I think I'd have to agree to the conspiracy of silence, but now I fear it may be Joey that may crack and spill the truth in a hateful tirade at his father. ..................I do wonder if it wouldn't have been wiser to prosecute Mr. Patterson first then deport him, it could have helped in expediting both the divorce and application for citizenship. Plus having his mug shot taken with a conviction of breaking and entering and burglary on police files in case of an unwelcome return. I do hope that Loyd is confronted by Kyle during the separation and soon apologies to Grant for his juvenile antics. I guess I would have liked to hear a bit more about the great barrier reef on their trip. (I understand it is pretty much dead now) Greay 2 chapters!!

....................... Hi, sorry for the lateness in replying to the chapters. Great continuation of the story. Addressing Kyle and Grant connection? I didn't think so, however Kyle and Christoper was more likely to me as Christopher seems to be living with his (judge) uncle and aunt and to the unanswered question why! When you think of it Grant has not had a real 'vacation' since after his parents death. I was most surprised that the party interruption came from Mrs. Parkes, I don't know why, But I rather thought it would either be both the parents of Kyle and Quinn's, or maybe just the father, but I didn't expect just the mother. However I did expect the discovery to happen, it seemed to be preordained in these stories!

....................From the beginning I called out Cindy's callousness attitude towards Devon's plight, she has no defense for her actions. in fact a psychologist should start his sessions by slapping Cindy! At least Jeff is finally understanding how deep Devon has been wounded, when is going to dawn on him how much damage Devon has really suffered, I doubt he has seen Devon's chest and back, I'm sure Devon is going to parade himself at those 'fab' summer pool parties. However, Cindy MUST have been informed by the doctor and how long the abuse has been going on. scars don't lie. Perplexing is 1) His grand-parents never contacted Devon nor his mother and brother. 2) If they claim otherwise, why didn't they follow through after not hearing from him? 3) His mother (Cindy) works for children's rights and welfare as an advocate lawyer, WTF!! I think Jeff will push for healing and not be swayed to let this slide.

..........................Nah, a repeat performance of the 'Harper Valley PTA' as desirable as it would sound, would probably do more damage then it would be worth! However, as it stands Billy won't be valedictorian anyways if politics has its way, Sarah will be giving the speech unless she does something very stupid publicly and gets caught. As far as Joey goes, if he does have the 'knowledge' of the affair and his relationship with Brett, if I were him I'd blackmail dear old dad into a summer job and money for college. I still wonder if Billy's father did leave him more them a coin collection, or if part of the collection is worth more money then he would need for college. Should be interesting to read further chapters!

..................... Poor Grant learned way to early of loss, his loss of Rory changed his emotional state and outlook and Gran was the only thing holding him back from leaving. Now at 17-18 years old he is leaving heading back to Australia to continue to build his empire. Great chapter!.

.......................Too much happiness was doomed to hit a major roadblock, within the family, the kids are very resilient ( @droughtquake came up with the right idea for Bella ) and will bounce back. Stanley will cause trouble for Kyle and Blu, I wonder if it be wise to stir up the hornets nest so close to home (you know some busy body will discover the petition to adopt and get it into the local newspaper) maybe find a nice quiet little liberal courthouse in a gay friendly resort town a few hundred miles away . Great chapter!!

............... I for one thought Tom was too obvious, that I dismissed him as a long shot. In fact, thinking about the first time shortly after Robbie's mother's death, didn't Tom and Robbie get caught in bed together by Don and Sue? And they first thought it odd, then dismissed it as an extension of Robbie's grief? Now in light of Robbie's revelation, why would Don invite Tom over to stay? Is he trying to be a homewrecker? I just don't trust those two, especially Don, a leopard does not change his spots overnight. Great chapter!

....................... Yeah, kids that act out like he does with his cronies is begging for attention it could be abuse from home. His reactions of his mothers rebut in the car really shook the kid up, and he must of felt no way out!

..........................Ahh, Quakka always a pleasure to read a story of yours. A similar thyme with different business and scenery yet our young hero perseveres his almost fatal accident and bullied encounters. Now we get a glimpse of Scotland with its seasons and country flavor, I'm sure Grant will take in an interest in running another business venture, as he can't help himself. . Great story chapters!

....................Why is it I have a sneaky suspicion that Joey may already know ALL about the affair. Joey may do some stupid shit, but he also sounds contrite for his actions. But does he know the truth or have suspicions of his own? He has to see the similarities between Brett and himself, wonder why the interest his father gives Brett. Brett may already know the truth, and way before Billy became aware of the facts. I think what Jack did showed his true colors, pulling his ace card ace card to bribe Billy like he did with witness's, that is commendable (for a weasel like he is). In fact; I think that Billy should publicly thank him say at commencement and tell everyone what a swell guy Jack is by also offering his 'son' Joey the internship, yeah, that ought to do it!

......................Most excellent story, very well written. I seldom read survival stories as sometimes to much abuse is hars to take, however it was the journey taken that that inspired to read it in less then a week. Loved the ending, (btw, was that the same 'Anderson' daddy that attacked 'A' back at the party?) nice touch with the homeless Anderson kid. Great story!!

..............Well that went better then I expected, it was Lincoln who surprised me with his exceptional manners. I wonder if the kids overheard talk about nan before she showed up? She certainly met her match with the twins, it was very fitting made for a calm quiet thanksgiving dinner! When Jared and Mason finally own up and everybody is nonplussed even Levi. Great chapter!

I agree that Robbie has a big mouth, however the banter between Alex and him was more of a cover-up, it was rather awkward seeing all three together each putting on poker faces deceiving only themselves. Sue's actions are definitely suspicious, I still have an uneasy feeling about the adoption her 2nd time noting to Robbie that Nathan cannot go with him on Friday. It sounds like a trap, perhaps an attempt at intervention? Now that Robbie is legally adopted can Don put Robbie in a conversion camp or something similar? I don't know about Robbie, but I've suddenly developed a headache thinking about Alex moving in! Great chapter!

.....................I had a bad feeling about Brett riding that motorcycle in the first place, the forbearance was so obvious. I guess I'm surprised at Billy's mother action, her attitude disappeared as her maternal instincts kicked in. Hmmmm, "my sweet little Dusty" well when in recovery they can tell Brett (AKA "peanut" ) how bad he looked!! Great chapter!
