Callum needs to think and study carefully what will be done to him. He will have to wise up and just protest enough and play along and let them think he slowly realizes the trids tricked him. He could be a model student and parrot back the lies he was being told, He is a medic and must be needed on the front lines as soon as possible. Callum is so lost and out of his depth. Rym, his much larger and older captor, knows the area and is much stronger and wiser in the ways of living outdoors. It seems Callum continues to not be able to eascape and is being taken to someone who can question him and read his mind. I wonder how skillfully his mind can be read? Rym does not mention torture which Callum's people use on their enemy. Plus what value he will have to the enemy? Will he be eventually imprisoned or killed? Callum saw how the enemy was tortured by his command so he does not expect to be treated well when the military gets ahold of him.
