-- Chapter 25 -- The days that followed were some of the hardest Levi had faced since arriving in Thompsonville. At school, the rumours ran hot. Whispers followed him in the corridors and around the playgrounds. Smirks. The occasional outright laugh. Word had spread that Levi had been at the party the night the Commodore was stolen and wrecked. Everybody automatically assumed that it had been him who had taken his father’s car and subsequently wrecked it. It was the other rumours t

Got an email from him a couple of days ago. I don't think he has been very well (flu). Hope he's OK.

-- Chapter 24 -- The drive out to the accident site in Luke’s car, following Constable Leggatt, was largely spent travelling in silence. The morning light was crisp and clear, making everything feel oddly distant to Levi’s own feelings. When they reached the town boundary and the sharp bend on Three Bridges Road just past it, Levi’s breath caught in his throat. The Commodore was still there – but it was no longer just wrecked. Overnight, someone had returned and torched it. The onc

Oh, wow @JimP thank you. And thanks for sharing my little side project. It probably isn't related to this story, but still, I hope folks like it. It may even get a follow up. 😀

Okay... I'll give this much away... my own assumption was that Levi, still buzzing, walked home and didn't recall it. It's really not that far from Beachside Lane in the grand scheme of things. There. I've said it. 🙂 But as for the rest . . . . .

-- Chapter 23 -- Friday morning arrived with a nervous energy Levi couldn’t shake. It had been a restless night, and with something set to happen tonight, which he still didn’t know the details of, he just knew that it was going to be a restless day as well. At breakfast, Matt and Luke confirmed their plans for the evening. ‘We’ve got that work function in Macquarie Harbour for Luke’s job,’ Matt said, sipping his coffee. ‘We’ll probably be back late. Tim and Guy are heading out som

-- Chapter 22 -- On the surface, life was beginning to look like it was settling down for Levi. His driving lessons were continuing. His relationship with Brooke was deepening, as was his friendship with Jimmy and Dan. Underneath, however, he was stepping onto a dangerous new path . . . only he didn’t know yet just how dangerous it might be. It didn’t begin at once. A few comments in passing between Levi and Casey when the chance arose, soon became conversations after school – but only
