore an opposing wolf with his stunted antlers? That, I'm unsure of... Thanks for the comment! Chapter 17 is almost done, but I'll be posting it later after a RitS chapter

    Chapter 16

Make sure you follow the steps, especially in picking out bad acorns and the leaching process. I didn't put it in the story, but you'll boil the nuts several times (3-5 times). I'm excited to keep writing! I have work for the rest of the week, but I'm sure I'll have a chapter up soon. *gasp* Cincy and Cyn duking it out for acorn supremacy. I don't think Cyn knows what he is getting himself into...or does he? The disadvantages of living in an apartment: no trees with nuts. But a very interesting comment no less! You can also take the pre-roasted acorns and grind them up with some white flour for use as a dense flour. Now, who doesn't like stuffing?

I cackled at this! A genuinely hearty cackle! Thank you for this comment.

    Chapter 16

I went full-on research mode with roasted acorns! It's a thing! Humans can eat them! Even the Boy Scout in me didn't know this! I also went in research mode about a deer's sense of smell. But I'll let the next chapter speak on that...

    Chapter 15

I've felt that a flashback chapter (of sorts) has been in order, or at least a full in-depth explanation from Cyn of how cernunnos are raised. All we know from the chapters is that they tend to live in very rural towns, so very little Internet access or things we take for granted (cellphones). He was floored in discovery of what a bed was used for, so we can assume he didn't have that, and most likely slept on the floor or on a pad. Lots to be left for open interpretation, but I suggest taking a walk through your home and assume what a nomadic deer would own or deem completely unnecessary. Bye-Bye, can openers! Heck, Bye-Bye cans of food?
