    Chapter 10

Hiatus is a bad word in my book. So...all my spare change is going in the swear jar. I am for a new chapter for each book per week, and that's about all I can handle at the moment

    Chapter 10

My bad! That's bad wording on my part. There's no hiatus. What I meant was how I can't wait to write the next chapter. I'm on a roll with RitS

    Chapter 10

I will keep this in mind! Thank you, wise one from the north! Isn't he just adorable? Thanks for commenting, Howzat! Thank you, but I'm slightly confused as to who you're referring to. I am, most certainly, not going on a hiatus. I enjoy writing too much to do that.

    Chapter 10

Oh, boy...lots of comments... Val! I am beyond ecstatic that you're reading one of my books!!! Thank you for commenting! Once...or twice? You...are lucky. In Kentucky, the weather is so sporadic that it could happen in any month of the year, and I would not be surprised. I played with the idea in my head for a while, and decided to give the cernunnos race something that other shifters didn't have. Seeing how Cyn stood still in the bathroom in deer-form, I'd say yes. Deer can be sneaky little snots when they want to be.

    Chapter 10

Thanks again for your comment, Patch! Just came in from de-icing my car, and it was baaaad! I'm loving the fact you've already decided that Shea and Cyn are made for each other.

    Chapter 10

Considering what he's gone through, our little deer is in a fragile-state of mind. His only solace has been Shea, and the wolf is trying to open up that spectrum. I can't wait to continue this story, but other projects need my attention Thanks for the comment! Glad the story has kept your attention so far!

    Chapter 10

Shea's breath caught, and he realized the situation that he found himself in to be dire. He...shifted! I didn't hear his bones crack! How did he...nevermind. One wrong move and he panics! He looked at the fair sized animal before him, but was almost intrigued by the amount of points on the buck's antlers. Six? That's...unusual. Most male deer have at least eight, maybe ten or twelve. Why so few? Pushing the thought from his head, the lycan watched carefully for behavior changes. The deer wa
  8. This is a fantastic short story, and a great read! The reader gets sucked in quick and the characters are very well detailed the moment they are introduced. Running with a theme that has crossed everyone's mind, regardless of length, this was a fascinating take into the more believable paranormal. The family's journey was one that only a fool would chose to ignore. This is the first piece that I've read from this author, and it will not be the last. Excellent work, Valkyrie! I'll be keeping my four eyeballs on your stories from now on.

    Chapter 25

As per usual, I am left demanding more. Garjah's chambers!?! Next Wednesday can not get here fast enough! I am happy to see that there is a solution to Essell's hand, and how Garjah is taking more command over his supervision over the human. You have me hooked, Cia! Excellent story so far!
  10. It felt so refreshing to dive back in! Glad you guys are back in for another ride!
  11. Patch, I know you and Cyrus are gonna have a showdown over Kaplan at some point. Glad you enjoyed the chapter! I've been looking forward to posting it! Uh-oh. Big comment. This is a Buz-sized comment... Yakob's a big influence, but he's only been around for a few chapters. Let him grow, and we shall see. The anger came from VincentW, and it is curious to see how the new wolf is conjuring such emotion. Marshmallow filling. I'm dyin'. That was too funny! I'm loving the budding romance between the Electric Panda and Attorney-at-Paw. As much as I love Mace and Vincent's relationship, it came in hot and heavy! I want this one to be nice and slow. Next chapter is written, just needs to be edited.
  12. The plane touched down and jolted the sleeping passengers. Nodding his head against his pillow, Kaplan stirred. Oh...must have slept through the landing announcements. When...when did this pillow get here? It's pretty warm. "Wake up, my little pup." Blinking his eyes, the wolf slowly raised his head and stretched his back and arms, letting them tremble as they struggled to relax themselves. He looked to his right and found Cyrus staring with his tan eyes. Where did the pillow go? Sleepily

Conspiracies are such a fun thing! These two have some serious problems to face! :S

    Chapter 3

I've already read this comment, but it's a darned good one! Thanks Patch!!! It's a very icky sticky situation!

    Chapter 2

If this were a game show, you'd be the winner. I'll have to look up some geography, but I intend to keep this in the state of Wisconsin.

    Chapter 1

I did not see that you blew through every chapter! Well...here we go! You can thank CincyKris for accidentally pressing a button to my overactive imagination. The concept was so interesting, I just had to do it!

    Chapter 9

I hope Cyn can calm himself too! Or at least Shea has learned enough psychology from Jaime and Ronnet to figure out what to do. Hey...I want some wine!!! Patch, I now won't be able to accept any more comments unless you've had some wine. Heading to work now, but I get off, Ch 2 of RitS is going up
  18. This is getting bonkers! It's got me ready to binge the rest of this book...

    Chapter 9

Who knows what this buck is gonna do? Guess we'll have to find out in the next episode! Oh gosh...moles! What's with it and moles in my books? They're supposed to stay in the ground! Going back to what certain shifters would have for occupations, I'm imagining moles would have jobs in construction, preparing underground plumbing lines and just general specific tunneling. Don't think mole shifters would make for an exciting read: he digs further in, keeping his mouth shut as to avoid getting dirt particles caught in his throat. The mole guessed that he had excavated the proper length and made a sharp right turn so the future electrical wiring could pass under the roads securely.

    Chapter 9

Cyn trembled. He just realized what he had done. He had confirmed three lycan to attacking his herd. Sitting up on the bed, he struggled to make heads or tails of his actions. I...understand they did wrong by this new law, but...what will happen to them? I...don't want to be the reason they...what if they die? They don't deserve that, not for hunting. "Sh...Sheamus?" He watched the wolf turn to him and smiled as he pointed up a finger, telling him to wait. Cyn sat patiently as the lycan re

    Chapter 8

I just want to tell you that I'm sorry that you have gone through such an ordeal, and I only wish that you have successfully combated the aftermath. This comment really means a lot to me. I have never been involved in any sort of physical altercation or anything related, as I have a fear of such events. I could only translate that fear into words into an attempt to describe what Cyn has gone through, and I want it to be on point. I think it's the little things that encourages me to write at such a slow pace. So far, we're eight chapters in, and it's only been one or two days in-story time. Love in the Shadows is 200k+ words and it covers the course of a month in-story time. I don't want to leave out the little things. It's the important emotions that capture the attention and sway feelings. I want to convey the feelings that a character feels when given a salad for the very first time! That's a pocket of information that very few readers have experienced before. Literally, I'm working on posting Chapter 9 in another tab, so I hope you're ready for more! Thank you so much for this comment @RainbowPhoenixWI. It genuinely helped me realize that this story is as strong as I want it to be.
  22. I feel so...so spoken for in this picture!
  23. A lovely wrap up! Yelp review, 4/5 stars. Being a retail man myself, I can't tell the difference between a Friday and a Tuesday. Regardless of before or after the pandemic...I'm still stocking groceries six days, 50ish hours a week. I've been wondering why everyone has been wearing masks. I just thought it was a new fashion statement.

    Chapter 8

Y'all hit it on the head! I disliked writing such a dark character, but Cyn needed it and I hope Shea can show the buck the better side of life. Danners, Cyn does know that Arric sent Shea to watch over the cern. I just hope Cyn can handle being sent away to the Alpha's manor...

    Chapter 8

Thanks! I'll be starting it on my first break when I'm at work tonight. I wanted this to be different than LitS. The formatting is nearly identical, along with the inner thoughts, but I really like diving into this "it's a deer, what do deer do?" mindset. Cyn has genuinely lived a nomadic lifestyle, and he has gotten glimpses of humanoid life but not enough to understand it. I started thinking, "Oh, this'll be cute," and it turned into, "Oh...this can be seen as a delight, but also sad." The fact that Cyn hasn't seen a smartphone...in this day and age...big oooofs...
