  1. I swear little Timmy just had a very difficult transformation to human and is a normal shifter otherwise. But we will see him again and he has a small role to play. (Maybe he sacrifices himself to buy the fleeing shifters some time? Would you like that? 🤔) Ariadne is already where she is supposed to end up. Seriously, the only question I have left right now while writing is: What is the exact fate of Mother?
  2. Yes, I‘m making it my priority to finish the story as soon as possible. Updates at least once a week, maybe twice a week. My other story „Lightbringer:Fireborn“ just completed, now I can concentrate on BigPaws.
  3. I‘m afraid there really won‘t be any downtime to make a „non-cliffhanger“ ending to a chapter from now on as I have to switch back and forth between the different groups until the climax.
  4. Armored boots cracked like breaking bones against ancient stone. “MOVE, YOU ROTTING CORPSES!” The captain’s roar shredded the air, his fury not centuries old but millennia, burning like acid in his throat. Obsidian blades ripped free, weapon racks splintering under desperate hands. Whetstones screamed across steel, vomiting white-hot sparks that sizzled against exposed flesh. Pandemonium. Vampires, unchallenged for centuries, snarled and collided, fingers breaking then healing as
  5. Yes, yes... I know you all wait for the next chapter (at least I hope you still do 😅 ). Give me another few hours to polish and publish... latest tomorrow, I promise! I had quite a hard time figuring out a way forward...
  6. That's just Act I. Act II will be "normal" ... well, kind of.
  7. It's a mostly Norwegian/Icelandic name. Yes, it does exist
  8. The scream was torn from Amélie’s throat—a sound of pure shock and violation—at the same instant the withered black feather settled on their doorstep. The attack was not a slow creep; it was a thunderclap. The wards they had woven into the walls surged with a deep, resonant thrum, a protective heartbeat answering her cry as a brutal, spiritual force seized her womb. Etienne was inside the room in a heartbeat, his face ashen. He reached her just as her knees buckled. “It’s him,” Marie c
  9. That's not how it will happen. I've actually just saved a first version of the next (and final) chapter. It's gonna be a lengthy one ...over 7k words. I can try to post it in a few hours... Doh, actually, I don't want to wait. With "only one chapter in 24h" I'm sure they meant per day and well, it's kind of the next day anyway.
  10. Mid-November, 1788 The word hung in the air between them, a shard of ice. Soon. A terrible silence descended on the cavernous entrance hall, a pressurized hush that seemed to push the lantern light back into itself. Amélie could hear the frantic beat of her own heart, the rasp of Marie’s breathing as she leaned heavily on her for support, and the low, mournful moan of the wind through the skeletal upper floors. The ugly, weeping stain on the wall seemed to darken in the lantern
  11. Late October, 1788 The moan from the corner of the stone room did not stir Brother Mathias. Before him, on the rough table, the world was remade. A crucifix lay beside a circle of chicken bones. A bowl of murky water, thick with crushed herbs and what looked like rust, sat next to the open pages of a European grimoire, De Sanguine et Spiritu. In his hands, he held a small, crude doll of stitched sackcloth and Spanish moss, a lock of grey hair sewn onto its head. He was drawing h

Loved the story. Gave me an idea for another one … Thanks SA!

    Chapter 3

I have decided that the story is complete the way it is right now. I can always write another story with Bob, but this one moment should stay as is …
  14. Oh no! I‘ve just noticed that someone unfollowed this story 🤯. Before too many follow (this really bad example) I better wrap up the whole narrative. Let‘s try to squeeze everything into another three or four chapters. It‘s proper novel length anyway.
  15. Uhm …he’s just getting started!?
  16. The heavy study door clicked shut behind Doctor Rodriguez, leaving a silence that was louder than any argument. Governor Miró stood staring at the closed door, his posture rigid, his hands clenched into white-knuckled fists at his sides. Père Antoine, watching from a chair near the cold hearth, waited. He had seen the shock on the physician's face, a man whose entire worldview had been upended by an undeniable fact that his science could not explain. Finally, Miró turned from the door,
  17. The snow stung as it whipped through the valley, tearing at Ray’s light fur as he padded along the old, half-forgotten footpath. It was barely a trail anymore, a faint scar weaving around rocks, through skeletal trees and brittle snow. Below, a well-paved road curved around the mountain’s base, leading into the gaping black maw of a tunnel. But this forgotten path climbed, growing steeper, until the vampire stronghold loomed above them, not just built on the mountain, but part of it. A hulking m
  18. Fun story! It‘s also amazing to see the incredible progress you’re making in your video edits … Wow!

    A Quiet War

Thank you so much. No-one is more surprised about how this story turns out than me… 😅
  20. September, 1788 The Governor’s residence was a fortress of silence in the heart of the sleeping city. Polished cypress floors, which by day reflected the passage of clerks and officials, now drank the faint moonlight and gave back nothing. Captain de la Rosa led them through a side entrance and down a series of quiet corridors, his boots making no sound. He was a ghost in his own domain, his face grim in the shadows. Each step took Amélie deeper into the gilded cage where the Governo
  21. Oh no, please not that woke song.... Great suggestions!
  22. All promising titels, but neither original soundtrack songs not show tunes. Might make good stories though

  24. Hmmmm .... I'm currently brainstorming the remaining chapters. I don't exactly see your thoughts in there (yet).... maybe I should reconsider and adapt my story line? 🤔
  25. The silence from the forest behind them was a void—exerting pressure. In it, the hidden mist—the vampires—waited. Ray had led them straight here. He could feel Renato’s stillness beside him, a low, murderous hum of contained fury directed not at Ray, but at the enemy. They couldn’t go back without a fight. All they could do was move forward, into the eerie, silent perfection of the village that didn’t know what was about to hit it. It seemed lifeless, the main street deserted. Cobblest
