  1. Two days later, I drove my motorbike onto a garage’s yard. The building was as desolate as the rest of the business park where it was located. Several cars were parked in front. Probably queued for repairs, some were right old bangers. The lights were on inside, so the old scumbag was already working at eight in the morning. I wondered about the unexpected show of discipline and entered the garage we had raided so often. An old radio was playing in a corner. A pair of legs was poking out fr
  2. Well put! Thank you!
  3. Thank you! High praise indeed! The word play is a good one! Yes, that is a nice ride and powerful! LOL!
  4. Thank you! Technically because of what SI Brown said: They need to check why the account differs drastically from what can be seen.
  5. Well, would I really throw red herrings? Or cover everything in red tape? Maybe, I just saw red when I wrote that... What do you think?
  6. I see I got it right. People are fishing in the dark
  7. Thank you! Let's see where this is going then...
  8. Perhaps...? Thx!
  9. Us neither. I love the wooden and stone floors! The cleaning robot loves them, too. And I really love the cleaning robot! Best thing since sliced bread!
  10. Thank you, too! I hope you stay tuned.
  11. “Now, that’s fast," I muttered to myself as a car sped past me. Admittedly, it was past midnight, but my patrol car with Battenburg markings standing still by the roadside should’ve been very visible in their headlights, yet they still raced past me. I turned on the blue lights and siren and started to follow. It took me several attempts to stop them. The driver was either deliberately ignoring me or heavily distracted, not reacting to the racket I was making behind them. My flashing blue l
  12. They have spent some intensive time together before the date. Let's say that had already uncovered that the person opposite was interesting beyond their looks.
  13. Thank you!
  14. Thank you! Stay tuned!
  15. Well, that sounds funny, but it was not so much for me. (Not a criticism nor badly taken!!!) I am not for writing sex scenes. I had a couple of beers writing that and still I needed some advice. Yes, you must be able to talk about writing such descriptions. Your editor and beta reader must be, too. Luckily mine were! When we come to the sex scenes, I now know what the term writer's block means! I can imagine it fine, but penning it down...? I lack the words! My appreciation for a good sex scene has drastically increased after this experience! Check out @CassieQ's stories!
  16. Thank you! Keep thinking that...
  17. Thank you! Guess who brought the restaurant to life!
  18. Yes, correct. First of all, they have spend a long time together during the first two shifts. I did not outline every minute they were together. You learn how people react and what they think when sitting with them in the same car for hours. I think only once have I had a very quiet crewmate. A meticulous officer, but just not a talker. Can be refreshing, too. As for the relationships, maybe it is my age or my scientific background. "Stop wasting time". Make clear what you want, what you expect and who you are, no point in hiding anything or you will be playing a role that is not you for potentially the rest of or life. Luckily, I found a man who thinks the same. Keep up your observations. Suffice to say that I dislike when a MC is extremely good-looking, rich, intelligent, lovable, (insert array of further positives) or plain perfect. Domestic violence happens in the "best" families and is not always physical!!! https://www.gov.uk/guidance/domestic-abuse-how-to-get-help#recognise-domestic-abuse I have been to millionaires houses and very poor people's places, dealt with scientists, politicians, and workers. It is abundant... On a story note... keep I am the first one to admit that! No worries, it will not get any sappier. Thank you! Stay tuned!
  19. Many thanks!
  20. Yes, I would think so. Good looks don't always equate to happiness. Well, yes. Sorry, I did not want to make them vile. While I completely agree with you, I wanted to paint them as just very "that is not what one does" kind of people, not haters. They are stuck in the fifties. Yes, the kids luckily "escaped" and are successful and confident. What I can not understand are people who constantly try "making their families love them". Yes, they are blood relatives, but if they hate you, well ... why bother? Admittedly, in the US it seems to be because parents literally "own" their kids until after university, so people have to play nice or they end up with nothing. Well, I said I researched restaurant interiors, I never claimed that I understood them So, sorry, no answer to that from me. I am not a fan of carpets either. Have none at home. All wooden or stone floors. Thank you!
  21. Thank you! Pace is going to increase a bit. I hope you are up for the ride.
