    Another Milestone

Stix, I'm glad you've enjoyed this book/series, but I'm not sure if there will be more. This has been a very long and arduous adventure, and I'm not sure that I can continue coming up with new ideas that won't seem forced or trite. I do appreciate your continued support, however.

You're welcome, Wesley, and I'm glad this story touches you so deeply.

Thanks, Dahawk. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter.
  4. Sunday morning, we all went to church together before going out for brunch. Shortly after we got home, Uncle Steve showed up. "We didn't expect you," Dad said after greeting him at the door. "I know. I just wanted to see how Elliot was doing after that scare with those guys who were involved in the shootout. But I also wanted to have a quick chat with Benny and Ryan." "I suppose it's about the adoption ceremony," I said, since they were my sons. "Of course." "So h

Thanks, Dahawk. I think everyone knew I wouldn't let the perps get away with what they'd done. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks, Wesley. He who lives by the sword and espouses bigotry often goes out in a blaze of glory - at least in his own mind. Kind of like suicide bombers.

Thanks, Stix. No, Frankie is stationed in another part of the state, so he wasn't involved.
  10. Thanks, Sandrew. I am touched by everything you've said.

  12. As soon as Brandon and I pulled in the driveway after work on Thursday, Elliot came rushing out of the house to greet us. "Have you heard the news?" "What news?" "Come inside. They're talking about it on the television." When we reached the family room, the local news broadcast was on and the entire family was watching it. "It was an unbelievable and bloody scene," the reporter was saying. "In all, there are five dead and several others were wounded in the incident that took
  13. Thanks, Lisa, and I did.
  14. Thanks, Sly, Caz, Krista, Defiance, Headstall, Palantir, and Greg A. For those of you who haven't reached this age or surpassed it, try not to grow old. Old age isn't the Golden Years unless you're talking about the numerous trips to the toilet.
  15. Thanks, DDK, aditus, and Reader. I appreciate the kind birthday wishes!
  16. Happy Birthday, Cia! I hope you have a great one and may you enjoy many, many more. Since you work so hard, take the rest of the day off! It's on me!
  17. Meeko, from what you've said here, I'm not so sure he was accusing you of being gay. I think he felt he should investigate the suggestion his mentor gave him and decided to ask you, rather than accuse you. Don't get upset, because he just trying to figure things out. As Headstall pointed out, he's just a kid and not worldly, so he felt this was something he should investigate. To me it doesn't sound as if he was accusing, he was merely asking. I hope this helps. Shouldn't we all ask questions about things we're not sure of?
  18. Don't we all the first time? I'm sure they'll get over it. Thanks for the feedback, Stix.
  19. Thanks, Jon. The two characters just seemed to come together and hit it off.
  20. Thanks, tor.
  21. Thanks, Dahawk. It may have surprised some that Ryan was doing this, but he doesn't feel forced or pressured, and he made up his own mind.
  22. Happy Birthday, Caz! I hope you have a great one and may you enjoy many, many more.
  23. The following week passed by quickly, since Brandon and I were busy taking the boys to their practices and games, as well as muddling through our normal routines. Elliot spent most of his time with Ian, while Noah was hanging out with Adam. Noah had also asked Adam's parents to join us for the cookout, but they didn't give him an immediate reply. They said they'd talk it over and then let him know later. Since Adam was at our house one night when we got home from work, I decided to ask
