  1. Pun intended?
  2. I would not say this describes a cynical police officer. It is more like they know how the world works, and it ain't fair! They have seen a lot and if somebody wants to tell them otherwise, they have a snide remark for it.
  3. I know what you mean. I once took a colleague of mine (then beginning 50) to a ride-along. We went through the station, and when we came out of the sergeant's office, he said: "Damn, I knew that I was old looking at all the officers looking like kids, but now the sergeants look like kids, too!"
  4. Thank you! I am looking forward to what you will say to the next chapter.
  5. Thank you so much! I love "Yes, (Prime) Minister". When I was able to follow Sir Humphrey without thinking about it, I realised that I was now able to understand English. Let dead people rest. She was a product of her time. Stay tuned!
  6. This is fun, guys! We shall see, shan't we? I fear you will need to stick around! Not during that night, no. However, you can assume yes before returning it. They would not be interrogated. They would be questioned. But when minister and bodyguard's accounts match and the guests', too, then there is no reason to doubt what they say. Bangable?
  7. *sigh* During editing @Mikiesboy told me to leave out descriptions because the readers would make it up themselves. I now realise what he meant
  8. Sorry for causing confusion!
  9. Thank you!. It follows rules and has sense. The rules are taken from a role-playing game, so in themselves consistent. Yes, I mentioned in a post "in between" how I imagine him. Sorry for any confusion. And no, I would not be happy with a bowl-cut look either
  10. Yep. Thank you so much! I hope you stick with it!
  11. Thank you! Yes, they do not want to explain that one...
  12. Thank you! Yes, not having winter tyres is a problem. My hubby had a company car and was not allowed to modify it in any way even when we offered to pay for the set... So, I remember once driving the M1 up to Milton Keynes when all of the cars where in the slow lane and all lorries in the fast one He "[has] to think about it". The poor RMW can not know everything, cut him some slack
  13. That is an excellent question. I have based the ghosts and the supernatural on two role-playing games. I hope the characters will explain it. Hm... what do you mean?
  14. This encounter is probably more of a life changer for Jamie than the first meeting with the manifested spiritual entity was. I hope I will bring that across in the next chapters. *sigh*
  15. Well, he is a proper British conservative. Pun intended?
  16. Thank you so much! I suppose you will like what is coming up. Maybe you are right or maybe RMW proves to be a good man, who knows?
  17. We have guests tonight, so I will answer in detail later. As for how Jamie looks, please google "Leon S Kennedy Resident Evil 4 Remake" or look at this picture: Leon When I researched this hairstyle, I found these were "bangs", How would a native speaker describe the strand of hair over his face?
  18. When selecting to publish a chapter, one can choose a date and time for auto-publishing. The browser offers me the current date and my current time value, but in what timezone would the value of 07:15 AM be interpreted? So, I were to select tomorrow 07:15 (as value) it be tomorrow 07:15 e.g. US East Coast time or my time?
  19. My phone alarm went off at six. I was full of energy and put on Mr. Turner’s loaned clothes eagerly. They were too big and looked ridiculous but worked well as I went out into the cold mid-March morning for my morning run. I was happy to perform the rest of my exercise routine in my room, although the wooden floor was uncomfortable and squeaky. The noises coming from my room alarmed Mr Turner who came to check on me when I was doing single-arm push-ups. After a shower, putting on the newly
  20. Thx. Will try. There are some mistakes, too...
  21. I am a bit at a loss what to reply here
  22. What an *****. Good riddance! I think all school education should focus on teaching one thing as basis for everything else: "always treat people the way you want to be treated".
