  1. Thank you so much! I suppose you will like what is coming up. Maybe you are right or maybe RMW proves to be a good man, who knows?
  2. We have guests tonight, so I will answer in detail later. As for how Jamie looks, please google "Leon S Kennedy Resident Evil 4 Remake" or look at this picture: Leon When I researched this hairstyle, I found these were "bangs", How would a native speaker describe the strand of hair over his face?
  3. When selecting to publish a chapter, one can choose a date and time for auto-publishing. The browser offers me the current date and my current time value, but in what timezone would the value of 07:15 AM be interpreted? So, I were to select tomorrow 07:15 (as value) it be tomorrow 07:15 e.g. US East Coast time or my time?
  4. My phone alarm went off at six. I was full of energy and put on Mr. Turner’s loaned clothes eagerly. They were too big and looked ridiculous but worked well as I went out into the cold mid-March morning for my morning run. I was happy to perform the rest of my exercise routine in my room, although the wooden floor was uncomfortable and squeaky. The noises coming from my room alarmed Mr Turner who came to check on me when I was doing single-arm push-ups. After a shower, putting on the newly
  5. Thx. Will try. There are some mistakes, too...
  6. I am a bit at a loss what to reply here
  7. What an *****. Good riddance! I think all school education should focus on teaching one thing as basis for everything else: "always treat people the way you want to be treated".
  8. Same for me. Also working with people from different places is very enlightening. I had several both-way "what does that mean" discussions with both @Mikiesboy and @CassieQ while working on this.
  9. Yep!
  10. Thank you! I had a debate about place names and setting. I have made all places except for London Enfield and Hatfield completely up. This reduces "familiarity" or "recognisability", but all incidents I described were real and I do not want to make any identifying descriptions or impose such incidents on real places.
  11. Good find! I will see whether I can correct that. On the other hand, once published it is published and I am not sure whether to touch it. That is a slippery slope.
  12. These people are not acting superior, they do believe they were!
  13. Totally!
  14. Thank you! This part of the story is less rooted in experience or reality, though
  15. Thank you so much! Not many people do that. One of the main reasons I am so on about police procedures is the ... drastic difference ... between policing styles. Seeing US officers sitting (!) on suspects, tasering them, tasering them again, and again and again... shows they really do not know what they are doing or have other motivations... Once a person has been tasered they CAN NOT follow any instructions for a minute or two, even if they wanted to.
  16. I was taught that police ABC by a driving instructor, far too late. But then, I have made a point teaching it to any new recruit. It is so true!
  17. If you like it, the next thing to get is the series "Yes, Minister".
  18. Well, there is a particular way of dealing with people that is just ingrained in certain classes. A well placed "Interesting", pronounced in a certain way, makes quite clear where they thought your place was. British people can with a simple "Good Morning" indicate exactly that they think you were an idiot without you getting any chance of doing anything about it .. unless you respond in equal measures. It is all about pronunciation! Unfortunately, I cannot get that across in writing. But to give a practical example, I once sat in my old company's finance department. Our accountant was a beginning fifties core-middle-class woman (think Mrs McGonagal in Harry Potter) . She was phoning up companies who had not paid their bills. Being very friendly and kind, she was able to convey the message "you should be ashamed you sorry sod of a person for not doing your work and giving me silly excuses". After the first call, I said to her that I would be scared into paying now... As for Jamie's protection work. Police Officer may do overtime, but they are employees like everyone else, so they will have shifts. Also, in Close Protection being too close to a principal is not desired.
  19. I do not know these, so I cannot add much to the comparison. There is another very important reference soon to come.
  20. Yes! It is just that most people unfortunately do not see it that way!
  21. I can only say, stay tuned!
  22. Nobody is perfect! Yes, absolutely!
