  1. an interesting tale for sure. If only more people were so aware..........
  2. Nifty is back online here again too. A temporary fault evidently
  3. Currently, this is at 2100 Uk time, many people have been unable to access the Nifty Archive. It could be that there is a temporary problem. I have just been to Niftyorg chat room and enquired. That is still up and running. They are trying to find out the current position. Mike.g
  4. Welcome Bigbopper101, and Aleric too! Welcome to GA and hope to see you posting here as well as reading. Thanks for the great post Aleric; you'll see I replied to it, and yes Movieguy, you're quite right. More of the regulars should be welcoming the new members! Welcome all.
  5. PS Your birthday present is in the post as I speak! I have returned the first parts of your story from editing! LOL. I now await the second part of Patrick's story!
  6. A very warm welcome to all new members; let's hope you enjoy the site and all that it has to offer! Crackerwriter
  7. Frankly Mike I thought we all knew that Comsie was leaving later on in the year? He hasn't exactly made a secret of it. Mike.g
  8. Happy Birthday Green! Have a good one. :king:
  9. Not only is the editor not dead, but is alive and well, if not exactly kicking! If the author has lost his mind, then I have a fair idea where most 18 yo's keep their brains. Perhaps I should check that out too? Mike.g
  10. Happy Birthday to You! :king:
  11. Any openings in the local paper? I'm sure they could use a good author.....? Glad that no one of your family was hurt in the fracas.
  12. The first one I came across was Charlie's 'Kenny'. It made me realise that there was gay fiction out there that wasn't all 'wham bam, thank you ma'me!' I hadn't even discovered Nifty at that time, and I think it was the mention of Nifty at the bottom of the story, or maybe it was Chatlie's reply personally that made me aware of it, and made me wonder if I could write anything like that. I'd never tried anything of the sort before. I remember hating writing compositions or stories at school for homework. I used to hate writing letters too! After getting a computer however all that changed. I didn't mind typing for practice. I became a kind of 'penpal' friend with a guy in Hereford, about 160 miles away, and I started sending him email. Eventually I started writing my life experiences for him since he was still a virgin. Charlie's writing inspired me a lot I can tell you, and it was the emotional content of his writing that made it that much more special for me. It made me careful to include the same sort of ting in my own writing. Well Daryl - that was his name - said he loved it, so I thought maybe I'd go the whole way and write a complete story, which I did. But I must give thanks to Charlie for the inspiration which poked me in the ribs and got me off my literary backside, to get on with it!
  13. I can't edit what isn't sent. So kindly ask if you wish the rest of the story edited before resigning me to the scrapheap.
  14. Please read my PM reply before declaring your editor dead!
  15. I practically wet myself over the cuckoo clock.
  16. Well it certainly happened to me. It wasn't the first thing that I wrote about, but I realised that I'd proably been lucky enough to enjoy just such a relationship as we often write about. So I thought to myself, 'this would make a great story'. I've been told repeatedly it did. I suppose because it's mostly true. Read about Johnny and I if you want. It's on my hosted author's site. How could I not share the story of the most wonderful person I've ever met? Never got over him I guess. There's always one if it's for real.
  17. Oh I'm not knocking Nifty, just pointing out that it has its limitations.
  18. Welcome to Gay Authors, or GA as we often shorten it. It occured to me, that maybe a few of you weren't aware of some of the parts of this site that you are missing out on, by remaining just guests. Right now membership is free, although we would never turn down a donation or two if you felt so inclined (!), and you get access to more parts of the site and have the right to post replies as members. That doesn't mean you have to forgo your privacy or anything like that. You can remain as anoymous as you wish, yet still enjoy the benefits. As some of us are authors, we'd also appreciate your views on our work, and help us develop it, so don't forget to email the author if you like a story or not! So don't stay out in the cold - come and join us!
  19. As our Latest member, welcome, dbeck. Enjoy the site, and feel free to post in the forums.
  20. And let's face it guys, they could so easily have put in a link to Nifty. Hmm... maybe that's worth a thought or two. Let's face it, Nifty is fine if you just want to look for stories, but doesn't perhaps give much more interest than that. Ok, their chat site is 24/7 and I know quite a few there myself. (you'll find me as 'Jay'), but that's about it as far as commenting, other than emailing the author of any story you read. (There's a hint there, ok? ) The fact they chose ours is perhaps all the more reason to give a bit of support to ours to keep it going! Dig deep guys. I'm about to as soon as I've paid the gas bill. (Err, that's not gasoline by the way, for our American readers, but the stuff the cooker and central heating uses!) Hey let's wave the GA flag a lttle!
  21. Have a Happy New Year everyone! It's an hour and forty seven minutes to go to midnight.
  22. Really? The mere thought brings tears to my eyes. I think you've been misinformed. Personally I've always worn boxers, ever since I started buying my own underwear and vanquished to the bin, the Y-fronts that my mother used to buy me. My b/fs have always seem to have worn something similar too, so I asume they wear boxers for comfort like I do. There's no way I'm torturing myself for anyone; I'm not into pain for pain's sake! Anyway, boxers provide room for expansion and things to, um... move around a bit.
  23. I hope at least you had a Happy Christmas. May your God go with you.
  24. Oh dear, should we be posting here or in Xmas Wishes! LOL. Never mind. From one in the UK, a Very Merry Christmas to all of you at Gay Authors! And a prosperous New Year of course. (I'm sorry, I don't go for the term 'Happy Holidays'. If you're not a Christian, then all I can add is: May your God go with you, whoever he is. Hope that covers it!)
  25. Well it's not the first time this subject has been raised, and I'm very sure it won't be the last. As the article points out, heterosexual Christians would no way want to admit the possibility of Jesus being gay. But why does it really matter? Jesus himself said that the most important thing in life was love for one's fellow man. Now in those times it wasn't fashionable to refer to women and everything was refered to as "male", but I'm sure that didn't exclude women. In fact if you read into that more carefully, it didn't exclude ANY sex. Gay people certainly aren't a modern thing at all of course, and there were probably at least the same percentage of gay people then as there are now. What Jesus meant it would seem, was that every human being should show love for every other human being. SO, he definitely wasn't discriminating against the gay population. Whether he was gay himself, we can never prove for sure, and perhaps we should never presume to try, but at least we may take comfort in the fact that he didn't mind gay people.
