Also, I’m really proud of Gretchen. She is absolutely what Shaun needs. A friend who will call him out on his shit and pick him up when he breaks…because he’s going to break. She’s going to save both of them. Not as a third wheel mind you. Her experience is going to show them how to adult with each other and be successful at it. Frankly, she’s probably the sanest one of them. Ben isn’t bc he’s going through with the cock blocking sister bitch and frankly it feels like he’s never been alone. Oh and I do have to agree, he’s not whipped if he ain’t getting any.

Chapter 70 - "Reaching For The Truth"
SilentandBroken commented on Comicality's story chapter in Chapter 70 - "Reaching For The Truth"
Wholeheartedly agree -
I worry a lot about Shaun’s temper to the point of no return and he’s going to snap. He’s either going to take his anger out on Ruth or Jesse or God forbid, one of the kids.

I sense a storm brewing between Shaun and Jesse. Obviously there’s more than one conversation topic they need to address. I’d start with addressing Shaun’s antiquated view who who wears the pants in the relationship. At least if it gets heated Jesse can shut it down with Brian news. Either way they could break up due to Shaun’s petulant attitude. It was REALLY getting old quick while they were in Houston. So was his chauvinist mentality with the band. Sure it’s “his” band in that he’s the front man BUT if they (the band) doesn’t agree together on the vision, it’s gonna be short lived regardless how well they play together. There is waaay more to being in a band that Shaun’s view and both Gretchen and Harry tried to give him unsolicited advice that Shaun desperately needs. Unfortunately, his stubbornness prevented him from learning from those opportunities. Even Jesse with his limited mostly unbiased assessment didn’t survive. Shaun’s moods are going to kill the band quickly. Jesse is absolutely right about side income. Of course it fell on deaf ears. Ben and Gretchen getting in the sack will be another issue

My sentiments exactly. However, I’m not assuming they didn’t do the dirty.

You’re most welcome

Let’s try this to the correct story (Smdh just ignore me 🤪) I worry too about the news notification regarding deaths due to drugs a few days before. Plus what Kyle said that his brother is cutting a new blend…

Thank you all for the credit but my recommendation was merely flippant my view. I didn’t expect @mastershakeme to run with it. The credit goes to them. I loved it. “ “I love you,” Colt said, like it was nothing, like it was just another thing you say on a Tuesday morning while walking to school. But his eyes were serious and his hand tightened around Noah’s. “I love you too,” Noah said. And he meant it in a way that had nothing to do with cages or escape plans or desperation. He meant it the way people were supposed to mean it. Freely, without conditions, without an agenda. Just love. Simple and clean and his.” This section had my teary eyes because it is absolutely spot on and perfect. All I could think was, @mastershakemegets it from someone who’s been under an abuser’s thumb and more. It’s the little things that make the greatest difference. Thank you for this story and a happy ending.

Absolutely 💯 agree with you about that.

I have to agree here and frankly I’ve also been impressed with the sheriff’s son since Colt spoke up.

I’m just happy Noah is finally safe. George will get his. One way or another. Nicely written.

I fucking knew it! The little dude is Jesse’s. Although I think he might be a bit advanced in his communication and cognitive abilities for a typical 3yo. I’d say closer to 6 maybe but I get the feeling advancing his age complicates the story timeline. Also, given how well Shaun manages his emotions (not) I’m sure the big news is going to completely wreck their relationship for a few weeks at the very least

Either earlier this chapter or the last, Jesse asked Sam if he cared that Kyle js gay or not? Sam said no. So he’s already aware. Nobody I don’t think, is truly putting it together about Kyle’s father however.

I also really dislike rimming but I get it. It’s just not sanitary enough for my tastes (literally!). That said, I can look past it in this story. However, Shaun’s cutting fascination seems to be growing stronger and frankly it has me extremely nervous. He’s not THAT adept with a blade. He didn’t intend to go so deep when he got himself in the stomach and frankly, he got lucky there. If he had perforated his large intestinal tract he’d be looking at sepsis and that’s some bad juju. It was mentioned that Jesse might be finally taming Shaun. Eh perhaps a bit, but when you consider this whole cutting habit, I say no way. It doesn’t seem to me that Jesse realizes he still does it. I was so worried he was going to wake up while Shaun was mid stab or slice. Things would’ve really gotten interesting then. Speaking of the cutting, it’s obvious Eli is aware but not of how bad Shaun is doing it. He must be blind.

Great chapter. The sex was hot and realist. They really do pair well together. Also, I think Gretchen and Shaun also work well in an antagonistic sort of way. They will push each other to be better. That creates originality. Love that too. Others above make great points as well. Also, it should be noted how artfully Jesse handled Shaun at the news drop of seeing Kyle again.
-
The nerve of Kyle trying to essentially seduce Sam and blatantly ignore both Jesse and Shaun. And then, trying to blackmail Jesse and Shaun because of what Shane did to Kenny! Jesse was right. He IS a snake. Monica is being an idiot to not accept the offer of daycare from Ruth. But Ruth’s uppity attitude is just as ridiculous.

I’m on the fence with Pam. It may be that George runs a strict house and keeps her under his thumb but by doing so, is able to hide his real activities with Noah. By keeping that from Pam, it’s one less chance of a person to squeal on him. It’s still emotional abuse.
-
I agree. I don’t think Noah felt any way out. The constant anxiety from the abuse ..sigh..Colt was his means to an end he couldn’t do himself. Suicidal ideation is a real thing with abused kids. The tip off for me whenever Noah got cold and calculated. That’s how he’s able to essentially fantasize about it without getting emotional. It’s his defense mechanism. He’s made up his mind. Nothing will change it. I don’t know if it it was Noah or not on the other end of that text. That msg was cold and calculated as well. Frankly, I think there wasn’t any fishing planned at all at that cabin. I think George just takes Noah out to have his way with him the whole time without anyone to interrupt them.

Yes I’m being impatiently petulant 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Agreed
