  1. My apologies. All should now be resolved! MP
  2. Authors Note: My apologies dear readers ... apparently I posted this chapter as Chapter 2 last week, so if you are feeling a touch of de ja vu, that is the reason. This is the correct Chapter 3. Chapter 2 has also now been updated. Please enjoy! The sun. The sand. The company. The parties. The freedom. For the few days that we stayed on the Gold Coast, it was all just fabulous. But it was also all too brief. Matt and I had made our plans, and they were to spend a couple of da
  3. Wow! It feels odd knowing that there are folks out there who know these places! LOL Yes, I know about the pronunciation, though I was originally told Lake Cat-eye! (close enough though!). It was where I saw my first nekkid man! (haha!) Haven't been back there since my teens though. Need to do that one of these days. It would be interesting to see what it's like now! MP
  4. Thank you @Summerabbacat ... I'm glad I could take you back to those times. Sounds like we are about the same age ... I finished Year 12 in '81, then started full time work in '82. Schoolies, as I recall, was in its infancy back then. I know some of my classmates went, but not me or any of my close friends. Last time I went to the GC would have been late 80's I think. T'ville is loosely based on a town called Lake Cathie, while Mac Harbour is a mash-up of Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour ... all places I visited quite a few times in my youth. Hope you enjoy the rest of these stories. Thank you!
  5. Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the entire journey for Matt and Luke and their friends ... there are actually 5 stories in this series (so far! lol) which will all be posted here -- though they are also available elsewhere. Mark
  6. AUTHORS NOTE: Dear Readers. My apologies ... apparently I mixed up Chapters 2 and 3 and originally posted Ch 3 here instead. All now resolved! Please enjoy! So what happened next, you ask? Well, you will be pleased to know that later that same afternoon, after we had left the gang at the Centre Café and returned to Matt’s place, we finally did it. It was wonderful and exciting and it was everything that I had ever hoped it would be. It was quite late in the afternoo

Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to sharing my stories here. 🙂
  8. Thank you so much for your very kind words. I had the same feelings when working on the edits ... it was like pulling on a comfortable old sweater as I settled back in with these characters. Mark
  9. Best friends, Luke and Matt, have been inseparable since primary school and now, after twelve long years of schooling, the end of those school years are finally within sight. All that is left to do is make it through the night of the school formal, before starting their final exams. So what will the night bring for the boys and their group of friends? What secrets are about to be exposed? How will they, their families and their friends all react to the events that are about to unfold? And what will they discover about themselves . . . about each other . . . and about life?
  10. Hi there! No, you are right. We haven't met before. My name is Luke. Luke Solomon. And I would like to tell you a little tale. Well, actually, it's not so much a little tale. More like a true romance really, but I think you will like it. Now, as you would probably be aware, in most societies there is a ritual that takes place towards the end of a student’s high school years which, depending on the country you live in, is called a social or a prom or a formal, amongst other names.

Hi Marty. AWD appears first as it was just the first story I wrote. I'll have to check, but I don't think Justin was with Scott in AWD, so that's why it came second 😀

Thank you so much. I always love hearing from fellow Aussies. And yes, the whole series will be added here ... I'm working on having After We Dance re-edited at the moment for posting elsewhere, so it will also be posted here, followed by the others as well.

Thank you, Ben. Originally it was only written as a 'one off' but I have been rethinking that lately! Let's just see what happens! Mark

'Awww . . . c'mon, Chris,' urged Jeremy Hutton, my best friend for as long as I could remember. ‘Don’t be such a wuss!’ We had been sitting within the school playground beneath one of the old pine trees along the bottom edge of the oval while having lunch on a Friday and discussing plans for our weekend. As usual his plans were far more grand than mine, so I just knew that whatever we got up to wasn't going to be tame. 'They say that sometimes you've just gotta take a chance or two, do
  22. ‘They say that sometimes you’ve just gotta take a chance or two, don’t ya know?’ And that applies to life and to love, as thirteen year old friends, Christian Miller and Jeremy Hutton are about to discover.
