  6. A beautiful article that portrays my and many other people's predicament quite accurately. As Ieshwar put it, living in Asia as a homosexual/bisexual is quite difficult. Esp. in South Asia, where the prejudices are so rampant that one can't go far to find it. Nevertheless, my heart goes out to the mother who had to go through this and to each and every one of those people who have to take this decision. As for me, I simply don't know. I mean, the option of going to another country that is gay-friendly is very tempting, but I would never ever abandon my country. My future plans include studying abroad, but after that all roads lead back to India. I feel...no, I know that that day is not far when same-sex couples would get recognition in India too and the spark for that revolution has already started. Hugs! The BeaStKid
  7. Congratulations to two of the best posters here at GA, who not only give an insight into their psyche with their awesome posts, but also enlighten the not so bright readers on a different perspective. As Francois puts it, these are just numbers...But these numbers speak a volume of your contribution to this forum. Congrats once again, both of you!! The BeaStKid

  13. Dhruv, you have to bear in mind that even a ₤28 gift or a $50 gift is quite high in terms of their currency. Imagine that a few years ago ( I think it is still there but I don't know about their price rise index so can't comment) you could buy an ince-cream sundae for $0.50!! Could you ever buy one here for 50 paise????! So, the value for money is quite a lot there if you do not compare it in absolute terms with the Indian Rupee. If you want to tell them the absolute value in terms of PPP, then I think 2000 Rs would amount to $150 ( and that is being very modest) The BeaStKid
  14. According to what little I know about GA, I don't think there is a problem with posting non-homosexual content stories here. I can list at least two stories off-hand where thre wasn't any homosexual content. One of them even dealt with a highly taboo issue. (Yeah I'm taliking about Nick's latest anthology entry) My next anthology entry, though has a homosexual protagonist, but doesn't have anything more. He is just that and nothing else. So, my suggestion to you is to post it here and see if you get a good response. We have a diverse readership here at GA!! The BeaStKid P.S Just noticed you said that you'll be posting the story. Good going!
  15. Thanks a ton, Kevin
  16. Not that I know of, there aren't any festivals for same-sex siblings...

  22. It has been a tradition where the brother vows to protect his sister from harm and the little piece of thread she ties around his wrist is a symbol of that trust.
  23. It is a Hindu religious symbol.
