Karl will make an entrance at some point. Right now I haven’t thought too far ahead. Although drafts are done through chapter 5. There is a place I can get him in sooner. We’ll see.

Carlo Marini majored in pre-med, went on to medical school and became a psychiatrist. His specialty was child psychiatry, but he accepted adult LGBTQIA+ patients as well. He and his high school boyfriend Brandon Gordon had wed, fostered, then adopted two children who came from broken homes and were ostracized by their parents for performing homosexual experimentation. Very Early Saturday Morning I woke up screaming again. This is the fourth straight night, I've done that. Brandon was looking at me with fear in his eyes and concern on his face. This is a continuation, roughly fourteen years later, of my previous story, 'My Friend and Protector' (https://gayauthors.org/story/lee-wilson/my-friend-and-protector/). Carlo no longer needs Karl as his protector, but as a result of something related to his psychiatric practice, he needs his husband Brandon more than ever. I don't believe needing to read that first is a requirement to enjoy this one.

Therapy is also a doorway which opens to a better, more balanced life. I never went quite as far as taking pills or anything, but I had my own brush with thoughts of suicide. I’m happy neither of us succeeded. I’m happy to have gotten to know you even a little bit.

As it seems with everything else of yours I’ve read, this is a very emotional tale. Well done, and I for one did not expect the ending to be what it is.

A truly touching story that leaves one wanting more. The good news is, there is indeed more. I entered the ‘Boot’ series late in the game. I’m very happy I came back to the beginning. You will be too, if you haven’t yet been exposed to it. Fair warning, you’ll want to heed @Mancunian’s tissue warnings.

Poor Christian. First his mother gets sick, his friend and lover abandons him, mom dies, and Simon comes back begging. I too have had my share of Simons. The fact that they were both in-laws made it harder to cut them off. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

True. Unfortunately, those who really perpetrate those crimes can’t be dealt with in the way we can in stories. I’m pretty sure I’m pretty harsh with them. Hmmmm, maybe I should run for congress and sponsor a bill that gives them what they deserve for real. -
It’s amazing that so many people seem to have allergies related to happy occurrences. I count myself among those. Of course, young John was probably the only one who didn’t see what was coming. But it was still well done.

It makes one question just how aware comatose people are. The train of thought is an interesting perspective. Completely different topic, but I did one of those many years ago. I included it in a nifty story that probably wouldn't fly on GA. Well done.
