  1. A fantastic birthday celebration until it sent me for the Kleenex. Specifically it was the move-in date, and Nate’s reaction, that set off my waterworks…first. The conversation around consultation before copulation got to me too. How amazing to have that offer of guidance and love from the Uncles. Bodie had never had shepherd’s pie? How can that be? He’s Canadian isn’t he?? My Australian mother would have been shocked to silence. Isn’t it some kind of colonial requisite meal?
  2. Boyfriends? That is beyond adorable! I’m beginning to understand just how tough it is for gay kids... Maybe Mark has seen the light but 180° is halfway to 360°. I’m prepared to be disappointed by him. Again. You've written every gay man’s dream with K&M and now you’re adding every gay boy’s hope with the Aceto clan welcoming Bodie. That birthday gift is mighty impressive!
  3. Lort. Whole lot going on in this chapter! The email from Josh? Heartbreaking. The response from Nate? Heartwarming. The biggest smile? “No promises, baby boy.” Rescued each other? I sure hope so.
  4. The “final piece” of them. That’s just beautiful. Their bedroom scenes aren’t just sensual they’re instructional! I’m sure if I pondered longer I’d make better use of my vocabulary, but I’m stuck on…beautiful.
  5. You have held my attention for 50 chapters and I’m so pleased I’m not at the end just yet. Bodie is an over thinker? What other blonde does that bring to mind? Hmm
  6. These young ‘uns are going to make my heart burst! If only every Nate found a Bodie so early in life. Add the rest of the Acetos plus Unc? So much love and understanding. Two Kleenex chapter.

    Beanie Babies

“Navigating a boat against the waves of one’s family history is never easy.” That sentence cuts right to the heart of the matter in many ways and for more than just Jay and Loren, I think. Lars, Seamus, Matt all have had their turn at the helm. Welcome to the Loelife little beans!
  8. These teens are pretty amazing. Kindred spirits, I hope, since they’ve both had a recent growth by loss experience. Sure looks like another strong couple in the making. I have to know if this though: did you deliberately write a puppy love story set in a room full of puppies? Love it!
  9. Vincent snarking TF out of the divine ones! There’s foreshadowing in the Shadows but it’s completely confusing dammit. I’m all “why does Stone do this to us” when the better question is why do I let him? Because it’s so good and this chapter is off the charts good. *Sits quietly waiting for more*
  10. “We all make mistakes… it’s what we do about them that matters…” Amen and hallelujah to that. Hope that was the takeaway for Mark though that message was imbedded in quite the dressing down from Big Mike. Beautiful message about the importance of family, forgiveness and happiness. Quite the trifecta. Love it.
  11. Reading this now I have the advantage of reading comments and responses to look for clues about the direction this is headed. Nada, zip, none give me a solid lead on Bodie’s drop-in! Surely this expansion of Nate’s storyline means he’s sticking around for a while. Right? <sigh>
  12. Nate is one strong kid. He may be drawing strength from his loving family around him but the way he laid it out for his father? Wow. Gay teen suicide, a horrible reality. Megan did the right thing. Wonder if his dad will?
  13. A difficult subject treated with great care. I feel sorrow for Nate and his pain. I feel pity more than anger for his father. This chapter feels weighty, important. Maybe it’s waking up my old teen angst a bit? Hang in there Nate! It does get better.
  14. Definitely didn’t see Nate coming! A baby and a teen? Holy plot twist!
  15. Well it’s about time! That was a beautifully crafted love scene. Plenty going on in this chapter but, wow, their first time was something special to read.
  16. Powerful, powerful prose and a proposal. Like the majority who have left comments I cried some very happy tears. As I’m reading this some seven years after it was published, shared, I’m really struck by the timeless quality of this story, their story. So incredibly beautiful!
  17. I am in total agreement about the great big exhale that this chapter allows and the beauty of their ever evolving love…but…”… man cannot live on cum alone” damn near had coffee coming out of my nose. I so love all the laughs that break the tension.
  18. We’ve gained a new character! The house!! As a total old house whore I adored this chapter! As an actual estate agent I have to say you give a grand tour. As a preservationist who sits on my city’s heritage commission I thank you for the nod to the importance of conservation and care of these irreplaceable assets. I think here, some years back, you just designed, or redesigned, the kitchen for the Victorian I’m currently rehabbing in 2022. Sharing a lot of headspace with Headstall today in two of your worlds. Love it.
  19. Goosebumps head to toe. In the early 90’s I was widowed by a slow death and I often wondered, then and now, if having time to brace for the inevitable made it easier. What I do know is that finding my Paul allowed my heart and mind to heal. I’m so deeply happy for Woodrow. Beautiful, Gary. Just beautiful.
  20. Get to the physiotherapist already! Well done, thoughtful, tender and hot as hell. I love your love scenes because they are exactly that: love scenes.
  21. There’s just no way that’s that with Candy. She seems like the whole catalog of crazy is right at her fingertips. Kudos to Kendall for being one step ahead.
  22. I’m ready to flip to Chapter 29 and thinking “this is moving so fast” as if I haven’t read 28 chapters to get here! So much darkness-ish here and still I laughed out loud more than once. Can’t put this one down.
  23. Correction: cue the explanation about pin holes in condoms. What a twist! You had my full attention, Gary. Now I’m rapt…
  24. Cue the public service announcement about condoms! Oh my…
  25. “Distorted” is such an apt description of Carson’s thinking, his logic, when he endeavored to control young Kendall. Desperate men do desperate things. Keeping the peace is clearly Michael’s super power not just his career choice. The gentle way he points at the clock and helps Kendall recognize past versus present is masterful. The future is taking a new shape as well. Love keeps winning. Nice.
