A Lifechanging Encounter
lawfulneutralmage commented on lawfulneutralmage's story chapter in A Lifechanging Encounter
Nope. Actually, they cannot be tampered with by station officers. The whole system is literally a black box in which cameras are held. One takes a clean one out and puts it back after shift. any footage is then downloaded, attributed to the officer and then stored. You cannot interact with it. However, officers can choose to not turn it on... I have always loved my camera. Best evidence ever! -
A Lifechanging Encounter

Yes, my thinking, too. It was pure harassment by the force. As training they showed us a video about an officer responding to robbery in progress. Friday evening, small High Street, he drove 30 in a 30 zone with siren and blue lights when a drunk 17-year-old stepped into the road a meter ahead of him. The girl was dead on scene. The force could not find anything to nail on the officer so they tried to retrospectively downgrade the incident from immediate to urgent attendance, because the suspected robbery turned out to be not be one. The judge in the whole proceeding told the police administration that they were cheating and disloyal towards their workforce and that they should be ashamed of themselves. I do not remember why we were shown that video in training, maybe even the police management had learned something, but it ingrained one thing in me: "Stick to the damn procedures and policies, whether they make sense or not". Luckily, I am German... -
It fills me with joy seeing that I can make someone so happy! I must say that the Nam/Jamie hugging exchange is one of my preferred scenes as well. Yes, @Mikiesboy and @CassieQ were fundamental! I still shudder when I see my first draft... it is honestly a world apart.

Well, it was not in that way Honestly, discussing the editorial merits of certain description has nothing arousing. I was very happy that I was able to have a rational, non-emotional discussion about that. Technically correct, I would think Thank you! Yes, I knew it was cheesy, but in the light of what is going to come, I needed to allow for some sickly sweetness

Again, I am pleased that you enjoy. -
Well, I thank you for the enthusiastic praise! I hope I will not disappoint.

Thank you! Believe me, handcuffs hurt!

Yes, PNC use is monitored. If there is anything going on worth grounding Jamie, He would be an ass asking his colleagues to "misuse police information systems" and risk their career and pension. Thank you so much!

Not getting that reference, sorry. Could you elaborate?
-
"credible (!)" Honestly, apart from fighting aka spy stuff and delivery boy, can anybody actually think of what that ability could be used for? I just cannot...
-
I can see the sentiment about the young guys, but I have spent years nording in my husband. Starting all over again? No thanks, too much work! Thanks! I think it was a good contrast to the first chapters and, yet I hope, still "believable". Will he now?

True, but first, did you look up Leon? My mistake, I only called the place "dojo". It also includes KravMaga fighting opportunities and a gym. It is not only Kendo. Sorry!

Where did I mention strength and stamina? Jamie is blessed with the most useless of superpowers: speed. Can anybody come up with any credible (!) job as high speed runner?

I must admit that I have not considered that. I doubt that it would be enjoyable for either of them. Using the power comes with the need to concentrate and a ravenous hunger afterwards. I had some references in mind, as with every character. I went through the list of actual Conservative MPs and that name fitted perfectly as does your description. Let's say @CassieQ has expressed her feelings about said character in the same manner. The whole story is based on a role-playing game campaign which we never finished. One of the players, a proper Labour chap, can perfectly imitate a pretentious, toffee-nosed twat. My character also gave him the nickname of "the Wanker", although David's character was not named RMW. Must be the behaviour ....

A good way to deal with reticent people was to seize their mobile phones for evidence. Would take at least three months to get them back. -

Many thanks! Look, @Mikiesboy and @CassieQ, it works! -
Thank you! That is very kind. A lot of work went into this.
