Adoption!!! Well, I assumed that was going to happen but didn't want to speculate...just, let it come! We have already known that mother is piece of sh... work, but siblings!!! Ok, I can understand sisters don't like Pete being gay but hate him?! How can people so easily forget all good and care he did for them? Does being gay is all that he is now? Ugh...I guess it is a million-dollar question...🤪

Since the beginning of the story, we've been discussing how mature, brave, honest...guy Pete is! Just in this chapter, word 'hero' has been mentioned a few times. What impressed me now is his self-respect. It is so difficult to be man of principles and sustain from running back to bastard we still have feelings for. There are so many stories where victims are repeatedly forgiving and stay hurt again. For so young age, for somebody first time in love it is incredible. Pete is like and old soul in a boy's body! As for Mitch...he is digging, digging, digging... How could he so underestimate Pete?! Did he really think that playing dumb would be successful? 🙄

Unfortunately, there is no Roger's POV to see the roots of his homophobic behavior. I don't think it's his religious views or society influence. I still think problem is deeply personal - feeling of betrayal, family destruction and mother hurt (not trying to play Sigmund Freud here, but we all know about mother/son connection) ... So, we'll see, with the help from new friends, maybe there is some chance for reconciliation...

Unfortunately, I believe Mitch is just incurable immature! This attack on the sport field in order to turn the tables and blame the actual victim is stupid and infantile, but I believe his concern about Pete's wounds was sincere. He is not a monster, just a weak boy and coward, and you are right - who need such a friend?

I think Bobby, as most of the guys, is aware how good man and friend Pete is, so, despite knowing Mitch for so long, he feels obligated to be honest with Pete. Actually, Mitch didn't lose 'just' boyfriend, he loses friend(s) too, but he is yet not aware of damage he has made.

Pete's destiny is to learn all his life lessons the hard way! Mitch not being what we (and Pete) thought he is, is one thing but, Pete being lying, cheating, selfish brat is more than I expected. Forsing injured boyfriend with stitches to have anal sex...no, no to have sex but to be fu*ked and then, when his hormones are not satisfied, ghosting the same boyfriend... OMG, I shouldn't be surprised Mitch has deceived Pete, he certainly deceived me!
