  1. I just want to say how much I’ve missed your writing. I spent the past couple of days catching up on the story so far. Once again, you show your skill at patiently unveiling your story and developing your key players. If these developments between Kyan and Perry had gone much faster, it just could not have ended well. This dynamic has shifted and feelings deepened over years. Many thanks. Oh. And not your fault. But when I think of Perry undergoing a transformation I can’t help but picturing our co-lead character a little different than you’ve described him. Before the club: At the club: After the Club: This chapter:

    Chapter 21

No. This is years after Running. In Running he’s getting his BS. Now he’s working towards a masters. This takes place after Embers. Trevor especially grows so much here. What he’s learned since Running has helped, but this journey sets him up to be a much more powerful and 3-Dimensional character.
  3. A wonderful continuation of the “Running With the Pack” series. While you certainly can read it first, it would be far more impactful to start with the first story. Trevor — a self-proclaimed man whore with the ladies — packs about as much personal growth as you could possibly expect in one summer internship, and not just with sexual horizons. He quickly develops from one of the least-interesting characters in the “pack” series to one of the most compelling. With each new story of his saga, @WolfM builds on the world and themes of the whole, told through compelling, relatable characters with action, humor, lust and love. Oh, and I can’t forget the intricately detailed depictions of interesting places found along the way Personally, I think this is one of the strongest entries in the series. Hated to see it end. Looking forward to catching up with these guys again.

@kbois Many prayers and much love. Sorry the real world is giving you grief.

Maybe Cassidy IS a secret McKinney. Or unknowingly a McKinney love child. 😉

So, @raven1, imagine my state of mind. Trevor Carlson has just narrowly made it from Australia to Gitmo with the loves of his life: Atlantis and Seth. I start reading again and he’s suddenly in MIT, just back from Australia, flirting with a hot woman, and he’s lycan. Yeah. Messed with me for a minute. 🤣 Course, if he hadn’t forgotten he was lycan, Trevor could have just ripped out Bridget’s throat.

It’s not a quick read, and it could use some tightening, but I think it’s well worth it. The author literally spent years posting it, and clearly knows a lot about sailing and learned a lot about geography. Like Embers, Australia is more than a setting, it’s a main character.

Ok. I happened to be reading Circumnavigation when @WolfM started posting this story. I had to wait for a bit to pick up this one. It was messing with my mind having two Trevor Carlsons to keep up with. (I had totally forgotten this Trevor’s last name from the earlier Pack stories)
  9. Intrigued to see what’s changed. From what I gather, your first updated version was quite a substantial rewrite. That’s the version I’m familiar with, and I can’t say I remember much worth quibbling with. Drat. Guess I’ll have to read it again.

    Revelation

I’m not sure if you’re reading comments these days, but I have to disagree. You were telling a spider web of a story here. As things stand, Trev fell for Shane (and admitted it) In just a couple of weeks. Realistic. Not sure you could have rushed that more. And the character work with Shane is the whole reason I’m re-reading right now. Also, if you’d rushed things too much after they fell in love the events of the Rachel revelation wouldn’t have had as much depth and impact. If you were to ever to revisit your text for some reason, I’d look at trimming George and Bridgett and maybe Gonzalez & Henry or the reporters. The stuff with Dirk and Jim is mostly important, as is Lisa and Joel, though I think it took far too long for those two to hop on the clue bus. Yet, they are teens playing Scooby Doo, so…..

    Revelations

I also sense a Disney parallel here. Bridgett being The Sea Witch in Circumnavigation. Now Jerry/Scar. If the pattern were perfect, Hades would be the next villain. Followed by Yzma. But I’m quite sure I’d be reading too much into what I’m reading. 😉

    To Catch a Thief

Another well-written chapter. Gives us, obviously, more reasons to care about Gideon, but I’m really growing to love Aykut. Must be an interesting back story to why a wolf partners up with vamps, and he and Kavan play well off of each other. I’d like to get to know Van better. I’m enjoying many of the theories in the comments. I’m In the group that thinks Gideon knows — or at least strongly suspects — Kavan is near. Much how he seemed to see right to where Kavan was hiding at a couple of points leading to and in the pit. The “Even my apprentice” taunts were spoken knowing Kavan could hear. That kind of insight could only have grown stronger now that their “blood song” bond is nearing its peak. Kavan’s sudden deep and sympathetic bursts of emotions towards Gideon can’t be one-sided. As much as I am eager for more, I encourage @Aditus to keep working at his own pace. The quality of overall writing, pacing, place making and characterization keeps growing stronger as the series progresses.

Okay. I friggin love the growth in post-Embers Brandon. Smart. Witty. Sexy. Loyal. Good-hearted. I love how he explains he knows a lot of people, but has few friends. I relate to that. I know Trevor’s only there for a couple of (eventful) days, but I hope Brandon plays a larger-than- expected role moving forward. The characters play off each other beautifully, and it seems both of them appreciate and need the friendship. Also love retconning Brandon’s surrogate dad to being the alpha, and them having a close, warm and nuanced relationship. Trevor was always your “spare” character in the series. Didn’t really stand out in a crowd of memorable characters. Glad he’s finally found his voice, too.
  16. It strikes me how each occupation dovetails into the other. David tears things down to rubble to clear a new beginning. TC picks up pieces of ruin to see what can be saved. Sinclair forges foundations by building up strength of body, mind and character. All three require precision, rely on proficiency and relish a bit of panache.

    Chapter 7

My uncle Chuck was one of them. The freighter Summit Venture struck one of the main supporting piers of the span right at morning rush hour. My grandmother was never the same.
  18. That’s great. Please. Keep leaping. 🙂”Spirit” was the first real shifter story I read and enjoyed. I feared I’d find the genre silly, due to past experiences with bad writing and a Twilight movie or two. I had enjoyed one vampire story before (well. It’s still ongoing) so I took a chance. My only real self limits on reading go to the truly violent, gory and horrific. Same limits on Movies and fictional tv. My work exposes me daily to real-life horror stories. I don’t want to add any more negative imagery in my head. The violence is why BDSM was a risk for me. Too many are like Sin’s bad pseudo-Dom.
  19. Ok, while not being quite as trusting or dedicated as Sin, I set aside numerous personal reservations about the BDSM subject matter and gave this 2-part story a shot. I almost didn’t try. But I kept faith you’d keep centering on the hearts of flawed, but well-intended lead characters who need to grow. My faith was tested in early passages of “Raising,” but you telegraphed just enough to know I’d be rewarded if I didn’t stop. Having “met” your work through “Spirit Wolves,” it’s really interesting to now be working up from your earliest stuff and seeing how your style evolves. “Lex” surely wasn’t training wheels subject matter and remains a solidly told story, but goodness how you keep growing. Many thanks for sharing your talent.
  20. To be honest, that’s a big reason I’ve found myself engaging with this site since I stumbled on it a few months ago. I’ve been exposed to the works of really creative minds without the brutal negativity that surrounds so much of the internet. I’ve read and enjoyed stories by all three of you ( @Mrsgnomie, @kbois, and @astone2292) and can’t wait to read more. Each of you has a unique voice. That’s no mean feat for anyone penning prose. I’d be wasting my time and your talent If I harped on typos, the occasional grammatical misstep, or a punctuation faux pax. (And — yes — I am an Oxford comma kinda guy). Each of you has made me care about characters who are really just so many pixels spilled together. That’s power. Thanks and keep up the hard work.
  21. The game show premise is funny for my peculiar sense of humor. I work in tv. Since @astone2292 wrote the first Lowe babysitting scene an announcer voice in my head (sounding like Gary Owens) called out: “It’s the Alpa and Vinsey show. With Alpa…..and Vinsey. With special guests G-man and Shotgun.” Yeah. I know. My mind is downright weird sometimes.
  22. @C Jamesbecause of your story I will never allow a garlic crusher anywhere near my home or person. The black cat early on being, by far, an omen of good luck, comparatively speaking.

    The Cat Burglar

Better to get it right than rushed. I’m eager to keep reading, too. But I’d much rather wait until you are happy with the work. Especially after how good the last few chapters have turned out.
  24. An Action-packet, yet heart-felt middle story to the “In the Shadows” saga. Part two sees Vincent learning crucial new insight to his skills and his fated opponent, while also shifting (pun intended) focus to the growing relationship between his good friends: the new Alpha of New York & Tierney’s passionately intelligent Beta. Cyrus and Kaplan both grow so much here, individually and as a couple. This intriguing circle of brotherhood also grows in numbers and strength as consequences mount. Highly recommended. But truly you must read “Love in the Shadows” first.
  25. I understand why. Cyrus and Cyn have, perhaps the most unique mental perspectives of your characters to date, along with the PTSD survivor from Primal Park.
