You are right, and I stand corrected. They were still using cess pits. What surprised me was that even back then, people were paying for clean water. Right again.
  2. December 14, 1801 Portland Place London, UK “I do not think I can express how happy I am that you are home,” Carmella said, as they lay in his bed enjoying their post-coital afterglow. “I am glad to be home as well,” he said, and gave her a sweet kiss. “I was worried that all of the charming Parisian women would convince you to stay in France,” she said, pouting. “I did not sleep with any French women the last time I was in Paris, and I did

  4. I’m not a fan of all the em-dashes.
  5. Whatever. These threads always go off topic. But we are back on track now.
  6. You were interesting. 😃
  7. I think you identified both strategies and the reasons for them. I think if your goal is more readers, than your standard style is best. On the other hand, it’s an ideal opportunity to experiment, and possibly make it harder for readers to figure out who you are. 😈
  8. Perhaps, although I think Robbie took just as big of a hit.
  9. I really liked this story. The character development is excellent, and I love the twist at the end. I was thinking that Kyle was a good and devoted friend, then in the blink of an eye, he turns into a psycho.

  10. That's a really good guess. I never write anything that's less than 5000 words, so that ticks the box.
  11. If only I spoke Italian. 😀
  12. Here’s a hint: I never write anything that’s less than 5000ish words
  13. November 28, 2004 on approach New York City, NY Will “It’s going to suck, not having you around,” Travis said in a playful way, trying to take the sting out of our upcoming separation. “I’m going to miss you,” I told him candidly, then leaned over and gave him a sweet kiss, not a passionate one. “Even though you stole Ramon away from me.” “Dude, can you blame him? I am so much hotter,” he joked
  14. Now’s your chance to redeem yourself. 😃
  15. Stef doesn’t exercise. In Black Widow JP was giving him shit about it. Wyoming was indeed commercial.
  16. You are right. I’m not a skier. There is no way in hell that Stef would ski.
  17. I posted a Secret Author Story. You can find them here. Guess which one I wrote.
  18. Tim, an honor student from Los Gatos, grapples with heartbreak and self-reflection after being ghosted by Thet, a closeted blue-collar guy from South St. Louis. As Tim wrestles with anger and confusion, a dinner with his grandmother leads to a powerful coming-out moment. Their heartfelt exchange helps Tim process past trauma with his father and recognize the secrecy and pain others around him carry. When he later spots Thet out with a girl, he sees through the act—and instead of lashing out, reaches out with unexpected compassion, hoping Thet will one day accept who he is.
  19. One wonders if an absolutely gorgeous man walked into such a setting if the gay men in the room would be calm, demure, and not fall all over each other in an effort to fuck him.
  20. If memory serves, Jack is a year older than Claire
  21. November 25, 2004 (Thanksgiving Day) Escorial Palo Alto, CA Will It seemed like this dinner would never end. Fortunately all of the drama was across the table from me, so at least I had a good view. Ryan sat in his seat pretty much by himself, interacting with no one. I had thought that he’d spend most of his time talking to Amber, but he’d been totally cock-blocked by my Uncle Jack. Jack and Amber were ha
