  1. Thanks. So how do I go about getting someone to add it to the list of smileys? Would Joe be the best person to ask? Should I do a poll first to have some support for adding it before approaching someone at GA?
  2. Yeah, I agree with Tim. The forums are a huge part of what makes this place so much fun. Still, some people mange their time better than I do and have more time to read than I do. Additionally I am responsible for 32+ websites and I'm still writing code for clients. Oh, and beta-editing takes up a bit of time if you really want to do justice to the author you're working for. Sacha, I was serious about your posts. We all make fluff posts but for the most part what I've seen from you is worth reading.
  3. Thanks. Somehow I got unsubscribed to this topic. I found an even better tongue-in-cheek smiley. It's a little on the small side, but I think I can have that fixed. So, what do you all think?
  4. Somehow I lost track of this topic. Kevin, as always you made some excellent points and observations. Thanks. I need sleep but tomorrow I want to come back and comment more coherently on what you wrote. The stuff about social engineering and Monosexism makes perfect sense to me. I don't understand what you mean about people deciding for themselves with fear. Hence I also don't understand Kevin's reaction to what you wrote.
  5. I don't deny being a post whore. I'm proud of it. I love to post. Amongst other things it lets me give the authors whose stories I've had time to read and enjoy the feedback and exposure they so richly deserve. If people see my name I hope they will look at my profile, see what topics I've posted in, and perhaps find out about authors and stories they haven't read yet. You're on my list of authors I want to read. In a feeble but honest attempt to get back on-topic, Sacha is also on my wish list. If only there were more hours in the day so I could beta-read, post, work, and still read all the stories on my wish list I'd be even happier than I am already! BTW, if you keep replying to my good-natured taunts you'll never make it off the post whore list.
  6. Hey, look at who's in the Top 5 of Today's top 20 posters as of right now! Why it's Jack Frost! Imagine that. Now tell me who's lost their cred? Eh?
  7. The link appears to be broken. ADDED: Yes the link works now. Thanks. I don't know what to write. You'd think all the sleazy 24/7 news channels would have jumped all over this. Sadly it would be for all the wrong reasons. So maybe it's best that someone with a little cred in the gay community is talking about it. At least it gives the issue a sense of dignity no matter how outrageous the crime was. Just last night I was watching, Make Me A Supermodel, on Bravo. One of the contestants, who happens to be best friends with the only openly gay contestant, and who, until now, has always been respectful of his friend's sexuality, was making the most crude comments about gays. To me that just goes to show that what Ellen had to say was spot on accurate. We let others poke fun at us in ways that should not be acceptable. It's so sad to think about how far we've come and yet how far we still have to go. My condolences go out to the families on both sides of this tragedy.
  8. Meh. Now you're just being a post whore.
  9. Well it could have been. At the rate I'm going I'll pass you before too long and eventually leave Sacha in the dust. I doubt anyone will ever catch up to or surpass CJ. Nevertheless, consider me an aspiring evil post whore regardless of where the constantly evolving post whore number is at the moment! Oh, and you'd better leave Graeme alone. He's been very nice to me and I don't forget it when people are kind to strangers strange people me.
  10. Don't fret about it. When it comes right down to it the quality of each post means a lot more than the total number of posts you've made! Disclaimer: I am not implying anything about the quality of Sacha's post quality. In fact I'm sure every post was of top quality and well worth reading.
  11. That's alright. We all have our own [secret] powers. You just haven't found yours yet. Perhaps you need to get into battle and catch an orb?
  12. Hmm, all I see are a bunch of Server Not Found error pages in wildone's message. Methinks you all are making up numbers.
  13. At this point I think it's safe to state that CJ is just plain evil regardless of any cliffhangers.
  14. While I'm not completely happy with any of the voting options we have to choose from, I think "sexually fluid/open-minded" comes closest to describing Eric's sexuality. Like Graeme I find the "sexually fluid" option a bit offensive because to me it implies Eric would be open to a casual fling with a guy. I just don't see that happening. However, due to Eric's life experiences of living with non-hetero people I could see him being "open-minded" enough to getting involved with the right guy. I need to go slightly off-topic here to hopefully spark a serious debate. This whole issue actually bothers me. Why do we need to speculate about anyone's sexuality? Why do we feel the need to make anyone into something they might not be? In a way it lends credence to the homophobic accusations of gays trying to convert straights to being gay. We all know that's BS! You are what you are and that's it be it gay, straight, purely bi, bi with certain leanings, or just curious. Personally I'll be happy for Eric regardless of the sexual choices he makes. He's still young and having fun living the life of a rock star. That's great. We should all be so lucky. But eventually I hope he'll find the right person to make his life happy, contented, and complete. ADDED: I wrote this and previewed it before seeing Kevin's reply. I'm too tired right now to go back and address the issues he raised. But I think it's a good start to the debate I was hoping to start.
  15. This is the tongue-in-cheek smiley I referred to earlier. It needs some editing to clean it up and make it a tad larger but I think it fits our requirements perfectly. Comments?
  16. OK, I deserved that. Now go vote!
  17. https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/TL-Writin...ger-t17788.html I can't see the poll. Does the poll's creator not get to see the poll or did I do something wrong?
  18. Tim, you know I you too much to ever actually hurt you! I was just making an attempt at humor. Sorry if it failed. Promising Authors need their own forums. That would be the perfect place for this poll. For now I think The Lounge would be the ideal place for this poll. Suggestion: Does TL The Writing Tiger use cliffhangers? 1) No. 2) Yes, but not evil ones. 3) Yes, truly evil ones.
  19. On MSN Tim suggested a poll. I retorted that we should settle it with a pole. Let's beat on him until he confesses his evil ways.
  20. I'll need an address so I can send those tissues, LOL.
  21. Tough love buddy. Either admit to using evil cliffhangers or accept the consequences. I'll at least show I have some compassion by supplying the tissues if you choose to continue being stubborn.
  22. I suppose you also like to push buttons on stuff just to see what will happen.
  23. I understand that. Nevertheless, I got seven notices of the same post. You can tell via the msg # in the URL. ADDED: I also get notices of every single post in each forum even though the software is only supposed to send out one notice until you visit the forum.
  24. Something is wrong with the forum notification system. So far I've gotten seven notices of your most recent post, BK.
  25. Give me some time to finish lunch and beta-reading Tim's latest chapter and then I'm sure I can have something to show you.
