-- Chapter Twenty -- Before we knew it, the night of Trinity de la Creme and the Sisters of Divine Disgrace finally arrived in Macquarie Harbour, and of course everything went to hell! One of the performers was running forty minutes late, stuck in traffic on the highway. What was even worse, the missing performer was also bringing the main trunk with half the show’s costumes and props. Panic levels were rising fast. Backstage was pure chaos. Feathers, sequins, and stressed-out que

I was in my teens, and Dad and I used to piss ourselves laughing, while Mum (a very straight Catholic) would be disgusted! There was also Benny Hill and Dick Emery ... Benny was OK, but I wasn't a fan of Dick ... or at least that Dick! LOL

So, when I went searching for it, the next thing that came up was this..... Man, I use to love Dave Allen! hahah

Aaahhh the memories... She said, "No way, I'm hangin round till Gum leaves. Besides, I don't wanna leave Jack around a party on his own Have you seen him? I think he's trying to crack on to Wumba; he's already tried to mount Isa And he'll definitely try to lead you astray, Liana!" 'Australiana' lyrics by Austen Tayshus (1983) 🤣🤣🤣

-- Chapter Nineteen -- And so, the strange adventure that 2020 had become, just kept getting stranger. But for the first time in months, it felt like we were all finally rolling along with it. Leo and Trish pulled up a couple of minutes later, after Kevin had managed to call Pippa, and so it wasn’t difficult to convince Kevin’s family to stay for one more coffee. I gave my parents a call and they came around shortly afterwards. The party rolled on. In the back yard of our ho

I guess I'm lucky then that I usually only get knocked for six for about 24 hours then!
-
I had it twice, but I was sicker from the vaccinations than from the disease itself ... they hit me like a fecking garbage truck! Only lasted 24 hours or so and with a few Panadol after that I was able to soldier on. I was concerned about catching it though ... as I have a few health issues I need to be careful with.

Haha @Summerabbacat I was probably thinking more along the lines of Mr Humphries in Are You Being Served! lol We still see people wearing masks up here ... and I occasionally wear one if I suspect I'm a bit fluey or something ... MP

@CincyKris we certainly had our challenges in Australia, but out here in the country where I am, things were largely okay. The cities got hit much, much harder; both in lockdown protocols and the sickness. Most of our staff worked from home, but as I didn't have a good enough internet connection, I was pretty much in the office all the time ... and to tell you the truth, I loved it! The busiest day probably had three people in the building, and they were all in other wings of the building, so I hardly saw anyone! haha Anyhow, not to make light of the whole affair, it was a challenging time for everyone, and for those who lost love ones I can only offer my heartfelt condolences for their loss. ♥️

-- Chapter Eighteen -- The first weeks of lockdown settled over Thompsonville like a quiet, slightly awkward blanket. Small town life just rolled on as best it could. No one was screaming in the streets. No one was hoarding toilet paper in a frenzy. We simply . . . adjusted. The rules were clear: stay home unless it was essential, keep 1.5 metres distance, wear a mask in public, no large gatherings. Life didn’t stop. It just changed shape, and we changed shape to fit. Kevin slotted int

Thank you @Summerabbacat and yes, you'll be seeing more of Toby. And on the topic of expanding roles, well there'll be a bit of that too. 🙂

-- Chapter Seventeen -- After Kevin left me, I headed home, where I found my sixteen-year-old, mildly-autistic brother, Toby, sitting on the front porch waiting for me. He was reading a comic book, which, apart from building model ships, was one of his favourite things. ‘Hey, Tobes. Why didn’t you go inside? The door isn’t locked.’ ‘Didn’t think I should,’ Toby answered, not looking up from the page. ‘Everything okay?’ ‘Yeah.’ ‘Want a drink?’ ‘Cocarrr-colahhh?’

Nailed it @Summerabbacat ... at least the bits about Kevin and Ruth and no baby there. You might be getting warm about the someone else. I was wanting to include Jack in this story and as it turned out, all the years worked out perfectly. This was set in 2019 at the start. Tony and Aaron got back together in 2011 ... eight years previous ... which worked out to be the eight years that Tony mentioned in the 'Something in the Water' story. And as for the Mac Harbour Mary's ??? hahaha ... I don't think so!

@Summerabbacat so very true. Those dang American's do everything wrong ... and then it rubs off on the rest of us! lol Like I said, it took me a bit to figure that one out ... my friend @Ivor Slipper does enjoy his play on words!
-
@Ivor Slipper you beat me to it ... saved me having to explain it! cc @Summerabbacat

@Ivor Slipper nice idea, but I somehow doubt that'll be what eventuates! Still, I can live in hope!
