    Ryan

Thanks, stix. You'll have to wait and see how Ryan makes out.
  2. After I woke up the next morning, I went to make sure Ryan was awake and getting ready to go with me. He was half dressed when I got to his room, so I told him I'd see him at the breakfast table. While we were eating, the other boys went out of their way to tell Ryan that he'd like his new school and that everybody there was really great. Noah also told him that most of the teachers were nice too, and Dion reminded Ryan that he'd be there part of the time, if he ever needed anything. I
  3. Dumb idea. If you think traffic on the streets and roads is bad, think what it would be like in the air when there is nothing to restrict the flow of traffic and cars are flying to and fro at the will of a driver who thinks he's more important than anyone else. It would be like opening the amusement park ride 'bumper cars' in the air, except the cars being driven wouldn't be padded for your protection. If you thought personal drones were a hazard to air traffic, try putting a bunch of ego-crazed, self-absorbed idiots in the air to mess with air traffic. On top of that, can you imagine the people that run out of gas, have engine problems, or an accident in the air and then come crashing down into a building, such as your house, or a crowded street? No thank you, flying cars are not high on my list of desired innovations.
  4. RIP, Gilbert Baker. I remember in the early days of the gay pride movement there was a lot of controversy over what the gay pride symbol should be. In the end, the rainbow flag was the symbol most people accepted, and now it's a very recognizable symbol. It's a shame he died so young. He should have had another twenty years ahead of him.

    Ryan

Thanks, Wes, tor, and John. You had to imagine there would be a little drama, considering how Ryan came there.

    Uncertainty

Yes, John, I'm sure this isn't the only time something like that happened.

Thanks, Stix. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
  8. The next morning, Ryan wasn't up when we were ready to sit down to eat with everyone else. I wasn't sure if he had trouble getting to sleep or if he was just enjoying a little extra shuteye, but I didn't want him to miss out on the special breakfast Trey and Brandon had prepared. Therefore, I asked Benny to go wake him up. Of course his shadow, Joshie, followed him upstairs when he went to do it. A couple of minutes later they returned, but Ryan wasn't with them. "What's up? Where's R
  9. Happy Birthday, Spikey! I hope you have a great one and may you enjoy many, many more.

Thanks, Wes. Yes, that will add some difficulty. For how long, we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks. I posted it early to see if I'd have problems with the new setup. It turns out I did, but I've corrected it now and it should be fine.
  14. My question is, do we still need to do the search to replace the '^p^p' with '^p'? I ask, because when I did that and pasted it in the text box when getting ready to post it, all of my paragraphs appeared run together, with no blank line between them. When I tried to just copy and paste as it was, it appeared better in the text box, but when I posted the chapter the blank lines between the paragraphs appeared doubled. Is it supposed to look cramped before you save it, and should I go back and edit what I just posted?
  15. Nothing of much importance happened until the end of January when we received an unexpected phone call from Little Ricky. It happened on a Thursday night so I knew something was up, because he only got in touch with us on the weekend unless it was related to business. "What's up, bro?" I asked after learning who was on the other end of the line. "Danny, I have a favor to ask of you and Brandon," he replied. "Don't tell me you have another boy you want us to take in," I said, bu
  16. Another legend is gone! RIP, Chuck, and thanks for the great memories. The movie Back to the Future wouldn't have been the same if Marty McFly didn't have your act to copy.
  17. Thanks, John. I think you'll find the next chapter even more interesting.
  18. Thanks, Stix.
  19. Thanks, tor.
  20. When Brandon and I got home from work on Monday, I went inside to get Elliot and then I followed him when he took his car to the body shop. Elliot was just about to drop the key through the night slot when the manager came to the door. "I was just getting ready to lock up, but I'll take the key for you." "Thank you, sir. I appreciate you working my car into your busy schedule." "It's my pleasure. I would hate to see you driving around with it looking like that," he added after glancing

After they graduated, Mike and Adam spent a few days with their parents before they had to start their jobs. Adam was beginning his internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, while Mike was kicking off his career working for the State's Attorney for Baltimore County. Since they were now employed in the same general area, they found a fairly nice apartment located about halfway between their two workplaces. Adam was mentally prepared for the first of the twenty-six, six-week rotations he had to co
