  1. Monday's breakfast special is the Cliffhanger. Served up with an appetizer of excitement (he posted!) an entree of action and excitement sprinkled generously with worry (the fight!) and the final course is the house specialty: frustration. Delicious, yes. Satisfying, no.
  2. I sincerely hope Carson’s confession leads to some deeper reconciliation. My own father was a changed man during his battle with cancer and I saw a side of him that hadn’t seen the light of day during my youth. I’m deeply grateful for the last months we spent in a new understanding. Bit heavy for the comments section of a work of fiction but it reads like real life and I see my own very clearly in this father-son exchange. Deeply moving. Thank you. I promise I’m all smiles!
  3. Here at this somber moment I feel the need to speak to an aspect of this storytelling that I haven’t. The humor. I have laughed out loud again and again. Such a great read.
  4. Unconditional love pouring in from every direction…so far. Another reference to Kendall’s family, specifically his father. Dripping faucets make me crazy!
  5. Your own words are the best description for that bedroom scene: “…almost too erotic to bear…” A little foreshadowing about Kendall’s family? Hmm…

    Chapter 1

Jensen is the personification of ‘love is patient’. I can’t count the number of times you’ve given me goosebumps, Mrsgnomie, but today is plus one for sure. The time travel was a delight and I felt nostalgic for my Motorola flip phone! Twenty years can pass in the blink of an eye or comfortably over the course of an afternoon read.
  7. The “Moondoggie” moniker has cracked me up since Michael assigned it to Chet! This chapter correctly pins Moondoggie to Gidget and I love the reference. Way to make an old guy feel young and smile a bunch, Gary. I’m falling in love with their love. I’m also anticipating conflict with a side of miscommunication but I’d be very happy to be wrong.
  8. That Tonya Harding move Candy pulled might be just the push these two needed. At least I hope it is!
  9. Let the questioning begin! I didn’t expect Michael to be so introspective so soon. Why? We, men, are idiots by and large. I certainly wasn’t raised to be emotionally intelligent and I don’t think I’m in the minority.
  10. Unrequited love is a heavy weight to bear. For Kendall to confess it shows a strength and determined that I hope serves him well moving on. I’m both heartbroken and hooked, Headstall.
  11. That is perspective, thank you, I think. I’ll follow along without regard for your memes 🤢
  12. I finished reading this a couple days ago and wanted to sit with it before commenting. Destiny? A beautiful and believable concept. I’m so pleased the door was left open. For two men, so young, to experience love then loss then shared love is hopeful. We can never control the forces that act against us but we can control how we react to them. Thank you, Headstall, for this hopeful tale of young love and triumph over adversity. It’s deeply beautiful.
  13. Nowhere near ready? What? I will not spend energy trying to guess what happens next. I will say this line was sexy in the weirdest way: “I feel like a leaky volcano." Vincent will be triumphant. You wouldn’t kill off a third good guy would you? Good grief…
  14. “It feels like I’ve loved you forever.” That line sums it up nicely. Their future looks bright. Of course that brightness might just be from the fire in the bedroom…
  15. Well that escalated quickly and it really needed to! That bedroom scene? Tender, beautiful, hot hot hot. Love. True love. Beautiful.
  16. The heat rising between the guys is much more enjoyable than the heat from the dumpster fire that is Carly.
  17. Carly is more than a bit pathological, bless her heart. I doubt the drama ends at the kitchen table. This is a great read, Headstall!
  18. Added my comment to the wrong chapter! Moving it…
  19. “Craig’s dick thought otherwise,” Gotta pay attention to the supporting characters point of view!
  20. So very tender. The future is bright for these two, I reckon.
  21. Many reasons for Wyatt not to trust a single soul. Virgil really sees him and here’s hoping Wyatt will trust him.
  22. A truth as old as time: “I think same can see same most times.”
  23. Difficult to comment without launching into a total rant so I’ll share one of my favorite affirmations first: “Let my words be few.” I’m drawn to a string of four-letter words: love, fear, hate and vote. We will LOVE who we love. We must regard those who would attack our rights with a healthy dose of the FEAR they seek to incite without succumbing to it. We cannot respond to HATE with hate because it is corrosive and destroys from within. To my fellow citizens of the US I beseech you to VOTE. A very important anniversary indeed. Thank you, dear Author, for celebrating it. Let’s have many more.

    Chapter 2

“…Fighting against a world locked To those without keys…” I’m still stuck reading this bit of perspective over and over after sitting with the world that was shared here. I feel grateful to have visited and thankful they didn’t stay. Powerful.

    Chapter 1

In a word? Tender. A fantastic insight to the teen gay boy mind. I could feel the butterflies and I’m happy to know they’re still there. Happy to know that innocent excitement still hides inside me and you, dear Author, brought it to the surface for just a satisfying moment. I’m pleased the rest of their night is left to my imagination. In a age with so much more opportunity and ease I’ll imagine the world for them. A safe and beautiful, tender world.
