Yep. I’m further convinced, although not entirely, daddy dearest is just as cold and manipulative. The trip did Jason a lot of good. I’m also glad to see that Sadie will fit in very well with Lexi.
-
Ok wtf. First of all, it’s bad enough to send your child off and not tell their sibling about them until they’re an adult. It’s even worse that they split twins up. I have twins 3 pairs actually in my Large family. I love watching them all interact . It’s great to see how close they are. To do this..cruel doesn’t even begin to appropriately describe it. Then let’s not ignore the fact the poor girl was born deaf. That doesn’t make her stupid. If anything, it makes her even smarter. Now I’m wondering if it wasn’t their mother’s call so much as it was their father to separate them. Could he be even more cruel and selfish than their mother? It isn’t like they weren’t able to raise the girl. In my family history there were records of having to give children up (this was in the 1800s) because they couldn’t afford to raise them. I’m angry and sad at the same time. Also, Lexi is turning out to be a great friend.

I agree on all of this. I can’t really add much to it. Hopefully Jason isn’t too consumed with the information in that envelope that the trip is more of the same stress with a new location. That said, kudos to Adam exercising patience with Jason recognizing his needs and putting them over his own. The fact heat out told Jason he’d take him to find her and scrap the coast plans says a lot. As for Jason’s mother, I’m not really surprised but I am more disgusted that she is using the news of this sister to manipulate Jason. That’s pretty low in my book.
-
Ok that was hot. Also, Adam is a bit spontaneous…I think it’s sexy. But he’s also a bit too carefree. His lack of maturity towards employment is a concern. Perhaps both boys can learn from each other. Jason is a bit uptight and could benefit from some of Adam’s lackadaisical attitude. Adam, could benefit from Jason’s maturity. Let’s hope the night terrors stay away tonight. However I have the feel they won’t.

Eh. She’s honest without much of a filter or tact.

Perhaps you should read it yourself…. It’s been long enough now it’d almost be a fresh read… maybe
-
Ok Jason you’re not a complete idiot. You played with it smart with Lexi. Even smarter with Tania. Both girls seem very perceptive of their environment, meaning Jason and his mother and Adam. The advice they gave Jason was good and he was smart to listen
-
Ok omg Adam is…quickly working his way past Jason’s defenses and sure Jason is barely trying but I can’t blame him. For both that is, putting up some defenses and failing miserably and maintaining them. Adam, for his part, is a guy who definitely knows what he wants and gets after it with no preamble or anything. Sigh..I just hope Jason doesn’t have a night terror overnight.
-
Ok I don’t remember reading this story before..yet parts are familiar..maybe it’s because Jason’s mother is incessant like mine when she’s got the mind to. Idk. Maybe that’s why i skipped it before. Idk. Sigh. Adam is cheeky. Cute. I like that. Jason needs to be more receptive to him. The rest though, as he said, can fuck off. i like both boys so far. I’m on to the next chapter

Chapter 176 Stepping Up to the Plate
SilentandBroken commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 176 Stepping Up to the Plate
It would be. Robbie is in a very psychologically fragile and dangerous position. An orphaned gay teen who’s been bullied and has enough toxic personalities around him from multiple fronts to fill a basketball team. He basically has no one. -
Chapter 176 Stepping Up to the Plate

I agree Rory is not 100% at fault here because Robbie has plenty of blame as well for sure. I think Rory has some blame being a bit of a tease as you said. I think Robbie would shine with someone like Rory. Rory, for his part, needs to decide what side of the fence he’s on. Sure, he’s dabbled with girls. But the vibe I get from him is that he’s less than satisfied. He also comes off as very hesitant to consider batting for the other team. Curious but hesitant. If memory serves, the casual nudity both boys shared we saw last chapter I think was as far as he’s dared to go so far. Whether he’s hesitant because he’s undecided or scared to go further is unclear to me. Frankly, if and when the “make up” conversation happens between them, Robbie just needs to grab the boy by the neck and kiss him deeply. Not out of lust, but frustration and love. Because let’s face it, Robbie is definitely frustrated and he realizes that much. What I don’t think he does realize however is how much Rory means to him. I think the absence of Rory during the however long time it takes for them to come to talking again takes, it will be utter torture to Robbie. That’s where I worry about Robbie’s mental state. He will blame himself completely and the last thing he needs is someone like Don or even Nathan making things worse. There is nothing worse than that feeling of abandonment from someone you feel you love more than anything and even more so feeling like YOU caused it. Yeah I’ve been there and believe me, it wasn’t pretty. I would hate to see Robbie spiral into a deep depression and I think this whole thing has the making of a perfect storm for it to happen. Deep down I think because Rory has always been affirming and supportive of Robbie, hopefully Robbie will realize just how much he does care for Rory and I think the separation hopefully will show the same for Rory too. What worries me most however, is that Rory has enough self respect that he won’t even consider forgiving Robbie’s behavior no matter how justified it comes across from our vantage point as readers from Robbie’s perspective. It’s easy for us to forget the boys are still both young enough to have a less than adult control on their emotions in some aspects even though Rory has always seemed very mature which he is for his age. -
Chapter 176 Stepping Up to the Plate

I made another comment afterwards I guess didn’t post bc I don’t see it but anyway, here goes. Robbie has obviously been both been triggered by the continued bullying as well as his unrealized jealousy of Rory’s apparent new lady friend. Rory, for his part doesn’t see Robbie’s struggle here and is totally blindsided by Robbie’s comment and was very hurt by it. I worry now it is too late and too hurtful of a comment for Rory to forgive him. I also wonder if the girl he was talking too wasn’t one he was romantically interested in. Robbie didn’t hear what was said between them . 😔 -
