  1. I finaly got to this story. I'm really slowly working my way through the anthology. It is so amazing! If it develops into a longer story that will be great. Bring on the booz!
  2. Happy Birthday! Have a good one.
  3. I think its unanimous: The roasting is postponed. I say postponed because it is not the first time GA members have taken out the cook books. Knowing our goat, it probably won't be the last.
  4. Great chapter! Some surprises here. I was sure it was Chase who fell. I think the goat will live for a few more chapters.
  5. Happy New Year everyone! I still have a few hours of 2007 but I think most of you are already starting 2008.
  6. Thanks guys! I love our anthologies.
  7. Happy Birthday! Have a good one.
  8. If that was a Merry Christmas chapter, what do we get for New Years? The apocalypse? The terrorists blow a hole in the planet and send it out of the solar system? I loved the joke they played on Eric and John! That was funny. As for who died, I'm not sure anyone is dead. The car that followed them was probably carying reporters. They had to stay far away to avoid being seen. There is no way they could have been sure that an accident was fatal. They probably assumed that it was so that they would be the first to publish the story. They probably could not identify the victim either. There is no way that Brandon or John could have been killed unless someone fell on top of them. In that case two deaths would have been reported. Wilde was on top of the cliff so he is fine. Eric did not notice Steve's shocked expression so Eric must have survived. Steve himself witnessed the accident unharmed. Zeke was securing a rope on the ground if I understand the situation correctly. The only one left to fall is Chase. The coment on him being the favorite despite everything could apply to Chase because of all the trouble with his family. The only other possibility I see is a large rock falling on someone but that sound like a looney toons moment.
  9. Does this mean that the goat recipe thread will come back? Are those the only options? I liked the tar and feather idea someone had several months ago. I don't remember what the goat did that time but I'm sure it was equaly bad.
  10. I wanted a number of things and got them. The most important was peace and quiet. That's not so easy to get with both my parents by the dinner table. They managed to get along. I also wanted a new toilet seet for my bathroom. The old one was cracked and pinching people. That also found its way under the tree. Thanks Santa!
  11. Merry Christmas! I hope its been a good one for everyone. If you ate too much, don't worry its only one day (and there's always 'pepto bismal')!
  12. Happy Birthday!
  13. Happy Birthday! Have a great year!
  14. Hi there, Welcome to GA. It's always good to have someone join. We're usualy more active and chaty but its that time of year...that happy time of year when the shopping malls nearly colapse under the weight of more desperate sleep deprived people than should ever be alowed under one roof. Thank goodness many of us are internet shopers! Anyway, things should be back to normal in a few weeks.
  15. Wow! What a biography! Merry Christmas!
  16. Great chapter, as usual. I love your characters. It's still a little hard to keep track of the names of the characters in the Australian subplot. I think that will get better for me as the story continues. It's great the way you made your engineer long winded and geeky. (I've met a few like that.) I think the shadows have some kind of enbarasing sectret that could be uncovered if someone started poking around. I'm thinking something along the lines of a drunken encounter with a guy maybe in an airport bathroom. Well, maybe not the bathroom part. The birthday gift was great. Hmmm, what could we get a young rock musician? I know! A book about decorating. I'm sure he will love that!
  17. Happy Birthday! Best wishes for the next year.
  18. Congratulations! The year would not have been the same without you.
  19. I'm with you. Except for the bumper to bumper situation I think its just more fun to drive with a manual transmision. It is a pain to learn though. Unlike most kids I was not in a hurry to learn to drive. Why bother when my parents can take me every where I need to go? It took me forever to learn but I am happy I did. I have driven automatics a few times but I don't like them. Being dyslexic I can't tell my left from my right very well. Having two pedals that differ only in their location (left or right) seems like a bad idea for me. I once did get confused like this but it was in a car from a driving school and the instructor had an extra set of peddals. My other problem is that I live on a steep hill. If I drive an automatic it shifts into third at just the wrong spot and is forced to crawl up the hill in second the rest of the way. In this case the manual transmision has a clear advantage...Besides, you can burn more rubber with a manual transmission.
  20. Christmas puding sound pretty good but our cakes are actualy baked goods. Here fruit cakes are heavy cakes with lots of cut up dried and/or fresh fruit in them. There are more ways to make fruit cake than I can count. The only consistent thing seems to be that they have chunks of fruit in them and an indefinite shelf life. (They can dry out and harden though.) I have to admit that the chunks of fruit look a little intimidating. The cakes you can get at the super markets often have brightly colored chunks that are barely recognizable as fruit. They look more like misshapen jelly beans. Maybe the more apropriate question here is what makes a good fruit cake since there are so many different kinds.
  21. Here in the USA the fruit cake is the but of many holiday jokes. It has a reputation for being the most disgusting desert known to mankind. What do you think? I like them. I even make my own and eat them. Am I a complete freak?
  22. Great chapter! I can't wait to see who exactly will be hanging off a cliff (and if anyone will be charged with atempted murder.)
  23. Happy Uranian Equonox! Uranus takes several decades to complete an orbit...and who doesn't like a planet with a name like Uranus. To anyone who is taking a statistical mechanics class, I feel your pain! I had to take that class at one point. It's the nastiest part of physics to ever see the light of day. At least it was for me.
  24. If you choose power do you get power over the fairy who gave you the power? If I could have power over the fairy I could just ask him for whatever else I wanted and he would have to give it to me. ...not that I would take advantage of the poor creature. If I had to choose just one I would go with freedom. I like doing my own thing. If I could have fun and not have anyone give me crap that's good enough.
  25. Great chapter! I can't believe the guys finaly got around to it. They could always get a goat drawn vehicle.
