  1. I like Olive Garden. Love the Zuppa Toscana. I just think Carrabba’s is better. Almost exactly. Just not ‘String Theory.’ Indeed. I know I’m only funny once in a while. I keep trying though.
  2. That’s probably a good thing. Not letting the future happenings affect the edit. 6 has its ups and downs, but they’re mild.
  3. Apparently I’m too predictable. But, I’ll keep you in suspense for maybe 5 or 6 days. I’ll be looking forward to your reaction after chapter 7.
  4. Jason will be fine. You’re right about Bart. A little more on him in chapter 6.
  5. Brandon left for the funeral home after an early lunch with us. The next day was Thanksgiving. I couldn’t see much other than the remaining family to be thankful for. The weather was extremely nice for late November, so I took the kids for a walk on the beach. While walking along the water, we talked about what to do for dinner tomorrow. I knew I wasn't up to cooking a big meal, if Brandon's Dad even had the food at home. I sent Brand a text to see if anybody came down with Mason. He said yes, h
  6. Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. With this one I had to do the Happily Ever After. I end too many stories with one or two low spots.
  7. Thanks, and yes, here comes the wedding.
  8. Yep, they needed a break from the hassles.
  9. Definitely. Like the commercial said. Priceless, but no sarcasm.
  10. Which parts Bill W and Zuri improved too
  11. No, this is the same story, enhanced.
  12. And that’s true for most of the different disciplines under the “engineering” umbrella. Nobody would want a Civil Engineer to design the circuitry for a medical device. Named similar, completely different. Just like your case.
  13. Wanted to handle this one separately. The idea of faith was the impetus to writing this. Yeah, it’s not a strong hold in this story, really just the two points; post funeral and the closing paragraph. Loose connection to the Anthology topic.
  14. Life sometimes sucks so badly….
  15. Mechanical and architectural drawing can lead to multiple disciplines in engineering. Civil Engineering, Industrial, Mechanical, Structural, etc. Software engineering is where Richard ended up, even with an Electrical Engineering degree. I guess I could have added that tidbit. Nice suggestion.
  16. She'd kissed her husband Richard goodbye as he left on a business trip a few hours ago. Richard had been a software engineer for sixteen years. He was a good worker and respected by his peers and management. Trips to train their customers were often requested by the company. It was one such trip he was taking. Tina was just getting back from their elementary school after taking the three kids to the book fair. The two oldest attended school there. All three of them liked reading to different deg
  17. Initially written for the "Leap of Faith" Anthology, a couple readers made some suggestions to make the story better. It has more dialog and more depth to the characters. Hopefully if you enjoyed the previous version, you'll like this one as well.
  18. How does a man deal with the death of his wife and picking up the pieces? Sometimes not well. This is an updated version based on some user input. Hopefully it reads a little better.
  19. Thanks for the feedback. Let's see, have I done the hassles at a funeral before? Yeah, maybe this one won't be troublesome. I guess we'll have to wait and see. (Well, @Zuri may already know.)
  20. Some gifts come with mixed emotions.
  21. It's tough to let them go, I think a lot of us are old enough to have gone through the loss of a parent. My story is similar. Mom was in the hospital for a week or so, was fading fast. On the last day, I was there with her, held her hand and said we'd be OK, she can let go. A little while later, she did.
  22. I have no real preference between microsoft and apple. I have an iPhone purely for the reason when I got my current hearing aids, they were able to pair with Apple products. I use windows and word because I've used them since windows 3.1.
  23. They are pretty much the #1 tablet here in the US.
