  1. In the American South West, they love hot peppers. So do I. And we have evolved in the West, we tend to like spicier foods. Now what spices would you use for goat/ lamb? There's a cookbook dedicated to this in Dom Luka's forum. (Yes, I know we're getting off topic!)
  2. Actually, CJ's "poor, misunderstood Eric" would be the most incriminating evidence against him. Or cloud of smoke, if he indeed is innocent. And I agree, there would be quite an explanation to give. The 1st person narrative also gets us to see reality through Chris' eyes, who starts the story completely despaired by the disgusting blackmail, and who has consequently a bad opinion of Eric. He is guilty, no doubt, he even admitted some of his crimes, the issue that remains is to know if he was forced to act the way he did (I doubt it) and if he runs the crime ring. I didn't join the Pro-Ericers, but of course a shocking revelation can still be in order. Well, make that "is in order". The epilogue has been written for a long time, I'm eager to know what's in it.
  3. I did. Solan and Aedan's little feud is quite cute. The story reads really well; too bad we've got to wait for a while for the next installment! Keep on having fun writing, we'll have fun reading.
  4. Lots of these, in my experience, would apply to employers' evaluations.
  5. Do not forget about Beelzebub. Or Veronica. Or Rob and Joe (their body repair shop could be a cover for an illegal operation). And the worst is to think CJ/ Shadowgod is behind all of this.
  6. So, you managed to list eleven reasons to hate Eric, and that could explain his actions. I see your point, and I actually believed in this theory until the staking out episode. At this time, he acts on his own free will, he's not wired and watched, and though he obviously acts with accomplices (getting a ride and so on...), he comes across more as a leader than as a follower. Of course, CJ not only writes a whodunit, he is also evil as was amply demonstrated in various threads on this site. So there could be more shocking revelations. Actually the Mr. Williams' theory would blend in well with yours. But then I would hate the author as much as I hated Agatha Christie when I read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Of course, being a gracious and considerate Eric-hater, would I be proved wrong and would he turn out to be a victim indeed, I would admit defeat in this very thread. We'll see how it turns out.
  7. Happy Birthday! (let me get the cake... my favorite one... here you go!)
  8. Darn! I was supposed to post the lyrics to our national anthem on July the 14th, know from Americans as Bastille Day (in French: le 14 juillet); consider yourself lucky I forgot, Jack. Interesting explanations on this site. Ban these referring to WWI and WWII; this must be older. As for CJames explaining Life's a Grind is not about the coffee industry: you're right, nothing explicit is said, but I measured my coffee consumption, and since Life's a Grind's been over, it has decreased slowly after reaching a high of more than 19% compared to ante-Grind consumption. Hence my theory of it being financed by the coffee industry planting subliminal messages in it seems valid. In radio serials in the 50s, tobacco makers did the same, though their messages were not this subliminal (the one with the guy explaining Camel Mild is deemed better for your throat by doctors is hilarious). Wine makers did that too. So why not the coffee industry?
  9. Shame on me, then. What's The Holiday? Do you own a set of very sharp knives?
  10. OK, there's a contest going on, with a super extra prize for the person getting post 1,000. The latest activity is to give a word that starts with the last letter of the previous post. I'll consider your post valid, Kevin, since you're the Prince Charming of this thread. Royal
  11. I read the first four chapters. The set of characters is great, they go through a lot of adventures that are quite revealing about them. There are touches of humor, and the first person narrator is quite credible. Two more to go before the next posting, eh, eh!
  12. Yes, I have this fine LP by the Rolling Stones. Hehe! The person below me plans on going to the movies/ pictures within the next week or so.
