    Chapter 75

That is true, but isn't that what happens with many relationships? It starts out good, then it isn't.

    Chapter 75

I like your contrast between Matt and Will. I think that Matt has a playfulness, and a self-orientation, that makes him more self-absorbed (not unlike Robbie). Will is also self-absorbed, but less so, and as you noted, he is very interested in growing as a person. Will is a bit like a pinball, only as you noted, every bumper he bounces off of, he learns something. Matt doesn't pay attention to the bumpers, he's just focused on landing in the magic hole (in a pinball machine)...LOL.

    Chapter 75

What you were seeing with Wade is that classic "falling out of love" mindset, where all the things about your partner that used to endear you, now simply annoy you. Are there still feelings there? I think there have to be. But for Wade, they're not strong enough to keep the relationship going. Never count Will out. He may surprise you. :-)

    Chapter 75

That's one of your more profound reviews. ;-)
  5. I just wanted to post a blurb to thank all of the people who read 9-11 and wrote reviews. Today, with the posting of Chapter 75, 9-11 hit 1000 reviews, the first story at GA to do so. Writing 1000 reviews represents a significant collective effort on your parts! Thank you! And a special shout out to Sammy Blue, who posted the 1000th review. Sammy, go hit the casino or buy a lottery ticket!
  6. I remember this song so well, and it's perfect for that scene. Well done, Jeremy!

    Chapter 75

Happy Birthday! I think you were absolutely right about Wade still loving Matt. Feelings don't die that easily or that quickly. But like you said, Wade is also done with Matt. Now it just remains for Matt to figure it out.

    Chapter 75

Thanks for the review, Terry. I actually get Matt's attitude toward the hockey team, and I think if he would have handled that better, Wade would have gotten it too. As the Captain, Matt has more of a responsibility to the team, and as the lead scorer, he's a central figure. Leaving the team, when you're the leader, is analagous to shirking or neglecting your responsibilities, and that's something Wade wouldn't do.

    Chapter 75

Thanks! I'm not sure if Will and Zach are in a relationship that CAN'T work, I think they're in a relationship that would be difficult to work. And I doubt that at this stage in life, they're ready for those challenges, or even thinking about them.

    Chapter 75

Thanks JB! I don't think Matt gets that Wade has a tripwire in his brain, where he's just had enough, and the logic finally overpowers his emotions.

    Chapter 75

I think this whole scene with Matt and Wade shows how completely out of touch with each other they are. That Matt is surprised that the relationship is really over suggests this is going to be pretty damn hard on him.

    Chapter 75

You of course nailed it: bereavement is a huge contributor to their problems. Relationships don't always survive such major traumas, and it looks like this one was yet another casualty of 9-11.

    Chapter 75

CONGRATS TO YOU! You're the 1000th reviewer of 9-11. No other story on GA has ever hit 1000 reviews, and you win the big prize (which is, of course, nothing). Thanks for the review! I'm glad you made it through this bipolar chapter!

    Chapter 75

I know. Hawaii sounds awesome when we think about the crappy St. Louis weather today. But it's a tradition thing... The next book doesn't go too far. I'd tell you around May, 2002, but that would be a spoiler.

    Chapter 75

Matt may be a senior at Stanford, but he's still a hockey player. ;-) Will didn't ban Matt from Escorial, Wade is just mentioning that as a concern. If Matt appears, Will would be civil to him. Barely. Wade's frustrations with Matt finally manifested themselves into action. You'll be partially happy with the next story. ;-)

    Chapter 75

Will is maturing in fits and starts, so this is a sign that he's doing better at controlling his temper. I think that Frank is still trying to manage his role in things, and is being as diplomatic as he can in this situation. No need for an all-out brawl over this one.

    Chapter 75

I'm trying to decide if you think that is too short, or too long? :-)

    Chapter 75

November 10, 2001 Tribeca, NY “If you are not going with us, we should at least get your measurements,” Stef said to Zach. He was annoyed, because he’d been excited to spend time playing dress-up with Zach. “You don’t have to get me anything,” Zach said, even as his eyes were glued to the television, watching the football game. Stef stared at him for a few seconds, until Zach realized that he was being eyeballed, and finally got that he was irritating Stef. “St
  19. Alright, settle down! Adam and I are the only ones allowed to beat up on Jeremy. Jeremy can be a little forceful in his views and assertions, but that's a pretty good thing, since I'm a pretty assertive guy too. Sometimes he pushes a little too hard, but I either ignore him or kick back. Having said that, he contributes a lot to the stories during the editing process, and can usually alert me to major forum firestorms on the horizon. He also does a lot of research for me. He is much appreciated, butslightly annoying at times.

    Chapter 74

I can't see JJ becoming less bitchy. Ever. ;-)

    Chapter 74

    I think that's a really good description.
  22. This is nothing new. The same hand-wringing happened in the 90s, and in the mid-2000s. The problem is that San Francisco is so awesome, everyone wants to live there.

    Chapter 74

Well, dress up is technically in the next chapter. ;-) I take a break to accomplish something, and I did. I realized I was right. Now that's worth taking a break for. :-)
  24. That's what I told them after they had to redo the schedule for the 7th time.

    Chapter 74

I'm glad you liked this chapter! I thought Frank did well, and I think he got the picture on what the dynamic was like between Zach and Wally.
