You raise an interesting point about injury-prone sports: they do seem to more vividly capture the popular imagination. Must be the basic human sadistic streak.
Cody has been around Will for a long time, and he knows how to deal with him. I can't imagine him being nervous about that. He'd have no problems telling Will "no".
I think Zach is probably typical of most people, in that what he thinks in his mind is a lot different than what he says out loud. :-)
I think that Brad is going to separate the friendship aspect of things with Kevin from the romantic angle, and go down that road. Besides, he figured out that Cody has pretty strong feelings for Kevin, and Brad doesn't want to jump into that soap opera.
I think that the arrogance (also known more affectionately as cockiness) is not all that uncommon in guys who look good, have brains, and have an amazing body.
Glad you liked the chapter! I tried to write it so Zach and Will were huddled together, such that no one could really hear what they were saying. At least I (and they) hope they were like that
Actually, this word count was on the high side of average, but I get that it's a perception thing. :-)
I think that Brad will treat Kevin well, but I don't know if he'll be willing to jump into a relationship with him. I'm guessing that at this point, Brad absolutely has to have a guy he can trust.
I did not. You think I was surprised...talk to Sharon. She's still recovering from the years of editing. :-)
Thanks. It has been a labor of love.
Thanks!

I had been standing in the dining room, chatting with Stef about the latest deal we’d been approached with. It wasn’t anything special, and it wasn’t all that exciting, but it looked to be relatively low risk, and it should yield a nice profit within a couple of years. We were basically using some time before dinner to cover some business: no big deal.
And then Will had walked into the room, and Cody was with him. I’d felt my
A very interesting review, with much to think about. I would think that Alex would look at the US rules about legality, and contrast that to Will's evident maturity and not let it worry him overmuch. I wonder if the fact that JJ seems younger than Will (even though he isn't) may have dulled Alex's read on JJ's affection for him.
I think that's an interesting point, and one that's probably spot on: Alex probably hasn't really been turned down all that much...if at all. That must have been just a bit irritating. ;-)
Good review! I agree with you about Will. I think that both Zach and Will are dealing with the fact that they both have other distractions in their lives: football for Zach; and other men for Will. It's really not fair to ask Will to give up other guys when Zach can't make a commitment to him that eclipses his career.
Great review as always Jason, and I think your questions are intriguing. I think that JJ would probably not really appreciate what Will did because he would be annoyed that Alex was attracted to Will in the first place, and in typical JJ fashion, he would be inclined to blame Will for that.
I think that with Will, his actions were inherent rather than learned. He has JP's commitment to family, and all the rules that go with it. That's probably why he could sleep with Kyle while he was with Erik, and Tony while he was with Dana...both of whom weren't "family" members, but when it comes to his brothers, that kind of shit is off the table.
Thanks Maarten. I think that JP almost replaced Wade's father before Wade's father was killed. If you think about it, it makes sense that Wade would go out and select someone competent to fill that role when the father nature gave him was inadequate.
Great review as always. I think your read on Alex is one of the best I've heard so far. He really hasn't done anything wrong, yet it feels like he has.
You make some really good points, but I don't think it's fair to say that Alex broke Wade and Matt up. In the end, he probably did a lot to bring them together. I think the entire think with Alex was an epiphany for Wade...probably not unlike Brad's relationship with Matt.
Actually, this is a better Ricky Nelson picture of how I visualized JP when he was younger:
I'm not sure if Tab Hunter really works for Stef. I think Tab's face is too broad.
