Thanks, Butcher, and I'm glad you enjoyed this story. I went with the epilogue because there weren't very many people who wanted me to continue with it, but who knows what the future might hold. Thanks again for the feedback.
Yes, Butcher, things like this are disgusting and upsetting. Although these homes are supposed to be monitored, the case workers are often overworked and have too many homes to monitor as well as they should. Let's hope the situation improves over the years.
Yes, Butcher, it was a close call and Megan was lucky Adam was around. Like all youngsters, they don't want to be reminded when something nearly goes wrong, because they want to believe they can take care of themselves, but I still think they're glad that Adam and Mike are their friends.
Butcher, that's why Adam and Mike followed them into the woods to see what was going on, and the reason Adam stopped it from going further. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks, Jon, and I'm sure a lot of others have had similar experiences. It can be scary for a youngster, especially if it brought back memories of when something like that had happened before. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter.
Thanks, Wes. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, but obviously you made it through the experience ok, just as Benny will. Actually, it was guys like you that I started writing this story for. I had several young men who shared stories about their terrible situations after reading my other stories and said they wished they'd had a nice home to grow up in, so I gave them the Castaway Hotel as their 'escape' home.
We started the weekend by taking the boys swimming again. One thing that mildly surprised us was that Ryan didn't seem to be quite as concerned in the locker room when others were in there with us. I was following him as he walked to the shower with his towel draped over his shoulder, when another man entered the locker room. Ryan hesitated momentarily, but then continued on and walked past the man without trying to cover up or making a scene. I wasn't sure if he did this because he knew I w
Now if they did those in dark blue many mechanics might be willing to wear one of those in a hot shop, since the only difference between them and their normal work coveralls is no pant legs.
The next week was interesting, because I noticed Noah and Ryan were together a great deal of the time. Dad even asked about it and wondered if they might be fooling around. I merely told him it was possible and explained that the boys knew we didn't mind, as long as they both agreed to whatever they were up to. He merely smiled and walked away without making any further comments.
Saturday, after we returned home from our weekly swim, I got the boys together so I could discuss something
Thanks, Butch, (and I hope you don't mind me shortening Butcher). Yes, Adam runs into things nearly everyplace he goes, but if you think about it, haven't you run into many similar situations where you wished you could have done something to help? There will be more of these situation in his future too, so he will he deal with each one?
Thanks, Butch, I'm glad you're enjoying this story. The boys are definitely having fun, especially helping others out, and being at the lake is a good time too. Thanks for the feedback.
Happy Birthday, Myr!
The big 4-0, huh big guy?
Who'd have thunk all those years ago that we'd still be doing this?
I wish you all the best on your special day!
And I hope you have a great one and may you enjoy many, many more.
