What do you get when a couple of demons go into a bar, then each tells their war stories of debauchery, gore, and mayhem? An excellent Gothic story Thanks Sasha for writing this story and joining my event

Aww thorn, you are such a romantic I use the same concept of tethering in my Causality Universe for ghosts. It is a common concept in Eastern Mythology. The Japanese have entire purification rituals for removing spirits from objects or people. However, love should never be abandoned. Thanks for writing in my event.

A Classic Vampire with allusions to Rice. What is real and what is too real to exist? Thanks for joining my effort to give everyone a nice array of horror stories. -

The Promise By W.L Words began to form in my thoughts as I awoke, uncertain words: Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow Where Am I? Who Am I? What is this…thing next to me? It feels warm, is that the word to describe this feeling? Yes, the thing feels warm. More words come to describe it: soft, tender, and love. I feel another thing rising in me, hunger. The hun

I've seen it, but my story is kind of the reverse of Warm Bodies, in almost every way. You are right, the process of transformation is usually really quick; there is no exploration of what dehumanizes people, when they become zombies. James, you took one route in your storytelling and I take another. We are both breaking different ground in this genre. I don't want people to compare us, becuase we're really different in how we approach things. Also, while Warm Bodies is expository (like the way I usually write) my short story took the route of minimalist expression. Much of the story is written in between the lines with hints towards tragedy and the isolation within groups rather than support of civilization.

Wainwright did well, but Lester was very good as well. I think Wainwright should have just let Ortiz walk last game, the single gave us a lot of momentum that could not be matched by the Cards. Ortiz should get MVP, but Boston will get our first victory at home. (We won our others world series on road games in 04 and 07) With that we will no longer under the shadow of any curses, unless we do something stupid like trade Ortiz for Brian McCann (Don't do old patterns)

Research methodology problems, Thorn, is what holds this research back from conclusive statement. With a high prevalence of homicide and a sample filled with males, the research had a lot of problems. They admitted that their sampling was 92% male to begin with, not a very logical cross sample. The pseudo-necrophiles were all homicidal criminals, plus 11 out of the 34 were homicide necrophiles as well. It feeds into the old horror movie trope of Norman Bates of Psycho. Also, they did not even list racial composition, so we are talking about a cultural singular study with a high prevalence of males and murderers. The 1989 research had a lot of issues that few have tried to retrace and challenge. Also, I like to point this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_arousal Sexual arousal has several stages and may not lead to any actual sexual activity, beyond a mental arousal and the physiological changes that accompany it. Sexual arousal and attraction does not always equal sexual acts. However in the sample, it shows a very strong prevalence of sexual acts, primarily through criminal action. Thorn and Miyege have neither of you been turned on by your partner or lover, but nothing comes about afterwards. Sexual arousal by experience, memory, or contact is not equivalent to sexual acts. Also, aggression and sexual acts run in tandem. Aggression is also high among criminals Perhaps if their research was conducted with a wider sample and less reliance on criminals, it would be a bit more balanced than this The problem with psychology is that the field researches rare things, then consider it science without retesting their hypothesis. I am not saying that these guys are all saints; many of them may be evil incarnate for all I know and you know based on the early research. However, the methodology for the early research was extremely flawed. The extrapolation and conclusion faulty considering modern methodology and procedures. I don't think any of us really want to drag this topic out any longer, we all stated our opinion on Necrophilia. I don't consider its adherent to be criminally inclined, macabre and weird definitely, but I would not judge a group of people based on one psychological study with so many holes. (It might be praised by mainstream psychology, but remember lobotomies and reparative therapy were too not so long ago )

I will freely admit, a certain green fellow on this forum made was on my mind, when I chose to write a Zombie story. I have seen many zombie movies in recent years; they are the best social commentary devices, second only to Star Trek strangely enough Currently Walking Dead has the best cast, writers, and overall feel to a zombie story and I know I can't equal it in a short story, so I want to go another quieter route for a zombie story. I know Jamessavik is writing Case Black, so I am in stiff competition for a Zombie story. I don't want to steal his thunder, nor tread where he is going. There is something is missing in the zombie genre, I think it's that thing between man and Zombie, the missing stage between the transformation that few people go into. What if there's a stage between turning from man to zombie, a middle ground that is neither? Zombies are brain dead, so I want to give you what people call "having your life flash before you" at the moment of death. I also took a lot of stabs at social commentary about modern civilization and materialism. My story is framed by a poem from Robert Frost, not the famous Poem that every sci-fi writer quotes when doing an AU story about two roads No, I took a lesser known poem that I admired and framed it into the short story. For those with some interest in poetry, I hope I did Frost proud with the material. When the time comes, I hope you will enjoy it.
