OH this was cute and funny, heartwarming. Thankfully, I guess, I never felt much of anything from my classmates. A few were good for a roll in the hay, but otherwise, that's a no and I gladly walked away from that place. The thought of attending a H.s. reunion gives me the shivers.

It was an aggressive, bureaucratic oatmeal, a shade of beige selected by a distant committee of corporate accountants who actively despised the concept of human joy. Hmm, well as a former corporate accountant, I can 100% positively say that our team ever had anything to do with picking decorations. Maybe the colors on a power point but that would be it. The despised concept of human joy, well no comment! 🤪

I have no idea why this one enjoyed this story so much but this did. I can't pronounce half the names and the other half is just a guess. Looking forward to what is next.

Thanks for that info. Keeps me reading on the right path (still shaking my head that I was reading Charlie vs. The Union of Doom before reading the previous stories in the series). With regards to Andrew & Will, I've read all 7 stories in the Carter's Saga group, and I've barely started Carter's Breach in the Andrew Carter Books group. But I don't think I've seen the Order Trilogy Books so I need to go back and look. 79 posted stories I know I've missed a lot.

What a cute cute story and so much to unpack. I absolutely love that Will started his political career as a Prime Minister representing a precinct in Ottawa to now being the president of the United States. I also love that we have the yellow oval room, and I also love that they live in the east wing. Is the dark period that they refer to a reference to the current administration? Because calling it a dark period is probably being a bit kind! At some point, I’m gonna have to go back and read the story of Will and Andrew again. I read it years ago I think on a different platform as I don’t remember being able to comment on the chapters or the story, but it was one of those stories that I could not stop reading chapter after chapter chapter after chapter. I’m very thankful that I recently stumbled back into Professor Lyndon’s story page. There is a lot of reading I have to catch up with and I’ve got to pay more careful attention so that I don’t get halfway through the latest Charlie vs. only to realize that it’s got a lot of previous stories that I need to read. That discovery was last week and was kind of funny. The best part of the whole story is that one of my favorite couples I’ve ever read about are still together! That is the happy ending I always want to see.

The former president, Carter wasn’t much of a leader at least while he was in office. However, ex- President Carter turned out to be one of the best former presidents representing this country we’ve ever had. Seeing him and ex-President Bush together more often than not just shows you that you can put differences aside for the better good. Personally, I think, losing both of these fine men was a huge loss to our country.

I somewhat feel your pain. While I can’t understand Trumps supporters failing in line like little minions. Believing everything he says as the truth. My own brother and sister think the man can do no wrong. They are the type to watch Fox News 24/7. How can we have come from the same family? Unfortunately I didn’t take the time in the 80’s to learn more. I was barely 20 voting for the first time in 1982 and for me anyway, we were still in a time where we didn’t question authority so much. I was so proud of myself back then, when I stood up to my family becoming the first to register to vote as a Republican. Of course that party looks very different now. But my uneducated mind felt if Reagan like Thatcher, that was good enough for me. Even in your 20’s you can still have very hard lessons to learn.

In my own dark history I was once a big time Reagan supporter even campaigning for him. At the time I was so firmly rooted in the back of my closet and hoping against hope that my religious values and teachings would heal me, would save me. Since Reagan and Thatcher were thick allies, I viewed her as a bright star for the English people to belief and follow. You never like to admit when you are wrong, but in this case I was wrong twice. While I didn’t completely follow their story, my husband and I met a wonderful couple last November from Wales. As often does, being from the US I stick out like a sore thumb when traveling abroad. People always want my opinion on Trump. It’s always interesting to me that someone from another country has an even lower opinion of the leaders of my country than I do, but there are those occasional exchanges that I just want to get away from these Trump supporters ASAP. Anyway, I mentioned to the couple from Wales how I use to, as in past tense, be a fan of Maggie Thatcher. This was not well received and I’m sure they were the ones who wanted away from me ASAP, at least at first. The part of the conversation I didn’t understand and fully grasp dealt with incidents/accidents/unemployment/deaths in mines in the Welsh country. Mostly I didn’t follow because I had none of the history of the events other than the few words over dinner. I did hear enough to know these wounds ran deep in this Welsh family. I sat that night wondering just exactly what did Prime Minister Thatcher do that was good for her country because all the things I knew of her were turning to shit. A lesson I learned from that encounter, these people I now consider friends, is that I know nothing especially when dealing with foreign cultures and their own history. My takeaway was to listen better before spouting off the virtues of a leader I really knew nothing about.

An absolutely beautifully written story of prevailed love. However a sad story of family betrayal, of brutality, or terror, of sacred young boys. They were an inconvenience, a dirty story, a plight on the good name of England. While nothing compares, we still see unjust treatment of others in other countries because of custom, religious convictions and the like. In my own country, the US, I see a war being waged against Transexuals. Just as people didn’t understand years ago Gay & Lesbian men and women, people today don’t understand Transexuals. We fear what we don’t understand and therefore our actions are disguised as necessary to keep the rest of the population safe. Laws regarding which bathroom you can use, laws banning participation in sports certainly seem inconsequential to those the boys of Blackwater endured, but they cut to core of our personal survival in a similar way. To our author, kudos and my deepest thanks for your time, your research, your willingness to write about a deeply troubling time. You definitely deserve something to make you smile.

I went to another camp in Germany, Buchenwald. While much much bigger, Dachau is what sticks in my mind the most. I agree the Holocaust Museum shows the terrible crimes that our country just ingnored for many years, we simply didn’t want to get involved. Walking out of the museum my mind was so cloudy and heavy with grief. The piles of combs, teeth, glasses just shook me. How anyone can go to one of the camps or the Holocaust Museum and deny its existence is someone with no conscience, no soul.

Only 1 chapter, please don’t tease us like that. I hope you are not serious.

I really needed today’s chapter. After struggling with yesterday’s revelations, this was a perfect way to pull readers back in (like we ever left).
