  1. Now here's a topic question i like, (great question btw). I do magic, for those who dont know. And i have to perform for many people at a time, anywhere, anytime someone asks. Yes i can be a lot of pressure, but it does take some thick skin to do it. I dont think thick or thin skin has to do with getting up and performing (thats courage and skills if you ask me), i think thin and thick skin have to do with what you do OFF the stage. After i do a trick, ive had people tell me it was good, or it was flat-out bad. And both types of feedback are good, but think and thick skin come into play when those things are brought up...or ANYTHING is brought up about your performance off stage. it doesnt even have to do with a stage, just speaking in front of two people telling a story takes thin and thick skin (when the story is over). Now why would people put themselves in this position where their "think and thick skin" is put to the test? I think its for a number of reasons, but none of them matter to me more than this reason: my reason. My reason for doing things like this, performing magic, taking the spotlight away form others and telling a story, or writing a long answer to a question in a forum, is because i like the feeling of accomplishment. I like to be able to HONESTLY say that i have performed for over 50 people at a time, that (to me) means i have captivated the interests of over 50 people all at once!! That to me is an accomplishment, although an accomplishment can be personal and can contain no others but yourself, mine is with a lot of people. There are many reasons why people do and dont get up in front of an audience, but i do think that either way, thin or thick skin is tested in daily life, and perfected through accomplishments.
  2. Why stand on a silent platform? FIGHT THE WAR, F*CK THE NORM
  3. Well, MY true self is still out there. I have an idea of what my true self is, but honestly, i dont think im ever going to find it. Life is NOT a journey, life is NOT a path, or a stream, or a river or bird or a roller coaster, its a point of view. Its an outlook that i believe everyone should have. Today's world has become so over technical that i dont think anyone's "job" has to do with their true self. I hear people say "i love what i do. Therefore its not a job, its a love." No, as funny as that sounds, i think our true self comes out when we sit and stare at our accomplishments. And not the trophy you got when you nailed the game winning three point shot, but your kids, your family, your friends. THOSE are accomplishments. And i must say, that even though i may never find my true self, i know i can find what makes me, me if i just turn around look. Also, for me personally, i feel at home when im one with nature. Like, i feel at home when im on a beach starring off into the sunset. Thats when i feel most like myself.
  4. I actually disagree with anyone who says this current generation is smarter than the rpevious generation. Seriously, have you been in a high school today? Have you actually TALKED and made FRIENDS wiht the kids of today? The kids today (for the most part) are dumb, if not the DUMBEST generation this world has ever seen. Seriously......ask your son or daughter (if your not in school) if the kids around them are smart. HELL NO the kids today arent as smart as previous generations. I mean yes, granted, there are always a few kids who have the genius IQ and go on to work for the government, or are bred into popularity (rich popularity) and are force fed all the bullshit they need to get into the Skull and Crossbones club. Grades dont reflect intelligence. They dont. SO, dont bother looking at grades to see if the kids are smart, look at the test scores. Not the ACT or the SAT scores, but look at their history finals, or math test on chapter 9. None of the kids pay attention in classrooms. Now ask them how to use an iPod, thats a different story. One of the reasons people say kids are smart, is because of the use of technology. But seriously, its all about the teaching. Most parents today cant use a computer as well as their kid, why? Because kids now a days are GROWING UP with technology. Did i know how to use an iPod when it first came out? HELL NO, i spent an hour figuring the damn thing out. Does my mom know how to use an iPod? No. Does that make me smarter than her? GOD no, i spent time to learn it. Did she? No. Technology was LEARNED by the kids of today through the schools and daily fun. My 10 year old neighbhor knows how to use a computer better than my dad. Why? Cus my dad doesnt NEED to use the computer 24/7. DO kids today NEED to use them? Not really. But they DO use them 24/7 (or just about). Older folks in today's world doesnt use (or keep up) with today's technology because they dont need to. Does your grandmother need to know how to use a computer? No. Do you? I can almost guaruntee you NEED to know how to use one (for bills, school work, job aplications....). Well, maybe you dont NEED to, but its the convenience of the future. Drugs? No. I dont believe drugs cause stupidity in this world, at least not the stupidity of the kids in your schools today. Yea, they use them, who didnt/doesnt? The previous generation was the 60's, 70's, and 80's. ANYONE who grew up during that time (the previous generation) used drugs or was influenced by drugs. SO, i dont believe drugs has a matter in this argument. Anyway, im rambling over nothing. But seriously, i wouldnt consider the population of today's youth to be "smarter" than any of the previous generations. If anything, they're about the same "smartness" as any other generation.
  5. Very cute lol. Im glad to see Abercrombie now going for the whole "everyday miracle" look. And i liked the jeans that guy had on when he was greeting hehe.
  6. All i have to say is this. Go to the police, they can and WILL transport you if you tell them everything he has done to you. And remember, mental and emotional distress can be just as bad, if not WORSE than physical harm. The psychology of what he is doing to you can last with you forever. If you are the type of person to be open to others, go see a therapist or a psychologist for some help. You may not need it, you may not want it, but they do end up solving any and all mental/emotional problems he is causing you. As fro the police, let me reiterate, they WILL help you get out of your situation, and this is coming from a guy who doesn't like police. This is no laughing matter and everyone you talk to is most definitely going to try and help you. If you have to, gather up your things and walk to the police station and stay there for as long as you need. But, they will transport you to wherever you want to go. He is stronger than you and weighs more than you, that means he can definitely cause more physical harm to you if your weaponless. I am NOT saying you need to use any sort of weapon to hurt ANYONE, but i am saying that you have to use your head rather than your arms. Play him for a fool, use your thinking power to outwit him. Now, im not saying you should randomly start a fight and use your head to make him hurt himself, im saying use your head in this situation. Play to him until you are free. Try not to act any differently, but dont give in either. Just, let him think everything is going fine and then BAM! Your gone. But at any rate, be safe bro. Everyone here is pulling for you and dont lose hope, you can and WILL get out of this. And after this is all over, your going to find a bf who will treat you right, who will love you as much as you love him. Be safe and BE SMART, Ian
  7. Being the Irishman that i am, i wanted to wish everyone a Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all of you. My grandparents and her 14 brothers and sisters are straight off the boat so.....we're pretty Irish lol. But, none the less, i wanted to wish you all a snake free day, along with a fun and enjoyable day for everyone. Have fun and don't get too drunk....hehe. Ian

Ok, bro, i think you need to set down the blotted paper and find a couch to crash on. Now listen close, THE COUCH IS SAFE! NOTHING CAN HURT YOU WHEN YOU ARE ON THE COUCH. GO SIT DOWN. Ian
  9. Ok, bro. All i have to say is this. Why worry about the LAW, when your in danger of getting PHYSICALLY BEATEN! Id take his car and run, run far away. You have to tell someone about this to. Maybe someone who knows him also. But better yet, a loving and caring friend. I honestly wouldn't stay in that relationship any longer than you have to. And to be quick frank, F*CK the law. If you have to steal a car and drive 300 miles without a license, then do it. Ive driven over 200 miles illegally before. The car wasn't even mine, AND i stopped and asked a cop for directions. All i have to say is get the HECK outta there. I know i sound naive and young minded, but you need to get outta there. If he says hes gonna commit suicide, then get him help. But hun, you really need to be thinking of yourself first. Your safety is number one on your priority list (or it should be). You need to get help for you, then him (if anything). Ok, let me rephrase this WHOLE thing, since im a little mish mash. 1. get safety for yourself, pack up all your stuff one day while hes gone (or whenever) and get out (if that means breaking the law, then i say so be it) 2. tell the police, friends, grandma, mom, dad....ANYONE you can tell, tell them 3. get help for you, like go talk to a friend, or a therapist or something like that. just make sure YOU are alright mentally 4. get HIM help, if he says hes gonna commit suicide, then get him help 5. KEEP yourself safe Just remember, YOUR the number one priority. NOT him. Hugs and loves, Ian

That movie was one of the best movies ive seen in years.....cept for the Spider man movies, those were just as AMAZING!!!11
  12. ANY, event? I would personally choose to write about the Panama Canal, and how the US muscled their way into South America's natural resources, in the early 20th century.. But that just me. If you wanted a more current event, i would go with the debate of China taking over Tibet and forcing the Dali Lama along with the remaining Buddhists to run away form their land homes. *shrugs* but thats good ol' Ian
  13. Alright. Now im not saying im the best qualified person to be saying this. BUT, i have read extensively, every Shakespeare work there is and i have read more than i should on him in other books. All the evidence is there. I have a book around here somewhere that is absolutely amazing (but i cant find it because my parents are redoing my computer room) but i do have this book here. This was a good book, but it doesn't tell you how his work portray to today's life. Although, if you look around, you can see he is everywhere. TV, radio, billboards, advertising campaigns......etc. From reading all these books and sources (and counter sources), i personally believe the evidence shown to me is enough to make me believe that the sexism and racism in his works are and IS one of the biggest influences on our society today.
  14. Shakespeare was and IS the most badass writer ever........despite the fact that he is personally responsible for the sexism against women in our world today. Ian
  15. OMG, that movie is gonna be so badass. Not better than Terminator (the first one), but still better than Conan the Barbarian............idk what to say about Conan. But ill tell you what, im gonna be like the only person in the theater seeing it lol.
  16. I swear to god, this kid is gonna crack in about 6 years. He is gonna be so sick of everyone calling him Harry (and not Daniel) that he is just gonna be the new age Macaulay Culkin.......cept Daniel is gonna be on crack. Cus everyone is gonna be on crack in the future, thats just the way things work (plus they'll have crack vending machines, crack mansions, and crack flavored ice cream in the future!). I can see it now, he is gonna get wasted at a party and beat the shit outta someone for calling him Harry Potter. Its gonna be everywhere on the news. Thats whats gonna happen, get over it lol. Ian (saluting Jake Lloyd for keeping his cool....and his looks)
  17. Yes yes yes, we all know that the media and movies are just filler to distract peoples attention away form the governments mishandlings but i cant get into that here lol. I dont care if he is soulless (like me, a ginger), Leo still looked DAMN good when he walked through that door.
  18. I wonder if the linguistics course is on there.......*goes to check*.......WOOT WOOT!!11! I absolutely LOVE, LOVE CHOMSKY!!! Noam Chomsky is the linguistics professor at MIT, and hes the most quoted intellectual that is alive today. He is a policitcal activist and speaker and IAN LOVES HIM!! He seriously is my idol. I own and have red all of his books. I have an interview with him on the RATM dvd i have. He got known when he started speaking out against Vietnam back in the 60's. And ive loved him ever since. Ian

Go pic up an issue of GQ or Mens Vouge (my two fav mags lol). 1. to get an idea of a good suit. and 2. to look at the cute guy IN the suit (my thing to do). Also, if anyone has the latest version of Mens Vouge, check out the ETRO suit. IDK what page its on but i LOVE that suit...........or maybe it was in the newest GQ..........hmmmmmm.
  20. Ok, HELL NO AM I PUTTING MY NAME IN THE PAPERS!!! 1. if i put my name in the paper, the media is ognna look up my record (underage driving, theft, shoplifting, arrest, valdalizing neighborhoods............theres more but ill stop). and 2. if i go to the press, no way is my word gonna win. most of hte cops own he judges round here and would kick my ass in court. but thats just how corrupt they are. Infact, my next blog entryis gonna be about the government, the media, and the police. check it out. Ian
