Yeah, Alec is mourning but I'm really wondering what. Is he mourning his mother in the casket or is he mourning the one that he wanted his mother to be and the lost chances now everything is definitely over? OK, maybe I dig too deep, it was just a thought. Besides: the end of this chapter gives hope! The die is cast.,..he's coming back to live with his one and only big love. Yeah...I almost shed a few tears while reading it...memories, you know?

Thank you for your nice comment. But you already have a backlog of 5 chapters, so there's a lot to catch up on🙂 Love Georgie D'Hainaut

In which Collin considers his position in case Kyle should join them, finding the answers in his cultural roots, and in which Jamie starts his private rebellion against the land gentry, in the process unchaining Kyle from the shackles of factual slavery. Collin wasn’t overwhelmed with enthusiasm when Jamie excitedly and tempestuously suggested that Kyle could move with them. But he didn’t want to hurt the boy’s feelings and promised him to take it into consideration. There was enoug

Yeah...don't know about the situation in the States, but that was Gold old Albion in the 1920s. And it is even getting worse in the next chapter....
-
But who was Kyle? Kyle was the second-born child of Liam and Emily Elliot, but it was their only surviving child. His sister, that should have been one year older, succumbed early to the ever-present child mortality, which prevailed widely in those days, especially when the parents were poor. To confirm their position in the social pecking order of the day the vicar had decided to put the little girl in a simple hole in the ground, like she was refuse. No coffin, no funeral, no grav

Funny by the way how people revert to a kind of unwanted grief if their tormentor for years "kicks the bucket" (nice expression🙂). But luckily it didn't lead to complete dissociation, something I was afraid of at the beginning of the chapter. Oh yeah...River...what a giant!!!! So he was unkind to some homophob ladies at the hospice. So what? Nobody asked them to be homophob and they can expect this kind of reaction if good old River turns up. Nobody said the life of a homophobe is easy nowadays because we claim our rights! Anyway....no matter how harsh it may sound...I hope that the decease of the wicked witch gives Alec some support in finally overcoming all pain. But I'm very careful with this author...he might invent another unexpected turn.

Dogs can be a great help when a human being is in emotional distress.

Oh aye, Scotch have very funny sports....throwing tree trunks and the like...and taking advantage of southerners. A wee funny folk😂

Because I planned it that way😀

In which the intensity of the friendship with Kyle catapults into higher spheres of blissfulness. The short lunchtime talk, the stealthy kiss and the ostensibly accident-like touch made, that the two boys agreed that Jamie would visit Kyle one of the next evenings. He told Collin of the plan, who thought it to be a splendid idea and who even came up with a bottle of wine at the evening involved. “Where did you get that?”, an astonished Jamie wanted to know. “I really couldn

First a cry from the heart: "A justified one." Yes, Alec, you are a justified person. If somebody, who did all to you what she has done there's no need for grieve. But what a powerful chapter, well...another powerful chapter.

Chapter 2: Well Meant...but oh so wrong!
Georgie DHainaut commented on Georgie DHainaut's story chapter in Chapter 2: Well Meant...but oh so wrong!
Don't understand the chapter as a moral condemnation on what Jamie did. Actually: he really meant well and, in his youthful inexperience and innocence, it was splendid opportunity to earn a lot of cash, preferably 20 pounds. And let's face it: history still repeats itself until the present day all over the world, where the weak are not only exploited economically, but also sexually. The author is pretty sure about that, being no angelic saint in his young days. On the other hand: Collin's reaction is understandable as well! But it is meant as a general condemnation of all sexual exploitation of the weak by the mighty, one represented by Jamie, the other by the pedophilic laird. That is the stylistic meaning of it, besides that I use this item in another context in a later chapter to let the weak break free of their social chains. Things will get clearer in the next chapters. Love Georgie -
Chapter 2: Well Meant...but oh so wrong!
Georgie DHainaut commented on Georgie DHainaut's story chapter in Chapter 2: Well Meant...but oh so wrong!
The fact that "he was going to get raped anyway" played through my mind when writing it, but I choose the option "of making the best of it". But yes, Collin is in my personal opinion 100% right as well. Love Georgie -
In which Jamie meets a new friend but also gets acquainted with the ugliest aspects of Medieval-style serfhood in the most exploitative and beastly meaning of the word, causing him to make a very bad decision in an effort to solve a huge problem. They continued their voyage, finally crossing the Scottish border with Collin muttering something like: “Beware of the midges, laddie. They can saw yer arm off!” Jamie didn’t have the faintest idea what he was talking about and

Hi there, Thanks for your comment. Great Britain in 1920...no, there was more to it than "Don't frighten the horses". As will become clear in the following chapters. I've got me a pretty good idea how this resolves itself...in the next 16 chapters. Love Georgie

Exactly, you're on the right track....

Wait and see, guys🙂. Like my old mama used to say: "Patience is a beautiful thing"😂 Love Georgie

Well, things are ALMOST clear but the nasty author built in a very nice delay effect to keep us all guessing where the coin will roll. And he did it in an exquisite way. But what a great chapter. I like the third person in the whole...I mean Herky🙂 But alas, having read through my backlog I will have to wait for the next chapter to appear.

Hi, Victorian/Edwardian is most certainly far before 1920. But I can assure you: it is not a rent boy tale. I can understand the initial impression/reaction, but there's more behind it and more to come. So I kindly ask you to be patient and judge later. Love Georgie

Sorry, I'm late again....you know...holiday obligations. I hate holidays but so every now and then it happens😀. So, started to read the backlog. Great chapter again....hmmmm....scrolling for real estate for sale? Thinking how to move over the whole country? Nicely hidden but very clear clues....I'm really glad it seems to work out with a delay of a full decade. At least, I hope there aren't any nasty surprises in store in the head of some wicked author😂 Being delayed with reading has one advantage: at least I don't have to wait for chapter 28🙂
