Teenagers are a lot. Teen boys are a whole lot extra. Spend some quality time getting to know a group of young friends who have a special, mature bond. Jacob is a boy worth saving. Truthfully his redemption arc is, at times, difficult to read yet every word carries its own magic. Kudos @Jeff Burton on a thoughtful, emotion-filled, rather epic story. Turn to Chapter One, dear readers. You’ll love it.

When Chapter Eight published my first thought was I think I’ve read this. When Chapter Nine published I went back to One and started all over this afternoon. A deeply beautiful story of adolescent life and love. Total bonus that it appears, like me, they’re Louisiana boys. Thank you Jeff

@Ronyx has sling-shot some of us back to the early 80’s. Gay Cancer, GRID, HTLV-type 2, eventually settling on HIV/AIDS. A terrifying and tragic time. I remember taking a suit to donate to a thrift store when I realized I had worn it to more than 50 funerals for my contemporaries. Hoping that Dwight and Phil were sero-divergent. Phil has enough to deal with.

I am usually hesitant to review a story published long-ago but there are two good reasons to add my take: @Sam Wyer is actively sharing his talent here, today, in 2024 and this weekend I fell in love with Cal. Total binge read, I couldn’t put it down. Cal is a hot mess and, remember, I absolutely love him and the characters who fill his orbit. He is hot-headed, foul-mouthed, plus rather naive and innocent when it comes to the wider world. Inexperienced is fair to say. At the same time his life-experience is far from the norm for most young men leaving their teenage years behind. No spoilers from me, just my sincere opinion that this is worthy of every single minute you spend with Cal. Bravo @Sam Wyer! Well done.
