    You? A whore? Hot. :-)

    Chapter 18

Nelson was a consummate politician, even though he didn't always play the game well.

    Chapter 18

There are a lot of straight guys on the ship. Brookstone and Clifton come to mind, and so does Meurice. Ramsey may indeed be trouble.

    Chapter 18

Now you know Granger would never prey on supple young midshipmen. :-)

    Chapter 33

I agree with you...these guys are still maturing, but they're certainly not mature.

    Chapter 33

I think Wade would be a good mentor for anyone.

    Chapter 33

You're assuming nothing happens to Will before school starts? Guess again. :-)

    Chapter 33

Thanks for the stars. I must have a stalker who disses me with star ratings. I appreciate you helping out.

    Chapter 33

I don't know...I think the 17/18 year age level is prone to constant drama.

    Chapter 33

Sometimes it's about the journey, not the destination. :-)
  11. August 3, 2000 Palo Alto, CA Will “Slow down, Will,” my dad said firmly, but I ignored him. We’d gotten a late start this morning, and I was pissed off about that. Grand should be out of surgery, or almost out of surgery by now. It was maddening to be dicking around at the airport while he was being operated on, instead of being here, where he needed us. “Will,” he all but shouted, but then gave up as I tore down the hallway. I came skidding around a corner and almost ran in
  12. You guys are always in the rich guy's corner. I think that it's hard to fault Gathan, based on what's transpired, but when Hendrickson apologized, the polite thing to do would have been for Gathan to be more civil. I'm still not convinced that Gathan's all that out of line. Maybe a little bit. Maybe.
  13. August 2, 2000 Claremont, OH Gathan “I love this place, but it is still freakin’ hot,” Kristin said, as we lay out at the watering hole. I looked over and took in the beautiful sight in front of me. Sure there was the small dam and beautiful little pool of water, not to mention the waterfall that was formed around the dam. And there were the big trees that seemed to shelter the whole area except this rock, making it the perfect sunbathing spot. All of that natural

    Chapter 18

December 20, 1796 For a minute, and no more, the officers on the quarterdeck of HMS Belvidera paused to ponder Roberts’ action with Sabina, his brave resolve to sail off to almost certain capture so the men standing there could escape. As if a clairvoyant moment washed over them all, they seemed to suddenly realize that their escape from the Dons was in no way certain. The Spanish had plenty of ships to recapture Sabina and take Belvidera at the same time. “We need
  15. You make excellent points, but there's one key reason why they don't have a house there: the author isn't a big fan of Palm Springs.

    Chapter 32

I think that if Robbie can get that into his psyche..the link between Will and Paris...that may very well give him what he needs to move on. Santa Clara University is in CA, not Ohio, FYI.

    Chapter 32

Why thank you. I thought it was a "feel good" chapter too. Unfortunately, they can't all be that way.
  18. I don't see Darius as the glue, necessarily. I think he's a little too impatient for that. I think we won't figure that out (me included) until they all get older. Right now, Darius has that aura of coolness that keeps the others in awe of him. That's right. Brian did go there. What, I can't speak for myself anymore? No, connections wouldn't have gotten him a commission without a Bachelor's degree. That wasn't even very common as far back as WWII. I was saying that? It's possible. I don't see Darius, or any of the kids, leaving school without at least getting their bachelor's degree. It is too deeply ingrained into their psyches. There's unbelievable family pressure (think tradition, custom, etc.) and if that weren't enough, his grandfather is a professor. I just don't see Darius being that rebellious. Unless it involved his dick.
  19. It's better.

    Chapter 32

It could be worse. They could have gone on to Fresno. Just as bad, but farther away. ;-)

    Chapter 32

I agree. I don't think I'd want to be Pat.

    Chapter 32

Jeremy will be driving me nuts if I don't give JJ some depth.
  23. You know, it just seems like something Darius would do. Of course, even though he denies it, everyone knows that being closer to Ella factored into his decision.

    Chapter 32

Good points. I wonder if at 18 he'll still escape their supervision.
