Jamie is still trapped in the cycle of dehumanizing behavior his father subjected him to in every interaction. He can't escape as he has done his entire life, because his father beating him and throwing him out like garbage makes real for Jamie of his worthlessness in his father's eyes. The pain of that realization is devastating and traumatizing, and on top of that he is now left with an "ache" that leaves him broken and frozen. A lifetime of being told nothing you do is good enough can't be turned around in a few days-because you learn to internalize and survive by clinging to what little you can control. Art is Jamie's safe harbor, and right now he may not be able to escape to it, because he may unconsciously be seeing it as the reason for his father's abuse. As it seems Luca experienced trauma of his own-he may be the perfect person to help Jamie recapture what his parents stole from him. (You are on the right track with how the story is unfolding. The angst is palpable, and that is opening the reality of what happens to many LGBQT kids, and also to kids with parents who are hell bent on having their kids living a life they failed to live.)

Thank you for this story. It was a testament to the most enduring of all beliefs, "Love conquers all!"

The beauty of a well-written story is that it allows us to become a part of the character's lives. Carlos' gift of CJ and his world captured our attention and forced us to think about and work through many of the all-to-common negative experiences we endure in life. It is evident from this tribute to Carlos that he wishes for you to tell Scott's story. A story that plays out daily to many forgotten children. Carlos is giving you the strength to dive into another part of his world as seen through Scott's eyes. We honor those who honored us with their faith in us, bye fulfilling our destiny to it's fullness. Opening our heart and minds can be frightening and painful, but in releasing both we acknowledge, give comfort and hope, and find peace in knowing we were never alone while we struggled to be seen. Consider letting Scott be seen, and letting Carlos continue to be heard. God Bless!

I think Barghast's "clingy-ness" is part of the nature of who he is as a lycan. His love and loyalty towards Crowe is ingrained in his every action, thought, and word. He will die for his Twin-o'rre! Any one of us can only hope that we would meet and get to be supported and loved by our own "Barghast".

Excellent! What can I say? This story was extremely difficult to get through. There is no greater pain or trauma than what can come from our own blood. This captured so deeply the constant hunger and fear that leaves one numb eventually. It is a death by a thousand literal and figurative cuts. You can be proud of the soul-strength it took to survive, and the continued determination to not only survive, but thrive. Those of us who are able to escape the darkness and weight of childhood abuse do so through constantly reminding ourselves "we are worthy!" May all who "recognize" the journey traveled in this story, find the strength, peace, and love to let the past be a chapter, not their entire story.

There is no greater pain for a child then feeling abandoned, not wanted or not valued. Only love can begin and build on healing that pain. As time passes it may lessen, but unfortunately it remains. David and Louise have found their common humanity and bond through that shared recognition. May Love bring them peace and strength to always recognize their inherent worth!
