Thank you all for the credit but my recommendation was merely flippant my view. I didn’t expect @mastershakeme to run with it. The credit goes to them. I loved it. “ “I love you,” Colt said, like it was nothing, like it was just another thing you say on a Tuesday morning while walking to school. But his eyes were serious and his hand tightened around Noah’s. “I love you too,” Noah said. And he meant it in a way that had nothing to do with cages or escape plans or desperation. He meant it the way people were supposed to mean it. Freely, without conditions, without an agenda. Just love. Simple and clean and his.” This section had my teary eyes because it is absolutely spot on and perfect. All I could think was, @mastershakemegets it from someone who’s been under an abuser’s thumb and more. It’s the little things that make the greatest difference. Thank you for this story and a happy ending.

Omg that’s what i get for reading two from the same author at the same time 😂 I’m a ln idiot🤦🏻♂️

I worry too about the news notification regarding deaths due to drugs a few days before. Plus what Kyle said that his brother is cutting a new blend…
-
Absolutely 💯 agree with you about that.
-
I have to agree here and frankly I’ve also been impressed with the sheriff’s son since Colt spoke up.

I’m just happy Noah is finally safe. George will get his. One way or another. Nicely written.

I fucking knew it! The little dude is Jesse’s. Although I think he might be a bit advanced in his communication and cognitive abilities for a typical 3yo. I’d say closer to 6 maybe but I get the feeling advancing his age complicates the story timeline. Also, given how well Shaun manages his emotions (not) I’m sure the big news is going to completely wreck their relationship for a few weeks at the very least
-
Either earlier this chapter or the last, Jesse asked Sam if he cared that Kyle js gay or not? Sam said no. So he’s already aware. Nobody I don’t think, is truly putting it together about Kyle’s father however.

I also really dislike rimming but I get it. It’s just not sanitary enough for my tastes (literally!). That said, I can look past it in this story. However, Shaun’s cutting fascination seems to be growing stronger and frankly it has me extremely nervous. He’s not THAT adept with a blade. He didn’t intend to go so deep when he got himself in the stomach and frankly, he got lucky there. If he had perforated his large intestinal tract he’d be looking at sepsis and that’s some bad juju. It was mentioned that Jesse might be finally taming Shaun. Eh perhaps a bit, but when you consider this whole cutting habit, I say no way. It doesn’t seem to me that Jesse realizes he still does it. I was so worried he was going to wake up while Shaun was mid stab or slice. Things would’ve really gotten interesting then. Speaking of the cutting, it’s obvious Eli is aware but not of how bad Shaun is doing it. He must be blind.

Great chapter. The sex was hot and realist. They really do pair well together. Also, I think Gretchen and Shaun also work well in an antagonistic sort of way. They will push each other to be better. That creates originality. Love that too. Others above make great points as well. Also, it should be noted how artfully Jesse handled Shaun at the news drop of seeing Kyle again.
-
The nerve of Kyle trying to essentially seduce Sam and blatantly ignore both Jesse and Shaun. And then, trying to blackmail Jesse and Shaun because of what Shane did to Kenny! Jesse was right. He IS a snake. Monica is being an idiot to not accept the offer of daycare from Ruth. But Ruth’s uppity attitude is just as ridiculous.

I’m on the fence with Pam. It may be that George runs a strict house and keeps her under his thumb but by doing so, is able to hide his real activities with Noah. By keeping that from Pam, it’s one less chance of a person to squeal on him. It’s still emotional abuse.
-
I agree. I don’t think Noah felt any way out. The constant anxiety from the abuse ..sigh..Colt was his means to an end he couldn’t do himself. Suicidal ideation is a real thing with abused kids. The tip off for me whenever Noah got cold and calculated. That’s how he’s able to essentially fantasize about it without getting emotional. It’s his defense mechanism. He’s made up his mind. Nothing will change it. I don’t know if it it was Noah or not on the other end of that text. That msg was cold and calculated as well. Frankly, I think there wasn’t any fishing planned at all at that cabin. I think George just takes Noah out to have his way with him the whole time without anyone to interrupt them.

Yes I’m being impatiently petulant 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Agreed

Anton’s pics of Jesse and Brian above

I also like the pics. Damn close to what I imagine.

I know i commented on this once but I don’t see it here so I’ll repost what I remember. yes this exactly. I think Brian is Jesse’s. My question is who is the mother? Where is she? It’s odd that have moved so much.More than you’d expect for just Monica’s failed relationships. It’s like they’re running. It’s also odd that Jesse says Brian comes with him like he’d expect not to have any issues doing that from his mother. I like Ben. His praise is exactly what Shaun needs. Same with Miss Stevens. What scares me is Shaun’s cutting and desire to cut Jesse. That kid needs some serious therapy.
-
First off yes Shaun is right. Jesse is an idiot.. an idiot in love. You don’t make the wise. Speaking of idiots, let’s talk about Monica. Dafuq?! She’s a fucking nurse. She should know better than to let someone with an immediate concussion not to let the drift off to sleep.yes on, I agree Jesse didn’t get his ass beat too badly but X-rays should have been done especially on the ribs and maybe a CT Scan of his head to check for internal bleeds. 5 against 1 ..sigh. Jesse got extremely lucky. Thirdly, Shaun taking the rifle to get vengeance was a definite escalation. That could’ve also gone extremely south. IF the parents press charges that’s a felony. Rant over. The lovemaking however is great. I do love that sensual approaches Shaun takes with Jesse. I do not like the coach. He fucking knows who was there. I’m hoping Miss Stevens’s “short term memory loss” comes back to her after a few hrs of time and turns Kenny and Eric in. The Principle is a joke. A tight ship? Whatever.

We can only hope at this point the brakes hold up and then Colt gets the nerve to talk to someone

As well as the clothes that had brake fluid on theme

I mentioned this possibility last chapter. I feel for Colt. He’s in a nearly impossible position. Noah’s logic that the Sheriff can’t and won’t do anything is obviously flawed. Colt needs to realize that if he truly loves Noah as much as we know he does, he speaks up anyway and does not go through with the plan. Right now he hasn’t considered that George might take Noah with him. The sheriff who is the only one with the authority to stop George. Noah doesn’t understand that every complaint of child sexual abuse must be investigated immediately. Sure, the chance that George takes Noah with him and they catch him at the lake in the act IS a possibility, but does anyone know where the cabin is besides George? We don’t know. Colt needs to risk losing Noah for not going through the plan. There is also nothing indicating that Noah has thought it either. I suppose it is possible that Noah may have a backup plan and take matters into his own hands and defend himself in the house or cabin against George. He may not feel he will succeed against George if he does try to defend himself.

As far as the chapter goes, there’s a lot to take away. Shaun has …albeit somewhat unwillingly, seemed more accepting of Jesse’s advances. Or I should say, his walls of resistance keep crumbling. It’s but altogether it’s nice to see at least some support from Shaun’s grandfather and at least one bandmate, even if the other members don’t.
-
I can’t say I’m too comfortable with Shaun’s fantasy of hurting Jesse physically during their trysts but I know it’s just not my thing. I will continue reading unless it gets worse.
